POST!! It's Robson-Kanu again!!! A shot from McClean found its way into the feet of an unmarked Robson-Kanu, and with the flag staying down, he was one-on-one with Bravo inside the box. He smashes it across goal, and it hits the outside of the post and bounces out! How did he not score?!
90' +3
Gibbs gets to a long ball ahead of Walker, but there's no support and he has to go backwards.
90' +2
McClean makes an interception and thinks he can start a quick attack, but he's penalised for handball. It's largely West Brom in these closing stages though.
90' +1
Robson-Kanu gives away a free-kick. It hasn't been his night really, he's had several opportunities tonight and not been able to take them.
90'
FIVE minutes of added time! Can West Brom snatch an equaliser and force extra-time?
89'
CHANCE! Morrison gets away from Toure, and curls a delightful ball into the box, where Robson-Kanu rises to meet it, but can't direct the header and it goes out harmlessly for a goal-kick. That may have been their last clear-cut opportunity.
88'
A lofted ball from the right finds Krychowiak at the back post, but it's too high and the midfielder can't get any power into his header. Bravo collects.
87'
The home supporters are roaring their side forward, and McClean delivers a whipped cross, but Danilo can clear at the back post as it's just too high.
86'
No, they can't. It's overhit and wasted, once again.
85'
Danilo goes into the book for fouling Phillips on the touchline. Can the Baggies take advantage of the set-piece?
Minute
Description
84'
Danilo gets yellow.
Krychowiak plays a lovely ball forward with the outside of his boot, but Bravo is off his line quickly to clear outside his box.
81'
CHANCE! A succession of West Brom corners pile the pressure on City, and Rondon heads narrowly wide! The home side are still pushing!
80'
J. McClean enters the game and replaces C. Yacob.
Albion's goalscorer Yacob is replaced by McClean in Pulis' final change.
Sterling was played through and got away with pace, but he dallied too long on the ball and Foster came out well to smother. He doesn't quite have the composure of his German teammate Sane.
79'
Fernandinho enters the game and replaces L. Sané.
Sané's night is over and he certainly contributed! Fernando comes on to provide more defensive solidity in midfield.
77'
L. Sané has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by Bernardo Silva.
CHANCE! Bravo makes an excellent save, beating away Morrison's effort away to his right after he jinked into the box.
The ball was moved quickly from back to front by City, and Silva did well to play Sane in down the right nice and early.
GOAL! What a strike from Sane! Having nearly conceded, City race down the other end. Sane cuts inside onto his favoured left foot, and cutrls a sumptuous finish into the top left corner! That was a truly quality strike by the youngster!
75'
CHANCE! Phillips races down the right and does brilliantly to get beyond his man. His low, fizzed cross finds the arriving Robson-Kanu perfectly, but he side-foots wide! He had to hit the target there, and test Bravo.
74'
West Brom are pressing very very high now, forcing Bravo to go long rather than short. There's a belief now that they could really grab the winner here!
72'
C. Yacob has scored a goal for West Bromwich Albion! Assist by K. Gibbs.
Gibbs whipped a good corner in, but both Evans and Yacob were unmarked in the centre. The marking was simply not good enough there from City.
GOAL! West Brom equalise!!! The ball is played long for Rondon to chase, and he causes enough panic to force Stones to clear for a corner with Bravo coming out to collect. The corner comes in and Yacob is completely unmarked, and fires through Bravo's legs - who could have done better. City will regret their wasted chances now!
70'
CHANCE! City could be 2-0 up! They race down the other end through Sane on the right, but instead of going for goal, he tries to square the ball to Jesus, but it's just behind him and he was crowded out anyway. The game is certainly open now!
68'
CHANCE! What a miss by Morrison!!! Rondon and Robson-Kanu play a lovely one-two in the City box before slipping Morrison in, but with just the keeper to beat, he fires low and agonisingly wide! That was their chance to equalise!
67'
S. Rondón enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
Rondón replaces Rodriguez as Pulis desperately searches for an equaliser.
66'
R. Sterling gets yellow.
Sterling is booked for grappling with Nyom. He had a fistful of the full-back's shorts, but is by no means taking the referee's decision quietly!
65'
Dawson fouls Jesus, lunging into him as the forward turned away. That's not the first bump he's had today.
62'
M. Phillips enters the game and replaces G. McAuley.
Phillips comes on for McAuley as Pulis rolls the dice. They have nothing to lose, and look like they're going to have a real go at City. West Brom return to a back four as Phillips takes his place on the flank.
61'
CHANCE! Foster bails his side out again as Sterling darts past two defenders, before firing a shot towards the near post. The keeper pulls out another save though, and keeps the Baggies in it.
60'
West Brom have started to get a foothold in this game. However, their sustained attack fizzles out as substitute Walker shields the ball out for a goal-kick.
59'
K. Walker enters the game and replaces İ. Gündoğan.
L. Sané gets yellow.
Walker replaces the German, and slots in at right-back. Danilo moves to left-back, while Delph takes Gundogan's place in central midfield.
