Sokratis pushes deep into the Madrid half of the pitch and manages to get a shot away from 25 yards out. His effort deflects off a white shirt and towards Aubameyang at the near post, but the forward can't quite latch onto the ball and loses out to Navas.
90' +2
What a save by Burki! A curling corner is swung into the heart of the Dortmund box and manages to pick out Ramos, who pulls off an excellent diving header. The centre-back looks set to grab a goal, but Burki has other ideas and stops the low effort with a brilliant one-handed stop.
90' +1
Dani Ceballos enters the game and replaces L. Modrić.
Madrid have made a late switch, with Dani Ceballos coming on to replace Modric.
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be three minutes of added time.
89'
Just wide from Modric! The Croatian bursts into the right-hand side of Dortmund penalty area as he tries to find a fourth goal for the visitors, but his low shot is deflected just past the near post by Piszczek.
88'
Great goalkeeping by Burki! A terribly placed pass from Piszczek rolls straight to Asensio and sets up the youngster to burst into the box and shoot, but the youngster can't get the better of Burki and loses out to the Dortmund goalkeeper.
87'
Dortmund patiently knock the ball around as they try to find a way through the sea of white shirts camped in front of them. Weigl is eventually able to swing in a cross from deep down the right wing, but it fails to find Aubameyang and is well dealt with by Nacho.
85'
Lucas Vázquez enters the game and replaces G. Bale.
Bale looks to have picked up a slight injury after going down off the ball, and he gingerly makes his way off the pitch to be replaced by Lucas Vazquez for the final five minutes.
84'
Yarmolenko battles with Carvajal deep down the left flank and wins Dortmund a corner. It's swung in low by Castro and finds Piszczek at the near post, but the full-back can't make decent contact with the ball and loses out to a group of white shirts.
83'
Once again, so much space opens up for Madrid due the amount of Dortmund players camped inside the visitors' half of the pitch, but Asensio can't quite get the better of Toprak and loses out to the centre-back.
Minute
Description
81'
Chance for Aubameyang! Nacho catches Pulisic over on the right wing, resulting in a free-kick for the home side in a promising position. It's curled in by Yarmolenko and finds Aubameyang, who meets the ball well but can't beat Navas with his downward header.
79'
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by L. Modrić.
Modric did really well to burst towards the hosts' box before teeing up Ronaldo, but, once again, Dortmund left themselves horribly exposed at the back after piling so many bodies forward.
GOAL! Ronaldo all but wraps up the win for Madrid! A Dortmund attacking move breaks down, and once again they're hit on a swift counter-attack by the visitors. Modric sprints forward and quickly sets up Ronaldo, who penetrates the penalty area before beating Burki at the near post with a thumping low strike.
78'
Excellent interception by Toljan! Bale looks set to break into the Dortmund penalty area and go one-on-one with Burki at the end of another blisteringly quick Madrid counter-attack, but Toljan is there to win the ball from the Welshman with a well-timed sliding tackle.
77'
Pulisic makes an immediate impact down the right flank as he quickly wins a corner for the home side. It's curled into the heart of the box and towards Yarmolenko, but Casemiro is there to clear the danger without too many problems.
76'
C. Pulišić enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
Marco Asensio enters the game and replaces Isco.
Madrid have made their first alteration of the night, with Isco making way for Marco Asensio.
Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic has come on to take the place of Gotze in Dortmund's third and final change.
75'
Excellent save by Burki! Isco is left in acres of space over on the left flank, allowing him to burst forward on a brilliant run towards the box. He then cuts inside and unleashes a great low shot towards the near post, but Burki does really well to get a hand on it to stop the Spaniard from making it 3-1.
73'
Ronaldo darts towards the edge of the Dortmund box as he tries to latch onto a long ball forward from Modric, but he can't quite reach it ahead of Burki, who darts out quickly to deal with the danger.
