R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
LEWANDOWSKI HAS HIS HAT-TRICK! A beautiful interchange between Muller and Kimmich allows the full-back to put in a centring pass for Lewandowski who turns it into the open net as Burki came out to attempt a save. Its Bayern’s sixth of the day and their first of the second half.
81'
Phillip walks into the Bayern penalty area but is unable to draw Ulreich far enough from his goal. The Dortmund winger eventually tries a shot but the keeper’s positioning was perfect and he was able to preserve the clean sheet.
78'
N. Şahin enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
Dortmund use their last substitution to remove Mario Gotze from the field, with Nuri Sahin coming on in midfield as his replacement.
75'
M. Philipp enters the game and replaces C. Pulišić.
Maximilian Phillip will replace Christian Pulisic in Peter Stoger’s second substitution of the match.
73'
Dortmund look to be preparing another substitution, but it will be a while before that change can be made as Bayern are keeping possession very well in the middle of the park.
69'
S. Rudy enters the game and replaces F. Ribéry.
The ever-involved Franck Ribery who has a goal, an assist and a yellow card today is taken off for Sebastian Rudy.
67'
Mario Gotze has Dortmund’s first real chance of the game but his shot from a central position smacks against the post and rolls out for a goal-kick. Absolutely nothing has gone the way of the away side today.
65'
F. Ribéry gets yellow.
J. Weigl gets yellow.
Thiago Alcântara enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
Tempers are flaring here as Weigl and Ribery get into a heated discussion after the Dortmund midfielder kicked out at the Frenchman with absolutely no intent to get the ball. Weigl is awarded a yellow card for his infraction.
Franck Ribery is also shown a yellow card after his reaction to Weigl's rough play. Ribery promptly after feeling the kicks to the back of his leg grabbed Weigl's jersey and gave him a shove.
James Rodriguez - who has had a superb day in midfield - is removed from the match in favour of Thiago Alcantara.
60'
Rafinha wins a corner after his cross is blocked by Papastathopolous. Rodriguez’s set-piece eludes everyone in a red jersey and Dortmund can clear into the Bayern half before the ball returns to Robben whose shot is saved by Burki.
57'
Borussia cannot get a touch of the ball as Boateng and James interchange before moving it forward with Robben. This seems more like a training drill than a derby, with Bayern not needing to get out of first gear.

Description
54'
Bayern are happy at this point to knock the ball amongst the midfield and keep possession away from Dortmund as they waste energy chasing. This time the attacking move ends in a Burki goal-kick as Rafinha’s effort sails over the bar.
48'
No doubt that Borussia Dortmund will be happy to see that David Alaba’s day is done as he was exposing enormous amounts of space on the left. Unfortunately for Peter Stoger, Alaba’s replacement – Joshua Kimmich – was hailed as one of Germany’s best talents by Joachim Low.
46'
J. Kimmich enters the game and replaces D. Alaba.
Bayern Munich open the second half with a substitution, removing David Alaba and replacing him with Joshua Kimmich.
45' +1
F. Ribéry has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Rodríguez.
James Rodriguez collects his second assist of the match, after playing Ribery in the box with a wonderfully weighted pass.
5-0 TO BAYERN MUNICH ON THE STROKE OF HALF-TIME! Ribery is left relatively open in the penalty area and inches towards Burki, drawing him out of his net before chipping the ball over the goalkeeper with precision and style. This is an absolute shambles for Dortmund.
45'
Bayern Munich get the ball rolling for the second half of Klassiker action!
44'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
ANOTHER ONE FOR BAYERN! After a comedic scramble in the penalty area caused by penetration by Ribery, Lewandowski gets on the end of the loose ball and manages to stab it home past Burki. The referee initially went to check V.A.R for any potential offside or foul, but they were unable to find any and the goal stands! 4-0 Bayern!
Franck Ribery is given credit for the assist as it was his attempted chip on Burki that put the ball in the area for Lewandowski to finish.
41'
Rodriguez whips in a free-kick with his left foot but it is defended well and cleared. Ribery gets on the end of the booted ball but the referee awards Dortmund a free-kick for an apparent handball on Rodriguez.
38'
Alaba sends the ball into the box for Ribery but the Frenchman’s first touch lets him down and Burki makes the necessary save to prevent it from being 4-0.
