Reyes is booked for his foul leading up to the incident.
90' +5
H. Herrera gets yellow.
Three yellow cards handed out, quite incredibly. There could have been a couple of reds dished out there, but the referee has opted to be lenient in distributing punishment. Herrera who's shown yellow for his involvement in the scuffle.
90' +4
The referee is over looking at the video replay now to decide on how the cards need to be distributed here. This will take some time to figure out, so we should play well beyond the four minutes of added time.
90' +2
Into the second of four minutes of stoppage-time and it's turning into an all-out brawl! Chaos in every regard here as a tug in the back of the shirt from Reyes awards New Zealand a free-kick, and tempers boil over after! Punches are thrown as both teams gather in a heated melee! It's Wrestlemania in Sochi!
90'
CLEARED OFF THE LINE! Smith comes to New Zealand's rescue! Aquino produces another remarkable pull-back, this one for Jimenez. The striker threads his strike through the legs of Marinovic, but Smith slides in quite spectacularly to clear the effort off the line!
88'
Into the final minutes and you wouldn't want to bet against another goal being scored in this match. It remains incredibly open, far too much so for Mexico's liking. El Tri love to attack, but leading this late it's surprising that they haven't tightened up at the back.
86'
OFF THE BAR!! Was that the chance for New Zealand?! Thomas lines up a terrific strike from just over 20 yards that beats Talavera, but rattles off the woodwork! Back the other way come Mexico and Marinovic makes a great save of his own to deny Jimenez!
84'
STAT: New Zealand have lost nine of their 10 Confederations Cup matches all-time (D1).

A final change for New Zealand sees Monty Patterson replace Ingham.

Description
81'
It's Mexico who are continuing on in attack here, despite New Zealand being the ones who need the goal. The Kiwi's need a result here or they will be eliminated, regardless of how they do against Portugal in their final group match.
79'
New Zealand don't take kindly to this as Mexico put the ball out of play with Fabian down. The midfielder took a stray arm to the face, but it really didn't appear to be all that bad. Precious time running off the clock here as New Zealand need to find an equaliser.
77'
THAT WOULD HAVE SEALED IT! Peralta just loves playing against New Zealand, doesn't he? The striker runs half the length of the pitch, beating defenders rather incredibly as he negotiates passage into the area. He does all the hard work, but just can't get the finish right in the end, lifting his strike over the bar!
75'
STAT: Oribe Peralta now has six goals in three competitive matches against New Zealand.
73'
K. Barbarouses enters the game and replaces M. Rojas.
New Zealand's second change sees Kosta Barbarouses replaces Rojas. They're going for broke, as they should.
72'
O. Peralta has scored a goal for Mexico! Assist by J. Aquino.
MEXICO COMPLETE THE TURNAROUND! Aquino surges down the left and gets beyond a defender before pulling it back perfectly for Peralta, who places a first-time finish off the near post and in!
Aquino finally beats his marker and winds up picking up the assist. It's been coming.
70'
Into the final 20 minutes and everything is still to play for! These sides both have a hunger for goals and it's making for some incredible viewing. It really is on a knife-edge!
68'

History is made here as Rafa Marquez becomes the second-oldest player to appear in a Confederations Cup match as he replaces Moreno.
66'
STAT: New Zealand have conceded 26 goals in their previous 10 Confederations Cup matches, scoring just two.
64'
New Zealand are back in the game again, showing some fight here as they get back in the ascendency. There's a wonderful tempo to this game as it all sets up here for a grandstand finish!
62'
Immediate impact from Tuiloma who wins a free-kick just over 25 yards out from the Mexican goal, as he's tripped up from behind by Araujo. The opportunity is squandered in the end, however, as Rojas lifts an effort miles over the bar.
60'
New Zealand are starting to crumble a bit here. Their lead has evaporated and Mexico are looking capable of completely turning this around. It's one-way traffic here, as the Kiwi defence continue to find themselves under relentless pressure - Reyes sending a header straight at Marinovic with their latest chance.
58'
B. Tuiloma enters the game and replaces C. Lewis.
New Zealand make their first change of the night as Marseille's Bill Tuiloma replaces Lewis.
56'
STAT: Mexico have claimed victory in both of their previous competitive matches against New Zealand, 5-1 at the Azteca and 4-2 in Wellington, in the intercontinental play-off in qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
54'
R. Jiménez has scored a goal for Mexico! Assist by M. Fabián.
Fabian provides the assist.
