CSL: Shanghai Shenhua 2 Dalian Aerbin 2

24 June 2012 16:41

Shanghai Shenhua gave up a two-goal lead and had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Dalian Aerbin in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.

Sergio Batista's men looked headed for a comfortable win when Feng Renliang completed his brace to give the hosts a 2-0 lead after 69 minutes at Hongkou Stadium.

But Zhou Tong pulled a goal back before Nigerian forward Peter Utaka secured a point for the 11th-placed visitors, who are a spot ahead of Shenhua.

Shenhua, who will welcome the arrival of former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba at the start of July, have won just one of their past seven league outings.

Feng's brace looked set to give them a much-needed victory, but they were unable to hold on to what would have been a valuable three points.

Out-of-sorts French striker Nicolas Anelka has netted just twice this campaign, with the last of his goals coming in early April, but will be eager to partner former team-mate Drogba in the second half of the season.
