It's Icardi with a last-gasp chance for Inter, fed a solid ball by Rafinha - and he pulls it wide to the left! SPAL go to take the goal-kick - but the full-time whistle goes! The hosts hold their visitors to a draw after late drama!
90' +3
Grassi! That could have been a winner for SPAL, only for the midfielder to blow it over the crossbar from sixteen yards out again. A minute or so left...
90' +1
A. Paloschi gets yellow.
Rafinha enters the game and replaces Borja Valero.
Valero is off for one last change by Inter - and Rafinha is on in his place.
Paloschi gets a booking now for a foul on Perisic as he looks to slow down play from the restart.
90'
A. Paloschi has scored a goal for SPAL! Assist by M. Antenucci.
Yes they can! Paloschi heads in a neat cross forward from Antenucci, diving out of the attacking line, and manages to push it into the bottom right corner behind Handanovic. SPAL are level as regular time runs out - the score is 1-1 at Paolo Mazza with four minutes of injury time to come!
Antenucci recieved that Viviani free-kick out wide on the left and looked to be going for goal himself; Paloschi's header sealed the deal to make sure though. That's a deserved score for SPAL - has it done enough to rescue a point?
89'
It's yet another free-kick for SPAL, this time on the right wing, 20 yards out and level with the box. Surely they can go closer this time?
88'
Another free-kick for SPAL now - their third in a row - and this time, some 30 yards out on the left wing. Viviani curls it wide to the right this time - and Gagliardini turns it away with a header for Inter.
87'
R. Gagliardini enters the game and replaces M. Brozović.
...whilst for Inter, Roberto Gagliardini arrives for a brief cameo to take the place of Brozovic.
SPAL earn another free-kick, this one 45 yards out. Viviani turns it in once more from the right - and Handanovic claims it smoothly with little fuss.
86'
F. Bonazzoli enters the game and replaces F. Vicari.
A third change for the hosts; Vicari, the man whose mistake gave Inter the lead, is replaced by Federico Bonazzoli...
85'
No they can't - Viviani's effort overshoots all his fellow men in the box and skitters out by the left post for a goal-kick.
84'
A free-kick to SPAL now for a foul on Costa, 30 yards out in the centre-right part of field. Can they make this one tell?
Minute
Description
83'
F. Costa enters the game and replaces F. Mattiello.
Another SPAL change; Mattiello is replaced by Filippo Costa.
81'
Less than ten on the clock now at Paolo Mazza. Will SPAL get as good a chance as that Paloschi header again?
79'
Paloschi! What a chance for the SPAL substitute; he heads over a Mattiello cross, with the keeper having misread the ball and fallen over. That was a sitter, right there, for the hosts.
78'
Time is running out for SPAL to find the leveller now, though Inter do feel like they have taken their foot off the pedal. It's the hosts who attack again, and they earn a throw deep in opposition territory on the left.
76'
It's a near carbon-copy second attempt for the hosts now; except this time, it's Kurtic who is responsible for the poor finish, putting the ball into the back row of the stand behind the goal.
75'
A. Paloschi enters the game and replaces P. Schiattarella.
SPAL make their first change now; Schiattarella departs with Alberto Paloschi taking to the field in his place.
A golden chance for SPAL to level as a long ball is played back on the edge of the Inter box by Antenucci to Grassi - only for the midfielder to blast it way over the crossbar.
74'
Perisic is the latest Inter man to register a shot on goal, drilling a low effort from the left corner of the box. It trundles through the defence - but has no real power behind it, with Meret claiming easily enough.
73'
It'll be a second corner to Inter as Icardi goes close with a header from six yards out and Meret does just enough to force it over the crossbar again.
72'
That's another corking save from Meret, as the SPAL keeper leaps high to his left to push away a wild, spinning Brozovic shot fired off from the left edge of the box. Corner to Inter...
70'
Viviani turns it in for Antenucci in the box and Miranda clears once more, but only as far as Kurtic, who blasts an effort through a crowded defence that forces Handanovic to stoop and collect near the far-right post.
69'
Corner to SPAL as Kurtic sees his attempted header, off a Lazzari cross, steered out by Miranda.
68'
A poor corner from Cancelo sees SPAL clear with little difficulty and they begin a swift counter-attack to halfway now through Mattiello.
66'
It's a great effort from Eder, swinging it high and wide to the far left post; D'Ambrosio and Skriniar can't head it in before Meret manages to push it out though for a corner.
65'
An utterly stupid challenge by Antenucci on Skriniar now gifts Inter a free-kick 30 yards out on the right. Eder to take...