36'
Schurrle makes a run on the right-hand side and sends a low ball in for Batshuayi but the striker and winger were not on the same page and Hummels strolls across to easily regain possession. It has been that kind of first half for Dortmund who will certainly be eagerly awaiting the half-time whistle so they can regroup.
33'
Dahoud receives the ball in front of the Bayern penalty area and promptly loses possession. The confidence of these Dortmund players is understandably shattered after their incredibly poor start, with every pass in the final-third either misplaced or predictable and intercepted. There seems to be no variation to the away side’s attack.
29'
J. Weigl enters the game and replaces G. Castro.
Peter Stoger is making a substitution less than a half-hour into the match and I do not believe it has anything to do with an injury concern. Castro who lost possession in the build-up to Bayern’s third goal is withdrawn in favour of Julian Weigl in a move that points to Stoger’s choice to establish a more defensive unit and just not let the lead get any worse.
27'
Borussia Dortmund have had absolutely no say in this fixture so far. Akanji looks woefully uncomfortable against this Bayern attacking trio and the midfield is sparse and unorganized. Every turnover looks like it will lead to a Bayern goal and it may just be a case of not letting it get any worse for Peter Stoger.
23'
T. Müller has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Rodríguez.
IT'S JUST TOO EASY FOR BAYERN! Thomas Muller makes it 3-0 after a worryingly easy attacking move. Castro lost possession in midfield and the ball goes out wide for James Rodriguez. The Colombian looks up and sees Muller all alone in the penalty area and sends a chipped cross his way – where Muller taps it past Burki with a volley. This is getting to be embarrassing for the away side.
James Rodriguez gets the assist on the goal as it was his cross that Muller poked home with ease.
20'
Pulisic has a shot at Ulreich but the weak effort rolls comfortably into the gloves of the keeper. Down 2-0 with only 20 minutes gone, it will take much better than that for the away side to claw themselves back into the match.
17'
Dahoud takes on a shot from just inside the penalty area but the effort is always rising and goes high of the goal.
14'
J. Rodríguez has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by D. Alaba.
David Alaba's cross perfectly set up Rodriguez for the strike and will be given the assist for his role.
IT'S NOW 2-0 TO BAYERN! David Alaba’s cross from the left is met by the onrushing James Rodriguez whose stabbed shot rolls underneath Roman Burki and into the back of the net. Peter Stoger on the sideline simply cannot believe what is happening.
12'
Gotze has the ball in the Bayern penalty area but he is immediately crowded out. The ball comes just outside the box where a cross is sent to the far post for Schurrle who attempts a bicycle-kick to no avail. That would have been absolutely spectacular had he gotten his timing correct.
10'
Franck Ribery has the ball in the back of the net after a cross from Thomas Muller but the intended target of the pass – James Rodriguez – was deemed offside before touching it back to the far post for Ribery. It could have been a second in quick succession!
7'
It’s the worst possible start for Dortmund who concede for the first time in all competitions since March 11. It will take an enormous amount of resolve to get themselves out of this early hole.
5'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by T. Müller.
LEWANDOWSKI MAKES IT 1-0 WITHIN FIVE MINUTES! Thomas Muller is left all alone in the midfield and he slips the ball through to a relatively unmarked Lewandowski who easily puts it past Burki. Replays show the Polish striker may have been slightly offside, but it was certainly an extremely close either way. The goal stands and the home side have a lead!
Thomas Muller played the role of creator as his pass for Lewandowski sent the striker through on goal.
3'
Muller has the first effort of the match after attempting an audacious volley in the penalty area but it rolls wide of Burki’s left-hand post.

Batshuayi and Gotze get the match started at the Allianz Arena!
Der Klassiker is always an anticipated match in world football and today proves no exception. Today’s win for Schalke means that despite leading the league by 14 points, Bayern are still not officially Bundesliga champions. Coming off of a 2-1 defeat to RB Leipzig last week and with upcoming Champions League tie against Sevilla, the 27-time German champions will have to wait at least another week to be mathematically assured of first place.
The future of Jupp Heynckes is of constant speculation, but that has not been particularly evident on the pitch. An anomaly at the Red Bull Arena last week aside, the incumbent German champions have been in scintillating form, winning 19 of their previous 20 matches, with only a 0-0 to Hertha interrupting a stretch dating back to November 2017.
