Florent Hadergjonaj whipped a terrific ball into the box, his teammate then producing a wonderful header to get on the scoresheet for the Terriers.
GOOOAALLL HUDDERSFIELD! The Terriers manage to pull a goal back in the dying moments of the game, much to the displeasure of Courtois who doesn’t look happy at all to concede and lose his clean sheet. Laurent Depoitre with a superb header, straight into the bottom corner and out of the reach of Courtois. Excellent goal and a consolation strike for the hosts.

Batshuayi gets himself in a good position, with a chance to score from close range, but he is penalised for a handball as he almost squeezed the ball home at the near post. The Belgian hasn't enjoyed the best of form and is in need of a goal at the moment,

Next up for Chelsea are two home games at Stamford Bridge, first they face Southampton on Saturday before welcoming Bournemouth next Wednesday evening. Meanwhile for Huddersfield, they travel to Watford on Saturday and then return home in midweek when they will face Southampton.

The Huddersfield supporters have been incredible tonight, on a freezing cold evening in Yorkshire and with their side really struggling, they have kept the noise up until the end.

E. Ampadu enters the game and replaces A. Christensen.
Final change of the game for Chelsea, with Andreas Christensen coming off and he looks to have picked up a slight knock and heads straight down the tunnel. Ethan Ampadu is on for his Premier League debut.
79'
Chelsea have certainly dropped the pace of their game now, playing the ball comfortably around the backline and midfield, only going forward if they can carve out a clear opening in this now tired Huddersfield defence. Antonio Conte is still just as energetic on the sidelines, shouting instructions to his players constantly.
76'
Huddersfield are now just five points above the drop zone, 12th in the table but the bottom half of the league is very tight with just eight points separating bottom side Crystal Palace, and 10th placed Everton.

Third and final substitution by the Terriers with Steve Mounié being replaced by Laurent Depoitre up front for the hosts.

F. Hadergjonaj enters the game and replaces C. Löwe.
The Terriers make their second change of the evening, with Chris Löwe coming off and he has been replaced by Florent Hadergjonaj.
CHANCE CHELSEA! Pedro with a good opportunity to make it four-nil here after a incisive counter-attack from the Blues. Hazard feeds Willian, he plays it to Pedro, but he fires his shot high over Huddersfield bar from the edge of the area.
64'
Much better by the Terriers, they are picking up the pace when they do get on the ball and trying to force Chelsea back into some defending of their own.
62'
SAVE! Courtois has barely had anything to do tonight, with all the action well up the other end of the pitch, but he has finally been forced into action. Ince forces his way through the Chelsea defence on the left of the box. He looks to loft it over the keeper, but Courtois does well to make himself big and block the shot.
60'
Chelsea corner here, just their second of the game and the elect to take it short, which leads to Hazard dribbling his way into the box and firing a low shot at goal, but it is well blocked and out for another set piece. The Champions want more goals here, they aren't content with the three they have already scored tonight.
57'
STAT: Huddersfield's last league win against the reigning top-flight champions was a 2-0 victory against Wolves in September 1954.
55'
Huddersfield fans are still cheering their team on whenever they get the ball, they have been 100% behind their team tonight throughout. Chelsea dominating the ball, with 67% so far, it looks like damage limitation for Huddersfield now.
53'
Victory tonight will move Chelsea level on points with Manchester United in second spot in the table, ahead of tomorrow nights Premier League games. However, they will still be a huge 11 points behind the leaders Manchester City.

Pedro has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by Willian.
THREE-NIL! Chelsea carve Huddersfield open once again and this time it is Pedro the man firing the ball into the back of the net. Alonso’s ball into the box wasn’t dealt with and it fell to Willian, he laid it off to Pedro on the edge of the area and he curled his effort into the top corner. Great finish.
Willian was unselfish to lay the ball off to Pedro who was in a much better position and he did the rest with a terrific finish. Victory wrapped up for the Champions now and they will be heading back to London with all three points.
48'
The second half has started the same way the first 45 minutes ended, with Chelsea in control and dominating possession, keeping the Terriers inside their own half and struggling to get a touch on the ball.
46'
D. Whitehead enters the game and replaces J. Hogg.
The second half is underway!
Huddersfield have made a substitution at the break, with Jonathan Hogg replaced by Dean Whitehead.