PARITY RESTORED IN SOCHI! An absolutely blinding start to this second half, and it's game on now! Aquino makes a strong run and picks out Fabian, who then lays it off for Jimenez. The striker turns atop the area and drives a strike into the top corner, with Marinovic not able to get enough of a touch!
53'
OUTSTANDING FROM TALAVERA! Wood times his run brilliantly to get on the end of a terrific ball over the top from McGlinchey. He has only Talavera to beat, and all the time in the world to do so, but the keeper dives out to pluck the ball away from his feet, quite remarkably! That should have been 2-0!
52'
Mexico pouring it on here in the early stages of the second half. No respite for New Zealand as the struggle to clear their lines. Fabian bends a first-time effort inches wide of the top corner on the end of another crafty move from the CONCACAF outfit.
50'
MEXICO SHOULD BE LEVEL! Aquino gets on the end of a scramble at the far post, forcing Marinovic into an exquisite save. Pressure stays on and Dos Santos is teed up from 15 yards, but he slices agonisingly over the bar!
48'
Better from Mexico who show a bit of urgency coming out of the gate here. Jimenez, who has been a spectator thus far, gets a chance to shoot from range, which he takes, but a deflection takes the sting out of the effort and into the arms of Marinovic.
46'
H. Herrera enters the game and replaces O. Alanís.
Mexico make their second change at the break as Hector Herrera replaces Alanis. This should prompt a change in formation, as well.
Back underway in Sochi!
45' +3
HALF-TIME: MEXICO 0-1 NEW ZEALAND.
45' +2
NEARLY A SECOND! A long ball over the top is chased down by Wood, who again finds himself behind this struggling Mexican defence, but Talavera bails them out as he surges off his line and out of the area in a flash to head the ball to safety.
45'
There will be two minutes added on at the end of this first half.
44'
Well would you believe it?! Mexico are being made to rue their lackadaisical approach, with Osorio's team selection coming back to haunt him. He's rested so many key players, and the wealth of changes have really haunted their team chemistry. New Zealand have been the better side and are thoroughly deserving of this lead.
42'
C. Wood has scored a goal for New Zealand! Assist by C. Lewis.
Lewis provides the assist.
NEW ZEALAND DRAW FIRST BLOOD! That certainly wasn't in the script! It's a surprise lead for the Kiwi's but certainly a deserved one! Lewis slides in a tidy throughball to send Wood clean in on goal, and this time the striker makes no mistake in negotiating the beating of Talavera!
39'
Juan Carlos Osorio's touchline outburst seems to have had the opposite of the desired effect, as it's New Zealand who have responded better to the incident. They're growing in confidence with each passing minute, while Mexico stutter towards the interval.
37'
KIWIS COMING CLOSER! Wood is played through via a sumptuous throuball that carves through the heart of the Mexico defence. He takes the pass with a strong first touch, but can't get enough on his final effort to really test Talavera! He should be doing better there.
35'
Well these last 10 minutes have really upped the intensity between these otherwise unfamiliar foes. The hate is brewing now, and it's added intrigue to an already exciting contest here in Sochi. Who will go on to get that all-important first goal?
33'
H. Moreno enters the game and replaces C. Salcedo.
Salcedo's match is done, and perhaps his tournament as he's carried off on a stretcher with his arm in a sling. Hector Moreno is on here to replace him.
31'
STAT: New Zealand have failed to score in their last five Confederations Cup matches, dating back to a 3-1 defeat to Colombia in 2003.
29'
It's all boiling over here! Salcedo stays down after a nasty injury inflicted on him by Wood. The injury was enough to play Wood onside for his most recent chance. Juan Carlos Osorio feels New Zealand should have put the ball out of play, and he's letting Anthony Hudson hear it, shouting obscenities at the Kiwi's manager from the touchline.
27'
MASSIVE STOP! What an opportunity that was for New Zealand! Wood is gifted a glorious opportunity on the edge of the box, dead centre, and tries to bend an effort in at the far post, but Talavera reacts splendidly to make the save!
26'
R. Thomas gets yellow.
Thomas goes hard into the back of Fabian in midfield, earning himself the game's first yellow card.
23'
Damm is proving a good outlet for Mexico as they enjoy some efficient attacks down the right flank. Wynne is coming under some real pressure, but Smith is providing some good support, at least for the time being, to help bail him out of trouble. Still something to keep an eye on, though.
21'
FIRST SHOT! New Zealand prove a threat once again from a dead-ball situation, as Tommy Smith rises to meet a corner, forcing Talavera into a smart save. The Kiwi's are looking very potent with the ball in the air.
