And that's it. The referee blows for full time. Final score here at San Siro is Inter 1-3 Roma.
90' +1
D. Osvaldo gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Pablo Osvaldo has been sent off for deliberate handball. That is absolutely ridiculous from the striker. There was no need to do that, at all.
90'
We'll have three minutes of added time here.
89'
I haven't got the vocabulary to tell you how good Totti has been tonight. There for instance, with one touch, he let the ball come across his body, and as it was in mid-air, he looked one way and passed the other; leaving Cambiasso is a complete spin.
88'
Zeman's side certainly don't look content with just the three goals. Lamela there, skips past Nagatomo, and looks to draw a challenge from Silvestre. As he does, the youngster tries to play in Totti down the right, but his pass is overhit and Inter have a goal kick.
86'
A Cambiasso shot is deflected by Burdisso, and Inter win a corner. Again, it's played short, and again it's wasted. Stramaccioni must be tearing his hair out.
84'
This really is brilliant from Roma. Their energy, commitment and confidence on the ball have been a joy to behold this evening. And it's enough for about 50,000 Interistas to leave San Siro.
81'
Marquinho has scored a goal for Roma! Assist by D. Osvaldo.
And that piling forward has paid off! GOAL FOR ROMA!! Osvlado chips the ball into the path of MARQUINHO, who, from a tight angle, squeezes a shot under Castellazzi. 3-1. Brilliant stuff.
80'
Roma are still piling forward here. This time, it's Marquinho who goes for a shot, but his 25 yard effort dribbles past the post.
78'
Nagatomo now, pumps the ball forward for Inter. Milito though, is given offside. Much to his disagreement.
Minute
Description
77'
M. Stekelenburg gets yellow.
76'
OH! More pressure from Roma. Lamela, again, picks out a cross, but this time it's Marquinho who can't quite put it into the back of the net. Is this going to come back and haunt Zeman's side at the end of the game?
75'
Philippe Coutinho enters the game and replaces W. Gargano.
74'
OH, Totti, you are marvellous. By the corner flag, he draws Nagatomo in, before back-heeling it into the path of Lamela. The Argentine forward then picks out Florenzi inside the area, who has all the time in the world to pick a corner of the net. The youngster gets flustered though, and shanks his shot well wide. So wide in fact, it goes out for a throw in.
72'
Roma come forward again, this time through substitute Erik Lamela. But where last year, he may have looked for the killer pass, this time, he goes back to Piris, and the Giallorossi start again.
71'
É. Lamela enters the game and replaces M. Destro.
70'
From kick off, Inter win a free kick almost immediately. Sneijder whips it in from deep on the right-hand side, but his cross is cleared by Stekelenburg.
67'
D. Osvaldo has scored a goal for Roma! Assist by F. Totti.
Oh that is marvellous. PABLO OSVALDO SCORES FOR ROMA!!! Totti, slices a pass through to the former Espanyol man, who just lifts the ball over Castellazzi, and into the back of the net. Amazing pass, amazing finish.
66'
E. Cambiasso enters the game and replaces Á. Pereira.
D. Osvaldo gets yellow.
65'
@kamakazoi replies to the earlier question: is Destro the new Torres? With this: "well could be worse, he could be the next Amouri." Very true.
64'
I do love a training ground set piece. Totti there, smashed a corner to the edge of the area, where Tachtsidis was there to hit it first time. Unfortunately, the effort was a poor one, and it went wide. By miles.
62'
Some brilliant stuff coming in on Twitter. But I want to hear from more of you: remember, @alexjmott is the place to go.
61'
The corner's a waste, and Roma clear easily.
60'
OHHHH! Great effort from Guarin. Sneijder, 30 yards from goal, lays in the Colombian on the right-hand side of the area. The former Porto man cuts back onto his left foot, and tries to curl the ball into the far corner. Stekelenburg saves well though, and tips it around the post.
58'
@baristunc27 asks the question none of us were thinking: "is destro the new torres?"
57'
Inter win a corner, and Sneijder's there to whip it in from the left. Stekelenburg comes out strongly though, and collects the ball inside his six yard box.
55'
Taddei enters the game and replaces F. Balzaretti.