That's the half-time whistle!

GREAT SAVE! Lowe gave the ball away far too easily to Hazard deep in his own half, Hazard finds Pedro in acres of space, he runs through on goal with just Lossl to beat, but the Huddersfield keeper sprints out of his goal, closes the angle and makes a superb save.
43'
Willian has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by Marcos Alonso.
Marcos Alonso was given plenty of time and space down the left-wing and he whipped a terrific ball into the box, which should've been dealt with by Huddersfield, but Willian did well at the far post to head the ball into the back of the net.
GOOOAAALLL CHELSEA DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! That could be the game wrapped up before the break as the Blues make it two-nil with a well-taken header by Willian. The Brazilian was completely unmarked at the back post, the cross came in from the left and he headed the ball into the ground, it bounced past Lossl and the defender on the line. Poor defending by Huddersfield to allow the Chelsea man that much room in the six-yard box.
41'
CHANCE CHELSEA! Hazard was brought down close to the byline down the right wing and Willian whips a dangerous free-kick into the box, it is well met by Bakayoko who tries to glance his header into the corner of the net, but he doesn't get enough contact on the ball and it goes just wide.
39'
This is better from Huddersfield, they managed to get the ball down the other end of the pitch and play some quick football in the Chelsea half, then really press the Blues defence when they lose the ball which makes it difficult to keep possession. However, they manage to clear the danger and Hazard breaks upfield.
37'
Despite their dominance, the Blues haven't forced Lossl into any saves yet tonight with most of their play being intricate passes in the final third and waiting for a clear sight on goal. N'Golo Kante fired a wild effort at goal from a corner and it went high over the crossbar, a poor effort.
34'
Chelsea are looking to kill this game off before half-time and you can't see anything else other than a Blues victory at the moment. A second goal before the break would really diminish the Terriers hopes of getting anything out of the game.
32'
STAT: Only one of Chelsea's nine Premier League defeats under Antonio Conte has come outside of London - April's 2-0 loss at Manchester United.
30'
Mounie is cutting a very isolated figure up front for Huddersfield, as the long balls up the pitch to him just aren't working and the Chelsea attacks are coming thick and fast back at them. All very easy for the Blues.
28'
Will the opening goal by Chelsea force Huddersfield to become more attacking focused themselves, to try and get back into this game straight away, or will they sit back and try to soak up anymore pressure until the latter stages of the game, when they can look to nick an equaliser.
25'
Chris Löwe tried desperately to block the shot from Bakayoko, but he couldn't get to it in time and injured himself in the process of trying to stop the goal. So we have a brief stoppage of play here at the moment, but he looks fine to continue after medical treatment.
23'
T. Bakayoko has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by Willian.
Following the poor kick out of goal by Lossl, Chelsea played a quick couple of passes starting from Hazard's delightful flick into the path of Willian, who then feeds Bakayoko in the box.
GOOOAAALLL CHELSEA LEAD! It has been coming as the Champions have been well on top from the first minute and they finally have the breakthrough here, thanks to a goal from Tiémoué Bakayoko. It was a poor clearance from Lossl, he slipped as he tried to clear the ball under pressure and he passed it straight to a Chelsea player. The Blues played a quick couple of passes and Bakayoko was played through by Willian, who then coolly lifted the ball over Lossl and into the back of the net.
22'
STAT: The Blues have already dropped 16 points in their 16 Premier League games this season - they only dropped 21 in the whole of 2016-17.
20'
The Terriers thought they had won another opportunity from a corner-kick to get the ball into the Chelsea penalty area, but Tom Ince is pulled up for a push on Azpilicueta as he tried to clear the ball. It looked soft but there was certainly contact between the two players.
18'
Huddersfield win the first corner of the game, much to the delight of the home supporters, it is whipped into the box by Aaron Mooy. Andreas Christensen heads it clear, it then comes straight back and falls to the feet of Steve Mounie who slices his effort at goal well wide and he is well offside as well, which is picked up by the officials.
17'
The Huddersfield fans are making all of the noise at the moment, despite their side barely seeing any of the ball and they have shared just 34% of the possession tonight.
14'
Good one-two between Pedro and Hazard in the Huddersfield half, which leads to the latter being tackled to the ground in an effort stop him getting into a shooting position. The Blues are given a free-kick, which they take short and it comes to nothing.
13'
STAT: Victory against Brighton was Huddersfield's first win in six league games. However, the Terriers have won three of their last four home matches and that form will be key to their survival ambitions this season.
10'
It is all very patient play by Chelsea at the moment, they are getting close to the Huddersfield final third but aren't looking to find that clinical ball into the feet of Hazard or Pedro just yet, looking for the space to open up in the Terriers defence, but so far it is all very tight and compact by the hosts backline.
8'
Huddersfield will be hoping to frustrate Chelsea tonight, just like they did against United and City here. They are allowing the Blues plenty of time on the ball and look to be aiming to break forward on the counter-attack, as they camped well inside their own half right now.
6'
Chelsea have the ball in the back of the net! But it is ruled out for offside! Pedro is this time the man played through on goal and produces a fine finish, but he's well offside and the officials rightly rule the goal out.
5'
Chelsea dominating possession early on here, with the Terriers penned inside their own half and struggling to get a touch on the ball at the moment as Chelsea play the ball around comfortably. Cesar Azpilicueta picks out Eden Hazard out with a good through ball, he beats the offside trap but the ball is slightly too far ahead of him and Jonas Lossl comes out to gather the ball.