Yellow card Leroy Sané
58'
Sane's corner almost finds Toure at the back post, but it's headed clear. Gundogan has gone down the tunnel, and will ahve to be replaced. Unfortunate for the midfielder, who had just returned from injury.
57'
Gundogan limps off the pitch after receiving treatment. Meanwhile, City line-up their free-kick from about 25 yards out. Toure smashes his first effort into the wall, and his second is deflected for a corner.
54'
C. Yacob gets yellow.
Yacob is booked for a cynical foul on Gundogan, who had hurtled halfway down the pitch, leading a fast City break. The German has stayed down. This is his first game for the senior squad in nine months after long-term injury problems.
52'
Toure is on the end of a shove in the back from Robson-Kanu, who catches the back of the Ivorian's ankle with his studs. No card though for the forward.
51'
West Brom have certainly started this half brighter than the last though, and look to be really pushing for this equaliser.
50'
Nyom wastes a good crossing opportunity from a dangerous-looking West Brom attack, playing the ball low and seeing it cleared easily.
48'
Sterling shows a turn of pace and he races down the left, but his cross is blocked for a corner. The cross goes out for another corner, which is worked short, but West Brom clear through Nyom.
47'
Rodriguez glances Dawson's cross across the face of goal, but Gibbs can neither turn in goalwards nor keep it in play on the far side.
46'
West Brom get us going again in the second half as they look to find some way back into this game.
45' +1
CHANCE! Sterling advances down the left as Baggies defenders back off, and curls one towards the top corner, only for Foster to beat it away to safety! Great save from the keeper there.
45'
Delph earns himself a yellow card for a reckless lunge on Nyom, who had him beaten all ends up for pace.
Krychowiak wastes the free-kick though, overhitting it all the way out for a City throw on the far side. West Brom really need to take advantage of such promising set-piece situations.
44'
F. Delph gets yellow.
43'
Stones makes a great sliding challenge on Rodriguez, before Mangala heads convincingly away from the cross the comes back in. City are trying to prove that they can do it all!
42'
Leroy Sane tries to bend one into the far corner from distance, but he can't get quite enough curl into the shot and it flies harmlessly wide.
41'
Sterling is then felled as the half draws to a close. West Brom are clearly frustrated at conceding that early goal and having to chase the ball fruitlessly all half.
40'
Gundogan loses the ball to Morrison, who lays the ball off to Yacob, who is then hacked down by Yaya Toure.
38'
Delph tucks into central midfield from left-back, before curling the ball into the area for Jesus, but his header is blocked for a corner. The ball is worked short, and West Brom eventually retrieve possession and clear.
37'
Sterling jinks his way down the left, before going down just inside the box, but the referee waves play on and the ball is cleared.
36'
West Brom win a free-kick of their on in the City half, which is launched into the box, but McAuley is caught offside and City can regroup.
35'
City have a free-kick for a foul on Jesus, who goes off to receive treatment on his wrist from the earlier clash with McAuley. The free-kick comes to nothing, but Jesus returns with his finger strapped and is okay to continue.
34'
Morrison pinches the ball from Silva, and the Baggies attack down the flanks. Nyom lofts the ball into the box, where it is met by Rodriguez, but he can't get enough on it and Bravo can catch comfortably.
32'
West Brom advance into the City half in numbers, but City nick it back and break quickly. The home side regroup just in time though, and the counter-attack is snuffed out, before City win a corner.
31'
Gundogan has a chance to run at the defence, and gets a shot away, but it is blocked and West Brom can clear.
30'
Sane lofts a wonderful ball from the centre into Jesus who is rushing in from the right. He doesn't take the chance to get a volley away though, and is closed down quickly.
29'
Jesus is felled by McAuley, who overcommits as the Brazilian turns him. No card this time though.
28'
A drilled pass is played into Sterling with his back to goal. He takes a neat touch to turn with it but there's just too much on the pass and the ball runs through to Foster.
27'
Sane is sent through down the left, but Foster comes out well to meet him and the ball goes out for a corner, which comes to nothing.
25'
CHANCE! Sterling wriggles free of numerous challenges, and the ball is worked out to the left and then back to the right, before Jesus is played through in the box. He sends McAuley one way as he cuts inside onto his left, but blazes over the bar.
24'
City's three attacking midfielders in Sane, Silva and Sterling have all been given great freedom, popping up all over the pitch and interchanging positions fluidly.
22'
West Brom try in vain to press City, but they are largely chasing shadows here as the visitors work the ball around easily.
20'
Sterling drives down the left, and his whipped cross evades everyone, but is kept in. Danilo eventually has an effort from range, which is deflected for a corner. Gundogan delivers with pace, but it's cleared away for the time being.
18'
Danilo advances down the right, and finds Gundogan unmarked with a great pass. The German's shot is blocked away for a corner though, which is taken short to Sane. His cross to the back post finds Mangala, but Foster manages to keep it out! City are carving out even more chances here.
17'
Mangala then concedes a free-kick for a foul on the Wales international. The set-piece comes to nothing though.
16'
Gibbs tosses a long ball into the box from a throw in, but Robson-Kanu is penalised for a handball as he attempts to control it.
