Ristevski is shown a yellow card for bringing down Isco 25 yards from goal.
90' +2
Saúl enters the game and replaces Andrés Iniesta.
Chance!! A chance for Macedonia to steal a point at the death as Nestorovski gets in behind the Spanish defence inside the right-hand edge of the penalty area, but his control lets him down and the ball skips away from him and out of play before he can get a shot away.
A final change for Spain now as Saul Niguez comes on in place of Iniesta.
90' +1
We’re into the first of three minutes of added time at the end of this game.
90'
Koke picks out Ramos with a fabulous cross field pass and the skipper wins his side a corner, which Koke trudges across to take but Macedonia just about scramble it clear.
88'
Ramos goes for goal from the free-kick but fires it straight into the wall.
87'
V. Shikov gets yellow.
Spain are awarded a free-kick right on the edge of the Macedonia penalty area following a foul on Costa by Shikov. The centre-back is shown a yellow card for the foul but Costa certainly made the most of it.
85'
I. Trichkovski enters the game and replaces D. Mojsov.
A third and final roll of the dice for Macedonia with Ivan Trichkovski coming on to replace Mosjov.
84'
Pedro drives in from the left-hand touchline and looks to fire a left-footed cross towards the back post, but it’s easily intercepted. Spain really haven’t got going in this second half.
82'
CHANCE!! Another chance for Pique as he climbs highest to meet an inswinging corner 10 yards out from goal, but this time he can only head the ball wide of Dimitrievski’s goal.
80'
Isco has been much quieter in this second half but he shows wonderful quick feet to skip away from a couple of Macedonia defenders before driving towards the penalty box, but the home side are back in numbers to cut out the danger.

Description
78'
E. Elmas gets yellow.
Elmas becomes the latest player to go into the book.
76'
Things are starting to become extremely scrappy now as Spain give away a free-kick 25 yards out for a foul on Spirovski, although fortunately for the visitors it comes to nothing.
74'
A. Trajkovski enters the game and replaces K. Toshevski.
Koke enters the game and replaces Thiago Alcântara.
Another change for Spain now and Thiago is the man who is being replaced, and he is in absolutely no rush as he makes his way off the field. Koke comes on in his place.
Another change for Macedonia too with Toshevski going off to be replaced by Aleksandar Trajkovski.
73'
For much of this game De Gea has been the only player in the Spanish half but Pique and Ramos are not willing to sit quite as high up the pitch now with just a one goal lead to protect.
71'
Jordi Alba gets yellow.
The intensity of this game has changed completely in the last few minutes as whistles ring out whenever Spain have the ball. The home fans really believe that they can get something out of this game now.
Alba is shown a yellow card for a pretty cynical foul which prevented Macedonia breaking away.
69'
Pedro enters the game and replaces David Silva.
And that will be Silva’s last act of the game as he leaves the field to be replaced by Pedro.
67'
David Silva gets yellow.
One or two signs of frustration starting to creep in for Spain now as Silva goes into the book for a needless hack at the legs of the goal scorer Ristovski.
66'
S. Ristovski has scored a goal for North Macedonia! Assist by G. Pandev.
Pandev showed all of his experience there to turn the ball around the corner with a clever first-time flick.
GOOOAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!! Macedonia pull one back!!! Pandev flicks the ball around the corner close to halfway and into the path of Ristovski, who shows a clean pair of heels to burst away from the Spain defence before firing a ferocious right-footed effort high past De Gea to get the hosts back into this game.
64'
D. Mojsov gets yellow.
Mojsov goes into the referee’s book following a tangle with Costa, which the Chelsea striker very nearly reacts too.
63'
Spirovski is perhaps lucky to avoid a yellow card as he commits two fouls in quick succession, first bringing down Isco and then Iniesta, before Costa gets an ambitious first-time volley horribly wrong and balloons his effort over the bar.
61'
CHANCE FOR PIQUE!! A huge chance for the centre-back as Iniesta stands up a lovely cross from the right-hand side which finds him completely unmarked eight yards out from goal, but he fails to even hit the target, firing his header over the bar.