71'
Big chance for Isco! Ramos, who has thoroughly enjoyed himself when attacking this evening, breaks forward once again before firing a clever cross into the penalty area. It picks out Isco, who brings the ball down well before firing a thumping strike just a yard or two over the top of the crossbar.
70'
Isco dances his way in from the left wing before setting up Ronaldo on the edge of the Dortmund box. The Portuguese quickly pokes the ball over to Carvajal, who then chips a deft cross into the heart of the penalty area, but Piszczek is the only player there to meet it.
68'
Another dangerous cross is fired into the Madrid penalty area, this time from Yarmolenko. It's sent towards Aubameyang, but, despite his best efforts, the Gabonese forward can't quite reach the ball in front of goal.
67'
So close from Aubameyang! Gotze lifts a deflected pass over the Madrid back line and towards Aubameyang, who meets the ball ahead of Navas on the edge of the six-yard box but can only poke it narrowly wide of the near post.
65'
It's end to end stuff at the moment! First, Yarmolenko is almost set up inside the Madrid box, before Bale breaks down the right flank only to be dispossessed by a brilliant sliding tackle from Sokratis.
64'
Kroos steps up and curls a cross into the Dortmund penalty area from the set-piece, but the ball in from the German is slightly underhit and fails to find a team-mate in front of goal.
63'
J. Weigl gets yellow.
Weigl's only been on the pitch for a few minutes, but he's already received a yellow card for wiping out Ronaldo with a rash sliding challenge from behind. This free-kick is in a good position for Madrid 30 yards away from goal...
62'
Huge opportunity for Castro! A Madrid attack breaks down, allowing Dortmund to counter quickly. Yarmolenko flies down the right wing before teeing up Castro with a clever pass into the penalty area, but the midfielder's first touch is poor and denies him an opportunity to get a shot away.
60'
J. Weigl enters the game and replaces N. Şahin.
Mahmoud Dahoud enters the game and replaces J. Toljan.
And the second is Mahmoud Dahoud, with Toljan making way. It looks as if Dortmund have switched to a back three.
Dortmund have made a double substitution as they try to find a way back into the game. The first player to come on is Julian Weigl, who replaces Sahin.
59'
Once again, Aubameyang makes a clever run into the middle of the Madrid box as he tries to latch onto a curling cross, but this time Ramos is able to read the danger and cut it out with an outstretched foot.
58'
Chance for Nacho! Carvajal is bundled over on the right wing, resulting in a free-kick for Madrid in a dangerous position. The free-kick is swung in and finds Nacho in front of goal, but the defender can't get the better of Burki with his header at the far post.
56'
And now Yarmolenko goes close! The Ukrainian sets up a quick counter-attack that he almost finishes as he slides towards the ball at the near post, but a low cross in from Toljan ends up missing his boot by the narrowest of margins.
55'
Ronaldo cuts inside from the left flank and quickly curls a looping cross over to the far post. Bale rises high and looks set to reach the ball just a few yards away from goal, but he's beaten to it by Toljan at the vital moment.
54'
P. Aubameyang has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by G. Castro.
GOAL! Dortmund are back in it! Castro cuts onto his right foot over on the left wing and quickly whips a dangerous cross into the heart of the penalty area. It easily manages to pick out Aubameyang, who sticks out a foot ahead of Ramos and comfortably gets the better of Navas at the near post.
That really was a brilliant ball into the box by Castro, who wasn't closed down quickly enough by the Madrid defence and was able to carve out a pocket of space for himself.
52'
Ö. Toprak gets yellow.
Toprak flies into Isco from behind and catches the Madrid man with a mistimed sliding challenge, resulting in him becoming the first Dortmund player to receive a booking this evening.
51'
Madrid quickly win the ball back from the restart before putting yet more pressure on the struggling Dortmund defensive line, but this time the hosts are just about to deal with Bale before he can link up with Ronaldo once again.
49'
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by G. Bale.