We're underway!
Good evening and welcome to our LIVE match commentary of the Premier League clash between Huddersfield Town and Chelsea at the John Smith's Stadium.
Unlike their opponents, Huddersfield picked up a win at the weekend as they beat Brighton 2-0 at home to end a four-game losing streak and move up to 12th in the table.
Following a shock 1-0 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday, Antonio Conte’s sides title challenge is now perhaps over as after results on Sunday, they are now 14 points behind league leaders Manchester City. However, they are still third in the table, but have Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham just a couple of points behind them.
Huddersfield winger Rajiv van La Parra is available after completing a three-game ban. The Terriers have no new injury concerns to worry about, however Kasey Palmer is on-loan from Chelsea and is ineligible to face his parent club.
Meanwhile for Chelsea, the Blues may be able to recall Danny Drinkwater, who missed the defeat at West Ham because of illness. After that defeat, Conte may opt to rotate his squad, with Victor Moses, Willian and Pedro among those hoping for recalls.
The team news is in, here is how the two sides will line-up this evening...
CHELSEA SUBS: Caballero, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Musonda, Batshuayi, Cahill, Ampadu
Chelsea are without a a recognised striker tonight, with Pedro replacing the injured Morata, so it looks like Hazard, Pedro and Willian will enjoy free roles up top for the Blues. Conte makes three other changes, with Cahill, Zappacosta and Fabregas making way for Rudiger, Willian and Moses. Meanwhile for Huddersfield, Danny Williams comes in to replace Collin Quaner.
The teams are out here and kick-off is just minutes away! Stay tuned for all of the match action.
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 0-2 CHELSEA
Chelsea are cruising to victory here, they lead after goals from Bakayoko and Willian. They had all of the possession and deserve their 2-0 lead, despite very little goalmouth action. Huddersfield lacking any attack and they have misplaced a few too many passes which has allowed Chelsea to punish them and constantly keep the ball in the Terriers half of the pitch.
FULL-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 1-3 CHELSEA
A very comfortable performance from the champions to secure a well-deserved 3-1 victory, they now close the gap to City to 11 points with the victory as they face Swansea tomorrow night. Huddersfield struggled from the start against a dominant Blues side, but managed to nick a consolation goal right at the end.
That's all from us tonight, we hope you enjoyed the game!