19'
There's a lovely tempo to this match as Mexico up the urgency, while New Zealand remain eager to push forward in numbers when they win the ball back. It's all proved to make for some entertaining viewing, but the chances have yet to follow.
17'
STAT: Mexico have lost both of their previous matches against the OFC representatives at the Confederations Cup, each against Australia, 2-0 in 2001 and 3-1 in 1997.
15'
Mexico are getting into a bit of a rhythm now, seemingly awake again after their sluggish start. They're beginning to spend a lot of time in possession, while New Zealand are being made to drop further and further back in defence.
13'
Better here from Mexico as a pair of clever routines from dead-ball situations finally see the New Zealand defence come under a bit of pressure. They are breached the second time of asking, but an errant header sees the pressure relieved.
11'
BIG CHANCE! A New Zealand free-kick is floated in from the left and puts the Mexican defence under all sorts of pressure. The delivery is flicked on and nearly comes through for Lewis, but Reyes is just able to slide in and knock behind for a corner. Mexico do well to deal with the subsequent set piece, but Talavera gifts possession straight back with a dreadful pass out of play from the resulting goal kick.
9'
New Zealand should take great confidence from how their have faired here from the off, thwarting every attempt Mexico have made to break forward. The Kiwi's are smartly working the ball around in midfield, looking to take advantage of this slow start from El Tri.
7'
STAT: Mexico have won all five of their previous matches against New Zealand, outscoring them 16-4.
5'
Mexico have yet to get their footing under them as New Zealand look the brighter of the two sides thus far. The OFC representatives have enjoyed some prominent spells in possession, while Mexico have struggled to pass their way forward in attack.
3'
Enticing stuff to start the match in Sochi, with New Zealand very much involved in the early proceedings - Zwolle's Ryan Thomas especially involved thus far, narrowly missing the target with a strike from range. If these opening stages are any indication, they are very much up for the match today.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! New Zealand in black as they get us underway, attacking right to left, with Mexico in green.
Hello and welcome to live coverage from the Fisht Stadium in Sochi as Mexico clash with New Zealand in Group A action!
A Hector Moreno equaliser in stoppage-time salvaged Mexico a 2-2 draw in their opener against Portugal, while New Zealand sputtered to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of hosts Russia, leaving both sides with a craving for three points today as they aim to take a step towards the knockout stage.
Free-scoring Mexico are considered heavy favourites in this game and should be riding a wave of confidence following their dramatic opener against Portugal. A win would leave them needing just a draw in their final match against Russia to progress, but a slip here today leaves their qualification hopes hanging by a thread.
New Zealand will need to turn desperation into intensity, as they would be eliminated with a defeat tonight in Sochi – and it is a revenge spot for them after being trounced by Mexico on aggregate in the intercontinental play-off to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
SUBS: Cota, Marquez, J. Dos Santos, Layun, Vela, Ochoa, Hernandez, Moreno, Herrera, Guardado, R. Reyes, Lozano.
MEXICO (3-5-2): Talavera; Salcedo, Araujo, Alanis; Damm, D. Reyes, G. Dos Santos, Fabian, Aquino; Jimenez, Peralta.
Juan Carlos Osorio makes wholesale changes from the draw with Portugal, as only Carlos Salcedo, Diego Reyes and Raul Jimenez keep their place in the side. El Tri have also adopted a three-man backline tonight, as Salcedo is joined by Nestor Araujo and Oswaldo Alanis.

Their spots are filled by Alfredo Talavera, Araujo, Alanis, Jurgen Damm, Giovani dos Santos, Marco Fabian, Javier Aquino and Oribe Peralta.
Anthony Hudson makes two changes to his side. Brisbane's 17-year-old full-back Dane Ingham replaces Kip Colvey, while Auckland City's Clayton Lewis is called upon to partner Chris Wood up top, at the expense of Kosta Barbarouses.
Chris Wood has New Zealand in line for their first Confederations Cup victory at their 11th time of asking, as his goal separates the two sides at the end of 45 minutes. The striker had a plethora of chances to break the deadlock as the Kiwi's have been far and ahead the better of the two teams as we enter the interval with Juan Carlos Osorio being made to rue is team selection.
Mexico take a big step towards securing their place in the knockout stage as second-half goals from Raul Jimenez and Oribe Peralta secure them victory, completing the turnaround after Chris Wood sent New Zealand into the interval with the lead. The Kiwi's are pointless through two matches as they are eliminated from advancing to the next round.
That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