There are no certainties either for Peter Stoger who took over in December 2017. The form of Borussia has been far better under the former Koln manager, as they have been much tougher to beat. An unbeaten run in the Bundesliga which began with Stoger’s first match is contrasted with their puzzling end to their Europa League campaign.
With 66 goals scored and only 20 conceded in 27 matches, no other side comes close to both the offensive output and defensive solidity shown by Bayern. Second place in terms of goals belongs to Borussia Dortmund, which inevitably signifies that this match will be a display of attacking prowess.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of the Bundesliga fixture between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund from the Allianz Arena in Munich!
Though some may argue that this will benefit Dortmund in terms of fixture congestion, their shock elimination to RB Salzburg in the Round of 16 was certainly unimpressive as their performance was limp and lacking. Since then, two victories against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover and a draw against RB Leipzig, Dortmund has cemented themselves in fourth position, three points above the aforementioned Frankfurt, and only one behind their Rivierderby counterparts Schalke.
Bayern Munich Starting XI (4-3-3): Sven Ulreich; Rafinha, Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels, David Alaba; Thomas Muller, Javi Martinez, James Rodriguez; Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Ribery.
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, the team news has been announced! Let's begin with the home side.
Borussia Dortmund Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Roman Burki; Lukasz Piszczek, Manuel Akanji, Sokratis Papastathopolous, Marcel Schmelzer; Gonzalo Castro, Mahmoud Dahoud; Christian Pulisic, Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle; Michy Batshuayi.
Borussia Dortmund substitutes: Jeremy Toljan, Julian Weigl, Maximilian Phillip, Roman Weidenfeller, Alexander Isak, Sergio Gomez, Nuri Sahin.
Peter Stoger keeps most of the same eleven who started in Dortmund’s 1-0 win over Hannover. The only change is in defence, with Manuel Akanji replacing Omer Toprak who picked up a groin injury before the international break.
Jupp Heynckes makes six changes from the side that lost 2-1 to RB Leipzig before the international break. Rafinha and Jerome Boateng are brought into the right side of defence to replace Joshua Kimmich and Niklas Sule respectively. In midfield, James Rodriguez remains but Sebastian Rudy and Arturo Vidal make way for Javi Martinez and Arjen Robben – with the inclusion of the Dutchman pushing Thomas Muller into a midfield role. In attack, Robert Lewandowski and Franck Ribery are preferred to Sandro Wagner and Juan Bernat.
HALF-TIME: Bayern Munich 5-0 Borussia Dortmund.
After making a substitution in midfield midway through the first half in order to bring some defensive solidity, Peter Stoger’s side then conceded two more proving that there is a deeper issue. The Dortmund players look absolutely hopeless, with even the simplest of passes proving too difficult for a side who are mentally shell-shocked.
Absolutely astounding scenes at the Allianz Arena as Bayern Munich are decimating their Klassiker rivals in what may go on to be one of their biggest ever derby wins. Borussia Dortmund’s defence has been non-existent from the start as Bayern took the lead after five minutes and haven’t looked back since.
Bayern’s creativity all over the pitch has proved too much for Dortmund to handle, with four different goal scorers and four different assist providers finding their way onto the stat sheet. With five goals on only six shots on target, Dortmund have provided no resistance to a Bayern Munich side who only managed a single goal last match against Leipzig.
All intensity in the match was quickly lost as Bayern Munich raced out to an early and unassailable lead after just five minutes. By half-time, the score was an unbelievable 5-0 and from there the match turned into a training-pitch exercise. Robert Lewandowski’s late third goal added to the tally and Bayern eventually ran out 6-0 winners. Dortmund’s inability to defend at any level was compounded by a serious lack of attacking threat despite the impressive list of attackers starting.
FULL-TIME: Bayern Munich 6-0 Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund will look to put this devastating result behind them next weekend when they welcome Stuttgart to the Signal-Iduna-Park. The loss today left them four points back of rivals Schalke in second place, and only three points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen in fifth place (outside the Champions League positions).
Bayern Munich, with the win, restore their lead at the top of the table to 17 points, and could potentially win the Bundesliga next week, when they travel to Augsburg. Before then however, they have a midweek clash with Sevilla in the Champions League.
Thanks for following along with our live text commentary of Der Klassiker between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund from the Allianz Arena in Munich. Until next time!