GOAL! Madrid have doubled their lead! Once again, Dortmund leave themselves exposed due to their high back line. Bale breaks down the left wing and beats Sokratis before squaring a pass into the middle of the box, where Ronaldo beats Toljan and smashes the ball past Burki.
That was really good play by Bale, but Dortmund should have done better to deal with his run through the back line. Sokratis was caught too far up the pitch and was never going to beat the Welshman once he was able to get onto the ball.
48'
Ramos embarks on a marauding run as he flies deep into the Dortmund half of the pitch and towards their penalty area. He then tees up Bale to whip a cross over to the far post, where Ronaldo rises high but can't quite reach the ball.
47'
Early chance for Dortmund! A looping cross is launched over the top of the Madrid penalty area and picks out Yarmolenko in front of goal. The Ukrainian does really well to meet the ball before nodding it down towards Aubameyang, who throws his body towards it but is beaten by Raphael Varane at the vital moment.
46'
We're underway once again!
45' +1
Free header for Ramos! Madrid push forward on what should be their final attack before the half-time break, and they manage to win themselves a corner over on the left wing. It's curled into the middle of the penalty area and finds Ramos all alone, but, somehow, the centre-back ends up sending his glancing header wide of the goal.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be just one minute of added time.
44'
Another great chance for Ronaldo to double Madrid's lead! Once again, the Portuguese breaks towards the hosts' box and plays a quick one-two with Carvajal before shooting, but his low strike fails to find the target and rolls just wide of the near post.
43'
A clever pass from Kroos bounces over to the right wing and picks out Ronaldo, who quickly cuts inside and heads towards the Dortmund penalty area. He evandes one tackle and then shoots, but Omer Toprak is easily able to block his effort.
42'
A swinging cross from Bale is deflected up into the air and towards Ronaldo in front of goal. The Portuguese rises high and tries to put off Burki, but the goalkeeper does well to collect the ball under plenty of pressure from the forward.
40'
L. Modrić gets yellow.
Modric doesn't seem to be happy with Dortmund's positioning of the ball, and he ends up receiving a booking for dissent after trying to do the referee's job for him.
The free-kick is eventually taken, but Aubameyang's side-footed strike fails to beat the wall of white camped in front of him and deflects behind for a corner over on the left flank.
39'
Dani Carvajal gets yellow.
Carvajal cynically trips Philipp as the Dortmund man tries to sprint into the penalty area, leaving the referee with no choice but to show the full-back a yellow card before awarding the home side a free-kick in a very dangerous position 25 yards away from goal.
38'
What an opportunity for Aubameyang to equalise! A brilliant pass is poked into the heart of the Madrid box and manages to pick out Aubameyang in an excellent position. The forward quickly spins and shoots, but his close-range effort rolls just past the near post before the linesman's flag is raised for offside.
36'
Yarmolenko shows good strength as he muscles his way down the right flank and towards the edge of the penalty area. He then spins and works the ball back to Sahin, who takes a quick touch before unleashing an audacious effort from 30 yards out that sails high over the top of the crossbar.
35'
Dortmund are enjoying a good spell of possession at the moment as they try to find a way back into the game. This time it's Philipp who knocks a clever pass forward as he tries to tee up a team-mate inside the visitors' box, but it's slightly overhit and Navas is easily able to meet the ball ahead of the on-rushing Gotze.
34'
Brilliant defending by Carvajal! Mario Gotze bursts towards the Madrid penalty area and quickly tries to set up Aubameyang on the edge of the box. The Gabonese forward manages to meet it, but he's immediately dispossessed by a great tackle from Carvajal.
33'
Casemiro spots a clever run into the Dortmund box by Isco and tries to pick out the attacking midfielder with a looping cross into the penalty area, but Burki reads the danger well and is there to collect the ball.
31'
Space opens up for Aubameyang just outside of the Madrid penalty area, allowing him to take on Ramos as he tries to get a shot away. He twists and turns and eventually shoots, but the defender sticks with him brilliantly and is able to stop the strike from testing Keylor Navas.