14'
Manchester City had 54 touches of the ball in the build-up to the goal, while West Brom had yet to touch it! Scintillating stuff from Guardiola's City.
11'
West Brom's tactics going forward have a very clear, established pattern. They are playing long balls down the City left, probably to use their forwards' pace on the break, and to take advantage of Delph - playing in an unfamiliar left-back position - and the much-maligned Mangala, who is next to him.
10'
West Brom press high through Krychowiak, who wins the ball in the City box, and Robson-Kanu has the ball in the net - only for a foul to be given against the Polish midfielder.
7'
Sane is robbed by Evans in the West Brom half, and the ball is almost immediately launched forward. It's a little too long though, and Bravo can collect again.
6'
A second corner from the left is too close to Bravo, who gathers easily under no challenge.
5'
That certianly won't have been according to Pulis' gameplan! West Brom now have to commit more men forward, and they win a corner on the left in process, which is headed clear.
3'
L. Sané has scored a goal for Manchester City!
GOAL! I don't think West Brom have had a kick! It's been all City and they eventually work the ball down the right, the ball comes in and Foster makes a decent save from Gundogan's close range effort, but Sane is there to finish it off! 1-0 City!
1'
And we're off! Manchester City get us underway.
The pattern is established early on - West Brom have retreated deep into their own half already as City knock the ball about with ease.
Visitors Manchester City come into the game in sparkling form, having won their last game 6-0 against Watford in the Premier League, taking them joint-top of the table alongside neighbours Manchester United.
The big win follows similarly large victories against Liverpool and Feyenoord, who they defeated 4-0 and 5-0, respectively, giving them a whopping 15-0 aggregate scoreline so far this month.
West Brom, however, are winless since their 3-1 away victory over Accrington Stanley in this competition, having been held to home draws by West Ham and Stoke, and losing 3-1 at Brighton, leaving them 10th in the Premier League table.
And the head-to-head record doesn't make for good reading for the home side either - West Brom are winless in their last 14 meetings with Manchester City in all competitions, losing in 13 of those fixtures. In fact, the last time the Baggies beat today's opposition was in 2010, when they knocked them out of this competition at the Hawthorns, claiming a 2-1 victory.
The two sides have met four times in the League Cup in total, including the 1970 final, which City won 2-1.
Despite having knocked City out once, West Brom actually have a very poor record against Premier League opposition in the League Cup, having been knocked out themselves in seven of their last nine meetings with top-flight clubs.
And the teams are out! We'll start with the home side.
Manchester City lifted the trophy in both 2014 and 2016, and have made it to the fourth round in each of the last four seasons. Tony Pulis has reached the fourth round of the League Cup five times in his career, last doing so with Stoke in 2011.
West Brom XI (5-3-2): Foster; Gibbs, McAuley, Evans, Dawson, Nyom; Krychowiak, Morrison, Yacob; Robson-Kanu, Rodriguez
West Brom substitutes: Rondon, Phillips, Myhill, McClean, Barry, Hegazi, Field
Manchester City XI (4-2-3-1): Bravo; Delph, Mangala, Stones, Danilo; Gundogan, Toure; Sane, Bernardo Silva, Sterling; Gabriel Jesus
Manchester City substitutes: Walker, Adarabioyo, Fernandinho, Ederson, Zinchenko, Fodem, Brahim Diaz
West Brom are without England international Jake Livermore, who has been given time off by Baggies boss Tony Pulis. Nacer Chadli (thigh) and Oliver Burke (hamstring) are not included, but the home side are boosted by the return of Gareth McAuley from a thigh problem.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola rests Ederson in favour of Claudio Bravo in goal, while club captain Vincent Kompany (calf) is unable to recover in time. Ilkay Gundogan (knee), however, has been passed fit and starts alongside Yaya Toure in midfield, who is involved for the first time this season.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the EFL Cup fixture between West Brom and Manchester City at the Hawthorns.
Guardiola has also rung the changes, as only Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and John Stones keep their places from the 6-0 victory over Watford.
Tony Pulis makes four changes to his West Brom team, with Matt Phillips, Chris Brunt, Gareth Barry, and Ahmed Hegazi all making way for Robson-Kanu, Claudio Yacob, Allan Nyom, and the fit-again McAuley.
And that's half-time! Somehow, the score has stayed at 1-0, despite numerous chances for the visitors. The scoring was opened early on though, as German winger Sane struck before the home side had even had a touch of the ball! If it stays like this, it will surely be a comfortable victory for City, who have played some wonderful football tonight.
And that's it! A thrilling game comes to a close! Sane produced a wonderful double, putting his side ahead twice. His first came before the hosts had even touched the ball, and his second was a wonderful finish at the end of a quick counter-attack. In between, West Brom found an equaliser from an unlikely source in Yacob, who scored his first goal in nearly four years from Gibbs' corner, but it wasn't enough and City make the fourth round of the EFL Cup for the fifth successive season. West Brom's miserable record in the League Cup against Premier League opposition continues, although the Baggies fought tooth-and-nail in the second half particularly, but this City side showed off their free-flowing attacking football in spades tonight.