60'
Spain don’t put the ball into the middle and instead roll it sideways and look to build from midfield once again, and after successive corners Silva drills the ball across the face of goal towards Pique at the back post, but Macedonia are just about to get the ball clear before it reaches him.
58'
Spain haven’t really got going again in this second half, although they’ll have an opportunity to get the ball into the middle now after a foul on Isco by Nestorovski close to the left-hand touchline.
56'
Pandev wins his side a free-kick 30 yards out to the left of goal following a clumsy foul by Thiago, but the delivery is a poor one and Nestorovski is unable to prevent it going straight out for a goal kick.
54'
Egzijan Alioski picks the ball up on the left-hand touchline and delivers a cross into the middle, but it’s a pretty poor one and De Gea gathers it in at his near post.
52'
Isco picks out Alba in acres of space down the left-hand edge of the penalty area and the left-back looks to stand up a cross towards the back post, but he over hits the cross and Macedonia are able to regain possession.
50'
Costa looks to chase a ball down the left-hand edge of the penalty area but it gets away from him and rolls out for a goal kick, although he seems to feel he was pulled back and lets the referee know how he feels, prompting Julen Lopetegui to tell him to calm down.
48'
Macedonia have made a pretty good start to this second half and they’re already playing much further forward than they were in the first.
46'
E. Elmas enters the game and replaces O. Stjepanovic.
Macedonia are making a change at half-time with Ostoja Stjepanovikj going off to be replaced by Eljif Elmas.
Kick-off! Referee Pawel Gil blows his whistle and Spain get the second half underway.
45'
HUGE CHANCE!! A wonderful chance for Isco as he picks up the ball in acres of space inside the box, but he takes an age over the shot before eventually looking to drill the ball in at the near post, and Dimitrievski gets down well to his right to keep it out.
43'
Costa gets into a dangerous position 10 yards out from goal and blasts a right-footed effort over the the bar, but the referee brings play back for handball in the build-up, much to the bemusement of the Chelsea striker.
41'
CLOSE!! Isco comes within inches of adding a third Spanish goal as he curls a low, right-footed effort narrowly wide of the right-hand post from 12 yards out.
37'
Macedonia have just livened up in the last couple of minutes and Nestorovski gets in behind the Spain defence after a long ball over the top, but the ball just skips off the greasy surface and gets away from him, although the flag goes up for offside so any goal would not have stood.
35'
G. Pandev gets yellow.
Pandev is shown the first yellow card of the game for a foul on Busquets, although one suspects that the yellow card is as a result of a number of fouls the Macedonia captain has committed.
33'
Close!! Out of nowhere Macedonia very nearly pull a goal back as Pandev lays the ball off to Stefan Ristovski on the edge of the Spain penalty area, but the striker drags his low shot wide of the goal. You sense that Macedonia are going to have to be far more clinical than that if they’re to take anything from this game.
31'
Wonderful one-touch football from Spain as they knock the ball around the Macedonian defence down the left-hand side, before Isco takes a shot on from 25 yards out, only to fire the ball over the bar.
29'
Spain are in complete control of this game now, so much so that Alba and Carvajal are almost playing as wingers whenever Spain are on the front foot, which is the majority of the time.
27'
Diego Costa has scored a goal for Spain! Assist by Isco.
GOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! Costa makes it two!! Isco skips past Kire Ristevski with a lovely piece of skill on the right-hand corner of the penalty box before rolling a cross across the face of goal towards Costa at the back post, and the striker makes no mistake, tapping the ball into an empty net from a couple of yards out.
Isco has been involved in almost everything good for Spain going forward and he showed extremely quick feet to set that goal up.
25'
Close! Silva plays a lovely reverse pass into the box for Costa to chase which catches the Macedonian defence out, but Dimitrievski is alert to the danger and rushes quickly off his line to gather the ball in ahead of the Chelsea striker.
23'
Spain are having to be extremely patient for now, knocking the ball about amongst the midfield as they search for a way to get the ball into the box with Macedonia sitting off them and defending in numbers.
21'
Busquets is just sitting in front of the back four for Spain which is allowing the rest of the midfield to roam about with a great deal of freedom at the moment.