29'
G. Bale gets yellow.
The referee has reached for his yellow card for the first time tonight, and it's Bale who's received it. He seemed to catch Sokratis Papastathopoulos with a flailing arm as they battled for the ball in the air, but the decision is a slightly harsh one that the Welshman can't quite believe.
27'
A poor pass from Modric can only find Philipp, who then immediately sprints up to the Madrid penalty area. He does well to reach the box before trying to find Aubameyang in front of goal, but he's closed down by white shirts and can't pick out his side's main attacking threat.
25'
There are a few appeals for a penalty from the Dortmund players and fans after a Toljan cross in from deep down the left wing seems to hit the top of Carvajal's arm, but the referee isn't at all interested and waves play on.
23'
After several minutes on the back foot, Dortmund are able to push forward on a quick attack down the right flank. It fails to result in a chance on goal, as Modric is easily able to win the ball back for Madrid just outside of the box. He then bursts forward before teeing up Bale, who breaks into the penalty area and forces Burki into making a smart save at the near post.
21'
Burki immediately releases the ball and sets up Philipp to counter-attack over on the left wing. The youngster brings the ball down nicely before setting up Aubameyang on the edge of the penalty area, but the Gabonese forward's first touch is poor and gifts possession back to Madrid.
20'
Madrid patiently pass the ball around inside the Dortmund half of the pitch before Nacho eventually fires a low cross in from the left flank, but it deflects off a black and yellow shirt and behind for a corner that's well claimed by Burki.
18'
G. Bale has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Dani Carvajal.
GOAL! What a strike by Bale! Carvajal receives possession in the middle of the pitch and lifts a beautiful ball over the top of the Dortmund back line. Bale sprints into the penalty area and meets the cross before unleashing a world-class, first-time volley that sends the ball flying into the top right-hand corner of the net. Sublime!
That really was an excellent cross from Carvajal, who managed to pick out Bale perfectly, but once again Dortmund let themselves down with some slightly sloppy defending.
16'
A looping cross from Kroos is fired into the heart of the Dortmund penalty area and picks out Ronaldo in a promising position. The Portuguese rises high and quickly tries to nod the ball down to Bale, but he can't quite reach the Welshman and the hosts are just about able to hold on.
14'
Off the line by Ramos! The Madrid defence completely fall asleep and allow Yarmolenko to burst into plenty of space in front of goal. He then fires a deep cross over to Maximilian Philipp at the far post, setting up the former Freiburg forward to shoot first time. He does so, but Ramos is there to throw his body in the way off the strike right on the goal-line. The Dortmund players are all screaming for a penalty, and it certainly looked as if Ramos used part of his hand to block the shot.
12'
A swinging corner from the left wing initially fails to result in a chance on goal, but Madrid quickly push forward once again. Ramos dashes into the penalty area and then tries to pick out Ronaldo, but the linesman's flag is quickly raised to bring an end to another dangerous attacking move from the visitors.
11'
Vital interception by Piszczek! This time it's Ronaldo who bursts into the right-hand side of the Dortmund box before squaring the ball over to Bale, who sticks out a leg but is beaten to it by Piszczek at the far post. That looked certain to result in an opening goal for Madrid!
10'
What a chance for Dani Carvajal to open the scoring! Once again, Dortmund's high line causes problems for the home side, who struggle to deal with a lofted pass over the top. Carvajal rushes onto it and takes on Burki at the near post, but his low shot is easily saved by the goalkeeper. The full-back had Ronaldo and Bale to his left but decided not to tee them up, which certainly was the wrong option.
9'
Toni Kroos picks out Isco with a great pass down the left wing and sets up the midfielder to cut in from out wide. He then picks out Cristiano Ronaldo on the edge of the box, but the Portuguese can't get a shot away and is quickly dispossessed by Nuri Sahin.
