Vasco remain in touch with Atletico Mineiro

Vasco da Gama kept the pressure on Atletico Mineiro with a 1-0 Brazilian Serie A win on Sunday.
Atletico Mineiro won 4-3 at Figueirense on Saturday but Vasco remained within two points of the table-toppers after their slender home win.
It came against cellar-dwellers Atletico Goianiense, thanks to an own goal from defender Gabriel after 14 minutes.
Botafogo came from behind to secure a point in a 1-1 home draw with Fluminense in a battle between third and fourth.
Fred's goal eight minutes into the second half gave the visitors the lead but Andrezinho produced a reply 23 minutes from time.
A 10-man Palmeiras also rescued a point in a 1-1 draw, with Mazinho's late leveller earning them a point against Sao Paulo.
Luis Fabiano bagged the opener on 13 minutes for Sao Paulo and the task got harder for Palmeiras when Henrique was sent off for a second yellow card in the early stages of the second half.
Chilean Jorge Valdivia spurned a chance to equalise for Palmeiras when he failed to convert a 59th-minute penalty but they finally got their goal when Mazinho netted with eight minutes to play.
In other results, goals to Henrique and Gilberto helped Sport Recife to a 2-1 home win against Portuguesa and a 10-man Gremio trounced Cruzeiro 3-1.
Internacional and Santos played out a scoreless draw while Flamengo won 2-1 at Bahia.
