Well here's an interesting end to the match! Yarmolenko is hauled to the ground in the middle but the referee gives nothing and, despite the protests, doesn't consult VAR either!
90' +3
V. Darida gets yellow.
A late yellow card for Darida after a foul on Weigl near the halfway line.
90' +2
Schurrle flies forward, pinging a brilliant cross into Isak and he elects to try to chest it onto a team-mate rather than going for goal himself. Hertha then hit on the counter but it's wasted by Selke.
90' +1
FOUR minutes added on!
90'
Selke with a dangerous run forward, a rare attacking move for Hertha, but the move is then broken down after an offside call. Minutes away from the conclusion in the German capital.
88'
It took a while but this game has really livened up. Hertha, having taken the lead and seeing Duda throw away a second goal, are now fighting to keep a foothold in the match. Dortmund have a real chance of snatching all three points.
86'
CHANCE! Brilliant touch in the area for Isak with his chest, then firing an effort towards goal. Darida gets a crucial block and the resulting corner comes to nothing.
OFF THE BAR! It's all happening now! Isak has been brilliant and he strikes an effort off the crossbar, though the referee then gives a foul for a challenge inside the area.
85'
A. Yarmolenko enters the game and replaces C. Pulišić.
Another change that shows attacking intent for Dortmund, as Yarmolenko, who missed a few sitters last weekend, replaces Pulisic.
84'
V. Darida enters the game and replaces S. Kalou.
Second change of the game for Hertha, with Kalou replaced by the equally experienced Darida.
SAVE! Dortmund continue to push and Toljan fires a low volley goalwards after the ball drops to him at the edge of the area, forcing a decent save from Kraft.
82'
CHANCE! Isak backheels the ball to Sancho, who beats his defender for pace and tries to bend a shot into the far corner of Kraft's net. Unfortunately it's off target but the 17-year-old has caught the eye tonight.
Minute
Description
81'
Into the final ten minutes and Peter Stoger's side have certainly found their rhythm. Unless there's another goal in Dortmund's favour though, they'll have dropped two points.
79'
The visitors continue to play on the front foot and Weiser, who made a mistake for the equaliser and has since been booked, is walking on wafer thin ice with his play- and Sancho is doing all he can to exploit it.
77'
M. Leckie enters the game and replaces O. Duda.
First change of the game for Hertha, who replace Duda with Australian international Leckie.
75'
Dortmund now on the front foot and look the more likely to snatch all three points if there is to be a winner this evening.
73'
M. Weiser gets yellow.
Let's wind back the clock and recall that offside goal. What on earth was Duda doing? He may well have cost his side a huge victory.
The most obvious yellow card you'll ever see for Weiser, who's trying to pull Kagawa's shirt off.
72'
V. Lazaro gets yellow.
Lazaro enters the book, the first Hertha man to do so.
71'
S. Kagawa has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by J. Sancho.
GOAL! Dortmund get the equaliser! Weiser sloppily gives the ball away to Sancho, who can't get his first cross into the middle following some tidy footwork but his second attempt puts the ball on a plate for Kagawa. An easy header and a crucial goal!
Sancho has been a bright spark in an otherwise uninspiring Dortmund side this evening and he gets his reward!
69'
Edging towards the final twenty minutes and Dortmund have it all to do. With Isak's introduction they do at least have a target to aim for but the young Swede hasn't quite set the Bundesliga alive since making his move following the European Championships in 2016.
67'
A. Isak enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
First change of the game sees an attacking reshuffle for Dortmund, with Gotze replaced by Isak.
66'
Kalou has come to life in the past five minutes and Hertha are finding a lot of space when they attack. Dortmund's midfield trio has often been criticised, relying too heavily on Weigl in defensive aspects, and those issues are emerging once again.
64'
An absolute nightmare for Hertha and a huge let off for Dortmund. That could prove to be a huge moment in the match and Duda may become the villain of tonight's story, should the game turn on it's head.
63'
OFFSIDE! Oh what a howler! Kalou charges forward and has plenty of room to work with, poking an effort towards goal that's set to bobble across the line. However, Duda follows it in and taps home- only to see the offside flag raised!
62'
Rare moment of position for Kalou, though he cannot find room for a shot, and eventually he heads over the bar after Plattenhardt fires a cross towards the near post.
60'
Better from Dortmund, as Kraft is required to charge off his line to punch the ball away after Kagawa knocked the ball towards the path of Pulisic.
59'
Hertha have struggled to see the ball in the past ten minutes but, crucially, they have the lead and have something to defend.
57'
SAVE! Dortmund finally call Kraft into action! Pulisic weaves his way around the defenders and into a shooting position but his strike from outside the area is comfortable enough for the stopper. Sokratis rises high from the resulting corner but heads over the bar.