7'
Luka Modric picks up the ball in the middle of the pitch and immediately tries to take advantage of Dortmund's high line with a quick pass over the top of the hosts' defence. Gareth Bale sprints towards the ball just outside of the penalty area, but Roman Burki is there to clear the danger with a clever piece of goalkeeping.
5'
Andriy Yarmolenko and Lukasz Piszczek link up nicely over on the right wing before the latter tries to tee up Gonzalo Castro, but the midfielder is quickly closed down by white shirts and can't quite reach the pass.
3'
Space opens up for Jeremy Toljan over on the left flank, allowing the full-back to burst towards the edge of the Madrid penalty area. He then fizzes a dangerous pass over to the far post, where Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tries to latch onto the ball but is beaten to it by Sergio Ramos.

We're off!
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Champions League group stage game between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid at Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund have been in fine goalscoring form in recent weeks, which bodes well for tonight’s big clash against a side that have endured a rocky start to the new season. This evening’s hosts have found the back of the net 14 times in just three outings, although they struggled in their opening Champions League game and were beaten 3-1 away from home by Tottenham Hotspur.
The Black and Yellows are thoroughly enjoying life under new boss Peter Bosz, who has firmly managed to get the best out of the side since he took over from Thomas Tuchel in the summer. Unbeaten in the Bundesliga and top of the table after six games, Dortmund will be looking to bounce back from the defeat at Wembley as they attempt to get their first European points on the board.
Madrid remain the favourites to top Group H come December and currently sit top thanks to a comfortable victory against APOEL two weeks ago, but their underwhelming domestic form remains a real concern, despite Saturday’s narrow win away to Deportivo Alaves. Los Blancos tasted defeat against Real Betis last week and have been held to draws by both Valencia and Levante, leaving them already seven points behind Barcelona.
Memories of last season’s title- and Champions League-winning campaign seem to be quickly fading due to their rocky start, and Zinedine Zidane knows that a much-needed win tonight will go a long way towards answering Madrid’s critics. It won’t be easy, however, as they’re yet to taste victory at Signal Iduna Park, with only two of their six visits ending in draws.
The two sides were placed alongside one another in last year’s group stage, and both clashes ended in nervy and hard-fought 2-2 draws. On both occasions Dortmund came from behind to deny Madrid a first ever win in this part of North Rhine-Westphalia, with last season’s corresponding fixture seeing Andre Schurrle strike late on to cancel out what looked to be the winning goal scored by Raphael Varane.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Real Madrid XI (4-3-3): Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Nacho; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Bale, Ronaldo, Isco.
Real Madrid substitutes: Casilla, Hakimi, Llorente, Ceballos, Asensio, Mayoral, Vazquez.
Peter Bosz has decided to make three changes to the Dortmund side that started the 6-1 thrashing of Borussia Monchengladbach on the weekend, with Nuri Sahin, Gonzalo Castro and Andriy Yarmolenko coming into the starting line-up to replace Julian Weigl, Mahmoud Dahoud and Christian Pulisic, respectively.
Meanwhile, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has also made three alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with Dani Ceballos, Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio making way for Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Gareth Bale.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 0-1 REAL MADRID
So far, so good for Madrid, who are on course to leave Signal Iduna Park with their first ever win in this part of Germany thanks to a solid first-half performance. Dortmund have pushed hard and played some lovely football in the final third of the pitch, but they've left themselves incredibly open on several occasions, allowing their opponents to take advantage of their defensive frailties with excellent counter-attacks.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1-3 REAL MADRID
That certainly was an excellent contest between two absolutely thrilling sides, and it's one that's gone Madrid's way thanks to a brilliant performance from the reigning European champions. They set themselves up perfectly and constantly caused problems for Dortmund, who left themselves exposed at the back due to their incredibly high defensive line.
The victory means that Madrid stay top of the group, equal on points with next opponents Tottenham, who easily beat APOEL 3-0 this evening. The Cypriot minnows are the next side to face Dortmund in the Champions League, and the German side desperately need to win there if they're to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages of the competition.