19'
Lovely link-up play in the middle of the field between Busquets and Silva sets the latter away into space 25 yards out from goal, but his pass out towards Alba on the overlap is an unusually poor one and Kristijan Toshevski intercepts it.
17'
That goal has certainly quietened down the home fans somewhat and Macedonia look as though they’re sitting even deeper in defence now.
15'
David Silva has scored a goal for Spain! Assist by Jordi Alba.
GOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!! Silva puts Spain ahead!! The Manchester City midfielder controls the ball 10 yards out from goal and turns well, before rolling a low right-footed shot into the back of the net, wrong-footing Dimitrievski in the Macedonia goal.
Alba has got forward well throughout these opening minutes and he did so once again to set up that goal for Silva, pulling a pass back towards him from the byline.
13'
Close! Costa gets in behind the Macedonia defence inside the left-hand edge of the penalty area and looks to roll the ball across the face of goal towards two unmarked team mates at the back post, but his cross is blocked and loops into the side-netting.
11'
Pandev turns away from Sergio Busquets inside the Spain half and looks to be away into space with Ilija Nestorovski ahead of him, but the referee brings play back for a foul on the Spain midfielder by Pandev, drawing a loud chorus of boos from the home fans.
9'
The home fans are making plenty of noise at the moment, creating a pretty intense atmosphere whenever Spain have the ball.
7'
Andres Iniesta is seeing plenty of the ball in these early stages, this time picking out Dani Carvajal on the right-hand corner of the box with a crisp pass across the top of the box, but the right-back fails to beat his man and the attack breaks down.
5'
Macedonia have their first chance to get the ball into the box from a free-kick on the left-hand side, but having got the ball into his feet just inside the penalty area, Goran Pandev’s control lets him down before he can get a shot away.
3'
A half-chance for Spain as David Silva gets in behind the Macedonia defence down the left-hand side and looks to play a first-time ball across the six yard box towards Diego Costa, but he succeeds only in turning it straight into the arms of Stole Dimitrievski.
2'
Unsurprisingly Spain have made an extremely comfortable start to this game, knocking the ball about with ease inside the Macedonia half with the home side sitting very deep.
1'
Kick-off! Macedonia get the game underway.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the World Cup Qualification match between Macedonia and Spain at Nacionalna Arena Filip II Makedonski.
Macedonia are currently fifth in group G with just one win to their name, a 3-0 win over Liechtenstein in their most recent qualifier in March.
Since then though they have beaten Belarus by the same scoreline and earned a creditable 0-0 draw with Turkey in international friendlies.
Spain meanwhile are top of the group with 13 points from their five matches, however only goal difference separates them from Italy in second.
They come into the game unbeaten in their last nine international matches, including a comprehensive 8-0 win over Liechtenstein earlier in the group stages.
Macedonia may have endured a difficult qualifying campaign so far, but they do have Ilija Nestorovski in their ranks, a man who has four goals in qualifying so far and he starts up front for the home side alongside former Inter striker Goran Pandev.
Spain head coach Julen Lopetegui has resisted the temptation to name a weakened side for this game, with David De Gea, Sergio Ramos and Andres Iniesta all starting, along with striker Diego Costa meaning Alvaro Morata has to settle for a place among the substitutes.
Spain ran out 4-0 winners when the two sides met at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes in the reverse fixture, although they needed two late goals from Nacho Monreal and Aritz Aduriz to make sure of the points.
Half-time: Macedonia 0-2 Spain
Spain lead at the break thanks to goals from Silva and Costa, however it could and probably should have been three, with Isco, who has arguably been Spain’s best player, wasting a great opportunity at the end of the half.
Spain will want a third goal early in the second half to kill this game off, while Macedonia, who struggled to get out of their own half for large parts of the first period, may well have to look to a change in system in order to get themselves back into this game.
Full-time: Macedonia 1-2 Spain
Spain maintain their unbeaten record in this qualifying campaign thanks to goals from David Silva and Diego Costa. It was far from convincing though and Macedonia made things interesting with a second half goal from Stefan Ristovski, but Julen Lopetegui’s side held on to secure the three points. That's all from us for today, see you soon!