56'
Dortmund are keeping the ball brilliantly but are offering nothing in the final third, though Gotze is unlucky to see the ball run away from him as he charges through into the area.
54'
Dortmund's first corner of the second period sees Kagawa play an outswinging ball into the middle, which Hertha deal with, but the visitors continue to try and work the ball into a threatening position.
52'
Dangerous run for Sancho brings optimism for Dortmund but Schurrle's cross is extremely poor.
51'
Pressure on Dortmund now and they need to find something from their locker. Pulisic whips in a dangerous cross but Hertha stand firm to get the ball away.
49'
A very, very slow start to the second half by Dortmund and Hertha have already taken advantage. Whatever Pal Dardai said at the break has worked!
46'
D. Selke has scored a goal for Hertha Berlin! Assist by V. Lazaro.
No idea why the start of the second period was delayed but it was at least a few minutes longer than it should have been. Anyway, the action is back and will hopefully be more exciting.
GOAL! It's taken mere seconds to beat the first half! Lazaro plays a superb low cross into the area where Selke is lurking, tucking home the opening goal of the night and his fifth in the league this season.
No surprise at all that Valentino Lazaro was the man to create the magic moment, he's been superb. I don't think anyone expected a goal just seconds after the restart though!
45'
Another decent move for Hertha and it comes down the right again. Kalou finds Lazaro on the opposing flank and the Austrian international played a good ball into the middle but nobody was there to take advantage.
KICK OFF! Back underway in the German capital after an extended interval, with Dortmund getting us started and now kick to the right.
44'
Maier in the Hertha midfield has caught eyes after impressive displays since last season but the youngster hasn't really found a grip on this game. He hasn't really been noticable and plays a weak cross along the flow that's easily collected by Burki.
42'
The concern here is that it really isn't clear where an opening goal would come from. It's shaping up to be a game that's potentially decided on who doesn't make mistakes defensively.
40'
Mario Gotze gets a ticking off for a foul in midfield and there's potentially signs of frustration emerging for Dortmund.
38'
Dortmund seem to have found their flow, with Toprak seeing a shot deflected, and the visitors continue to pile on the pressure. It hasn't quite clicked for them though and the absence of a recognised striker is extremely noticable.
36'
Oh what a waste! The best move of the game for Dortmund sees Kagawa unleash Sancho but he decides to try to play it across to a team-mate rather than going for goal himself. The wrong call unfortunately!
35'
Dortmund's attack has been disappointing once again. Sancho and Pulisic have shown bright sparks but Schurrle, playing centrally, has barely touched the ball.
33'
CLOSE! Almost a controversial opening goal! Hertha benefit from an incorrect corner call and Stark heads wide of the mark. Had he scored there the travelling party would have been furious.
32'
A very scrappy first half hour in the German capital and neither side has really got going. The hosts are enjoying another decent spell in possession but they need to make Burki work.
30'
CHANCE! Lazaro goes for goal and Burki can't see the shot as it flies towards his near post. Unfortunately it's too wide and crashes into the side netting.
29'
C. Pulišić gets yellow.
First booking of the game is issued for Pulisic after he bundles over Plattenhardt. He's used his arm but it does look very soft.
27'
First corner of the game for Hertha but it again doesn't bring any joy for the hosts. They're looking short of ideas and would benefit from getting Lazaro involved more.
24'
Worth noting Hertha's rather remarkable record so far this season. After 18 games they've won six, lost six and drawn six. 26 goals scored and you'll never guess how many they've conceded... 26!
22'
CHANCE! The first free-kick for the hosts within Plattenhardt range and it's a decent attempt, though it dips far too late and flies over the top of the crossbar.
20'
Toljan against Lazaro is shaping up to be a superb battle. The latter is once again keeping the defender on his toes as Hertha have a promising move but it ends with Weiser hitting a wayward effort off target.
18'
Neither keeper to be tested yet and that's perhaps good news for Kraft, who starts for Hertha tonight for the first time in almost two years!
16'
Dortmund turning up the heat, with Sancho again bursting forward down the left flank, but the attack ends with Weigl firing a very disappointing effort way over the bar.
14'
CHANCE! Pulisic clips a great cross into the middle where Kagawa's trademark late run sees the Japanese midfielder header over the bar, when Sancho behind him looked to be in a better position.
12'
Peter Stoger's side do have a new man amongst their ranks as Manuel Akanji is on the bench. Dortmund fought off a lot of interest to land the highly-rated defender from FC Basel and he'll challenge Toprak and Sokratis for a starting berth in the coming months.
10'
Dortmund struggled in the attacking third against Wolfsburg last week, a disappointing goalless draw, and they haven't shown anything promising yet here.
