Liga Sagres: Academica 0 Olhanense 1

Academica remain on the edge of the Liga Sagres relegation zone after losing 1-0 at home to Olhanense on Monday.

In a fiery match at the Estadio EFAPEL, midfielder Rui Duarte scored the only goal just past the hour mark, before Academica's Flavio was sent off minutes later for a second bookable offence.

Academica had 61 percent of possession for the match and had 13 corners, but could not make their advantage count in the first half.

And 16 minutes after the break Rui Duarte struck what would be the winning goal for Olhanense.

The hosts' frustration at going behind was obvious, with Flavio's second caution, which saw him sent off on 64 minutes, one of 12 yellow cards handed out for the match.

After a promising start to the season, Academica are now on a 14 match winless streak and sit just two points above the relegation places.

Olhanense are eighth, three points behind Nacional.