63'
A frantic passage of play in the Inter box now as Antenucci, Kurtic, Grassi and Viviani all try their luck after a myriad of deflections and frantic attempts to clear; the visitors eventually smother it away through Miranda.
61'
What a chance for Cancelo! The Inter man breaks in open play after a poor midfield pass from SPAL's Grassi, and he sprints into the opposition box - and then, under little pressure, blows his shot at least three metres wide and over the goal.
60'
It's a poor corner from Inter, sailing over the box and out at the far right side for a goal-kick. Felipe appears to land awkwardly after his leap though and requires brief attention from the medics.
58'
Shot by Vecino! Save by Meret! The Inter man is played a ball back into the box by Icardi to run onto and he launches a monster effort heading straight ahead into the back of the net - until the keeper manages to tip it over with a herculean leap. Corner to the visitors.
57'
Rather than play into the main huddle inside the box, Kurtic plays wide to the right, lining up a chance for Lazzari. It doesn't pay off for the hosts though; Miranda muscles in on the move and Inter sweep the ball away from danger.
56'
Inter defuse the corner but moments later, they foul Brozovic and concede a free-kick some 25 yards out on the left. Another chance for SPAL...
54'
Chance for SPAL! Schiattarella darts in to steal the ball from a napping Skriniar in defence and launches a shot from just outside the box on the right; Handanovic gets a hand to it to push it out for a corner.
52'
Perisic looks to repeat the move again, before abandoning a cross in favour of going for goal himself. He pulls his effort wide to the left and Meret is left untroubled.
50'
If there's anything worse than conceding a goal, it's conceding one by your own hand - or in this case, foot. Vicari looks absolutely mortified - and when he goes to ground and earns a free-kick for his side on halfway, he hides his face for a moment perhaps longer than is strictly needed. It's a tough ask for SPAL now to get the win.
48'
F. Vicari is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
Inter take the lead through an own goal! It's disaster for SPAL - having held strong in the first half, they start the second period by netting past their own keeper, with Vicari's attempted chip over his own crossbar to clear a Perisic cross burying itself behind Meret. Gutting for the hosts.
47'
Brozovic plays back out to his left wing as Inter try to get around the SPAL back four - and eventually he plays forward instead, seeing his pass deflected out for a throw-in.
46'
Éder enters the game and replaces A. Candreva.
We're back underway at Paolo Mazza, with a change for Inter at half-time - Candreva is off and Eder is on in his place. Can the visitors find the breakthrough to end their winless run?
45' +2
Inter get a late free-kick after a push by Felipe, and for a moment, it looks like Miranda could find the breakthrough when the ball lands at is feet. Alas, the defender miscues his shot and falls over, allowing Viviani to clear - and the referee blows for half time!
45'
Two added minutes are on the way here...
44'
Both men - Cionek and Valero - are alright to continue, and SPAL make their first serious incursion into the Inter half for a quarter-hour or so, earning a throw-in on the left, level with the opposition box.
42'
Save from Meret! It's a tricky blighter of a corner to deal with, curled brilliantly and dipping towards the far right post - but the keeper muscles in on it before anyone else can and punches it clear of danger. Two players have clashed heads as well in the box and play is paused for treatment.
40'
Five minutes until the break, and Inter advance once more. Icardi tries his luck from the left of the box - and sees a wayward leg from Vicari put it out for a corner on the left.
38'
Lazzari puts a header in on halfway after a deflected pass finds him out wide - but the referee rules that he was out of the field of play and awards a throw-in to Inter.
36'
Cionek is fouled by Cancelo and earns a free-kick for SPAL too as he tries to cut off the Inter attack in his own half.
34'
Schiattarella hacks clear the latest effort from the Inter forwards to breach the SPAL back-line and then earns a free-kick as he tries to follow his own ball and is fouled in the process.
32'
The visitors have turned up the tempo in the past ten minutes or so; it has virtually been one-way traffic in attack for them. That being said, none of their attempts have been remotely close to finding the net; their finishing needs a pick-me-up if they want to take the lead against a determined SPAL defence.
30'
Now Brozovic tears down the left flank for Inter, and he pulls a half-volley across the box searching for Icardi, only for the striker to arrive a second too late to tap in at the far post. Goal-kick to SPAL.
28'
It's Cancelo with the latest chance for Inter, fed a long ball down the left wing by Perisic; he is unable to control it however under pressure from Cionek and he bundles it out for a goal-kick.
26'
D'Ambrosio hoofs a deflected ball into the box, looking for Icardi to head home; Meret claims it with little difficulty and SPAL look to counter swiftly.
24'
Inter make a speedy foray into SPAL territory, and Icardi has a half-chance to shoot - only to fluff his second touch and spill the ball away for a goal-kick.