8'
Hertha getting involved and enjoying a decent spell on the ball, putting Dortmund under pressure when they don't have the ball.
6'
Short break in play as Duda receives treatment after a clash of heads. Fortunately he's able to continue.
4'
First attack of the game sees Lazaro burst down the right for Hertha, beating Toljan for pace, and clipping a dangerous cross into the middle. There's no man on the end of it though and Piszczek gets it away.
3'
Dortmund knocking the ball around well in the opening exchanges, with Sancho getting involved down the left. He's supported down that side by Toljan, which makes for a very young duo.
1'
KICK-OFF! The hosts get us underway in Berlin, kicking to the right in the first half.
Good evening and welcome to our LIVE coverage of this weekend's opening Bundesliga game, where Hertha Berlin host Borussia Dortmund in Germany's capital city.
Hertha enter this weekend sat 11th in the table and are just five points behind tonight's opponents. Victory here would put them back in the hunt for continental football next season, whereas defeat would hand those hopes a blow. A loss last time to Stuttgart was a blow and they'll look for redemption tonight.
Dortmund, meanwhile, have seen their battles attract attention both on and off the field. Sat fourth, already 15 points behind Bayern Munich, another title looks out of reach and they've had to cope with the transfer speculation, which leaves Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the frame once again tonight. Having suffered a third round exit in the DFB Cup to Bayern before a goalless draw with Wolfsburg, Peter Stoger's side also have redemption in mind.
Hertha Berlin XI: Thomas Kraft; Mitchell Weiser, Niklas Stark, Fabian Lustenberger, Marvin Plattenhardt; Arne Maier, Per Skjelbred; Valentino Lazaro, Ondrej Duda, Salomon Kalou; Davie Selke.
Borussia Dortmund XI: Roman Burki; Lukasz Piszczek, Sokratis, Omer Toprak, Jeremy Toljan; Shinji Kagawa, Julian Weigl, Mario Gotze; Christian Pulisic, Andre Schurrle, Jadon Sancho.
Hertha subs: Jonathan Klinsmann, Maximilian Mittelstadt, Vedad Ibisevic, Peter Pekarik, Sebastian Langkamp, Mathew Leckie, Vladimir Darida.
Dortmund subs: Roman Weidenfeller, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Akanji, Alexander Isak, Gonzalo Castro, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Nuri Sahin.
The big news for the hosts is the absence of Rune Jarstein, which means Kraft starts between the posts. Jonathan Klinsmann, the son of former Germany striker Jurgen, therefore takes a place on the bench. The other change for Hertha is Duda, who comes in for Leckie.
HALF TIME! That's a wrap for the first half after what has been a largely disappointing display. Neither side has managed to get going in the attacking third to provide any sort of threat and may look to their respective benches for inspiration in the second half. Hertha captain Ibisevic is on the bench, whilst Dortmund could look towards Swedish youngster Isak.
Hertha will undoubtably be the happier of the two after holding Dortmund to a goalless half but they need to show better intent in the attacking third. Lazaro has been a bright spark for the hosts but Selke, leading the line, has been extremely poor and has often looked disinterested.
I really wanted to go the remainder of this match without mentioning Aubameyang but after a display like that, which follows a poor goalless draw with Wolfsburg last week, how could I not? Peter Stoger's side have shown no signs of threat in the final third and a potential exit of the Gabonese striker will leave an alarming void- as we've seen tonight.
FULL TIME! A game of two halves in the German capital, with a lacklustre first half followed by an entertaining second period. Davie Selke gave the hosts the lead seconds after the restart and Hertha looked to have doubled their advantage when Salomon Kalou poked an effort towards goal, only to see Ondrej Duda tap it in and then get flagged offside. The introduction of Alexander Isak led to improvements from Dortmund and it was Jadon Sancho who provided the spark, with a superb cross headed home by Shinji Kagawa.
A disappointing turn of events for Hertha Berlin and I wouldn't like to be Duda in the home dressing room this evening. They miss the chance to pull closer to the race for European football and their disappointing campaign continues as a result, as they're guaranteed to remain 11th in the table for another week.
Borussia Dortmund may have turned things around but the ship has certainly not been steadied yet by Peter Stoger. They were extremely poor in attack during the first half, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's absence being obvious, and struggled to get a foothold. Young talents like Sancho and Isak provided a spark in the end but it will be a nervy weekend for Dortmund, who'll hope that the other sides around them also drop points.
Dortmund, as mentioned previously, are without Aubameyang for the second week running and it seems it's something they'll have to get used to. Stoger has made two changes to his side for tonight's game, as Pulisic and Schurrle come in for Isak and Yarmolenko. English youngster Jadon Sancho starts for the second game in a row.
