Welcome to our LIVE text commentary of this Champions League group stage fixture between Dutch side Feyenoord and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Feyenoord are looking to improve on a dismal record, losing their last nine Champions League fixtures. Without a win in the competition since 2002, when they won 1-0 away at Newcastle United, manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst will hope to replicate some of the magic that saw him lift the trophy as a Barcelona player in 2006.
Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk may visit Rotterdam without club legend Darijo Srna, but they do sit second place in the group after an impressive 2-1 home victory over Napoli, with dangerman Faccundo Ferreyra scoring the all-decisive second goal.
Feyenoord XI (4-3-3): Jones; Haps, St. Juste, Van Baek, Nieuwkoop; Amrabat, El Ahmadi, Vilhena; Berghuis, Boetius, Jorgensen.
Nicolai Jorgensen hasn't been in prolific form for his club side of late failing to live up to his tally of 21 goals last term. However, manager Van Bronckhorst has decided to trust him up front for his first start in the Champions League this season.
Donetsk will be hoping to take advantage of Feyenoord's uncharacteristically poor home form, failing to score and collecting just one point in their last two home Eredivisie games. Marlos Romero may appear slight in build, but already boasts six goals this season.
HALF TIME: (1-1) All level at De Kuip with Bernard's tap home after rounding the keeper cancelling out an early opener from Berghuis reacting first to Vilhena's powerful shot from range. The visitors have done well to subdue a vibrant home atmosphere as their manager Paulo Fonseca looks to build on his growing reputation in Europe.
Feyenoord boss Van Bronckhorst will now that his side surely have to claim all three points tonight if they are to have any chance of progressing past the group stage. He could look to Jens Toornstra or Sam Larsson as attacking options on the bench, with striker Larsson being part of the Swedish side who won the European under-21 Championship in 2015.
The Ukrainian champions have looked more assured as the half progressed. If the match follows in the same vein, Fonseca and his side could be looking at a first Champions League win on the road since October 2014.
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's Feyenoord continue to struggle at home this season. The Dutch champions threw on Kramer, Larsson and Toonstra to try and rescue something from the match but couldn't find a way past 10-man Donetsk despite a late onslaught on Pjatov's goal.
FULL TIME: (Feyenoord 1-2 Shakhtar Donetsk) Donetsk claim a rare away win in the Champions League and create a three-point cushion between themselves and third-place Napoli in Group F. A brace from the impressive Bernard won Fonseca's side the points following Berghuis' early opener for Feyenoord.