22'
Around a quarter of the game gone and the score remains at level pegging. Schiattarella pops a chipped cross into the left side of the box, looking for Mattiello; Vecino gets there first and heads back to his keeper.
20'
Play is back underway - and Grassi has a golden chance! The SPAL man meets a cross from the right by Cionek inside the box, and gets his head to it - but he can only steer it over and wide of the crossbar to the left.
18'
Free-kick to SPAL now as D'Ambrosio catches Kurtic on the ankle whilst challenging for the ball. The forward is still prone on the ground a minute later, clutching his head in agony.
16'
SPAL don't look like a side fighting a battle to stay in Serie A so far, it must be said. Inter look a little clumsy in their game management - though Valero shows that they are still alert to chances as he sweeps in to intercept a Schiattarella pass out wide to the left.
14'
Candreva! Laid on by D'Ambrosio, the Inter man nearly gives his side the lead with a rocket shot on the centre-right side of the SPAL penalty area, with Meret managing to get a flailing hand on the ball to push it away from danger. Solid chances for both sides in the space of a minute.
13'
Chance for SPAL! Kurtic turns in a dynamite cross from the left flank at speed, looking for Antenucci in the box; the ball just passes in front of him, out of reach, and skips away for a goal-kick.
12'
Inter clear through Skriniar and SPAL opt to play it all the way back to their keeper to restart the attack and cut off any chance of a counter.
11'
Corner to SPAL now after Lazzari sees Miranda deflect his attempted cross out on the right-hand side. It only meets the first man - Cancelo - and he turns it out for a second corner as Kurtic presses down on him.
9'
Perisic and Cionek clash in SPAL's back-right corner, in a tussle for the ball. It's the defender who appears to have the last touch to put the ball out; the referee however awards a goal kick, to the Inter player's frustration.
7'
With a second break similar to his last, Cancelo instead opts to bring the ball inside himself this time, and curls a shot in-field for the top, far-right corner that Meret leaps to collect.
5'
Cancelo darts down the left edge, then pulls a pass back to the lip of the SPAL box, only for Brozovic's touch to clip the ball away at an awkward angle and out for a goal kick.
3'
Inter look to make a quick move down the right, with a long pass lofted by Vecino - but both Candreva and Icardi realise that they are in an offside position and reel themselves back, allowing the SPAL keeper Meret to collect unhindered.
1'
We're underway! SPAL, in blue and white, are playing from left to right and have the first break in attack, with Lazzari darting down the wing, before clipping a pass inside to the left. Miranda intercepts it on the edge of the Inter box and the visitors sweep it away.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Serie A, as Inter Milan look to return to winning ways against SPAL at Paolo Mazza. The visitors are winless in their last eight games across all competitions – but against hosts threatened with relegation, can they rediscover their mojo? Kick-off is just around the corner.
Inter are on the verge of some unwanted history; the last time they registered four consecutive draws in Serie A was way back in November 2004. With three on the bounce in the league heading into today, the Nerazzurri will be desperate to notch up a win to reignite their season.
Expect a high-scoring affair today; SPAL’s last three Serie A home games have seen 15 goals netted, five per game on average. Such stats may encourage Antonio Candreva; the Inter man has fired in the most shots without scoring in Serie A this season, with a whopping 41.
Head-to-head, Inter have the better of history here; they have won 23 Serie A games against SPAL, more than any other side in the division. Their opponents have only mustered four wins of their own in comparison – though all have been at the Paolo Mazza.
Inter have scored seven goals in the 86th minute or later, more than any other team in Serie A this season. In addition, they have score more headers than anyone else, with eight; SPAL have netted no such attempts.
SPAL have conceded more goals in the opening half-hour of play in Serie A this season - with 16 - whilst Inter have conceded the least, with only two.
The teams are out at Paolo Mazza...
It's all square at the break at Paolo Mazza, in what is an oddly enthralling game. Inter have had the rub of the green in terms of attacking play, but against a SPAL defence who are standing stern, and hindered by an inability to finish, the visitors don't look as if they have the keys to break through. At half-time in Serie A, it's SPAL 0-0 Inter.
With seconds left in regular time, Inter must have thought that they had three points wrapped up. But instead, their search for a win continues; a late header from Alberto Paloschi did enough to hand SPAL a vital point in their hunt to stay in Serie A after a well-deserved second-half showing. At full-time at Paolo Mazza, it finishes SPAL 1-1 Inter.
Next time out, Inter will look to break their streak without a victory in their own back yard, as they host Crotone - whilst SPAL travel to fellow relegation battlers Cagliari, in what could be a defining game of the season for both. Until then however, thank you for joining us - and have a good week!