Rodrigo Palacio, with virtually his first touch, lays Guarin in on goal. The Colombian though, takes a ridiculously heavy touch, and Castan gets back to block his shot.
53'
@LordAgami has weighted in with this: "Perreira has so far been successful in running in a chicken shape and provide useless crosses !" The Lord has spelt Pereira wrong, so I guess his point's invalid.
52'
And virtually as I type that previous statement, Roma miss a sitter. A ball is played in from the left by Balzaretti, and falls to Destro. The youngster snaps at his shot though, and from about six yards, fires over the bar.
51'
R. Palacio enters the game and replaces A. Cassano.
50'
Roma are camped outside the Inter box here. Ranocchia, Silvestre and Zanetti are staying strong though, and are not letting anything get past them.
48'
And that, ladies and gentlemen, should be Inter 1-2 Roma. Osvaldo is played in by Tachtsidis, and is literally all alone inside the area. He takes a touch, and with his second, skies it over the bar from 12 yards. Dear me.
47'
A. Ranocchia gets yellow.
OFFFF! Marquinho is absolutely pole-axed by Ranocchia there. The Brazilian goes on a mazy run, but is quickly stopped by the youngster. Yellow card and a free kick to Roma.
46'
Here we go then. We're back underway at San Siro, as Inter kick us off, going from right-to-left.
45' +1
A. Cassano has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by W. Sneijder.
GOOAALLL!!! And on the stroke of half time, Inter have equalised. A long ball from Sneijder found Cassano inside the area. The former Milan man turned Castan, before striking from 15 yards out. The shot was deflected up into the air by Burdisso, but the ball looped over the head of Stekelenburg, and into the back of the net. 1-1.
45'
Guarin does brilliantly well, inside his own half, to fool three Roma players and come out the other side. But he's then hacked down by Marquinho, and Inter get a free kick.
44'
Sneijder hits the free kick, but it's a comfortable save by Stekelenburg.
43'
Ah, that's more like it. Zanetti runs back to win the ball, and then starts an attack. A few passes are exchanged, before Cassano is fouled 25 yards from goal by Burdisso.
42'
For the second time tonight, Zanetti has given the ball away. That's it, I've given up on football! I thought the Argentine could do no wrong?
40'
What a ball by Guarin! The former Porto man manages - and I don't know how - to find Milito in between a crowd of players on the edge of the area. The Argentina international then wriggles his way out of the crowd to find an inch of space, but his subsequent shot is blocked by Tachtsidis.
38'
OFFFFF!! A great effort by Nagatomo. Coming on from the left-hand side, the Japan international strikes one from the edge of the area, but his effort goes just agonizingly over the bar.
36'
Osvaldo offers a wry smile as his attempt to get around Ranocchia saw him touch it past the youngster with his hand, with the referee blowing for a free kick.
34'
We've all been waiting for a bit of magic from Destro this evening, and there it was. A Maradona turn on the halfway line, saw him skip past Guarin, and then with the next touch he swiveled around the on-rushing Pereira. Unfortunately, the theatrics didn't really get him anywhere, and Nagatomo came in to dispossess him.
33'
F. Guarín gets yellow.
32'
Marquinho enters the game and replaces D. De Rossi.
De Rossi is off! Marquinho will come on to replace him, but how is this going to effect the game now? Roma's central midfield three looks awfully inexperienced to me.
31'
De Rossi has gone down in the middle of the park. And it does not look good.
30'
And there almost is another goal! Sneijder whips an amazing ball in with the outside of his right boot. Milito gets across his man, and heads wide from just eight yards out. You'd have bet your life on him scoring there.
29'
@samunlee thinks: "Inter 1-3 Roma". Whatever, I think we can all agree there'll be more goals.
28'
The free kick is whipped in by De Rossi, but Silvestre gets up well and heads clear.
27'
An Inter corner is cleared by Burdisso, and immediately, Roma break. Florenzi has it on the right-hand side, 25 yards from the Nerazzurri's goal, and goes down clutching his face after a challenge from Guarin.
26'
OHHH! Another brilliant cross from Totti deserved an awful lot better there. A throw in by Balzaretti was let across the veteran's body, who then smashed a cross first time into the box. No one could get on the end of it though, and Inter have a goal kick.
25'
@amparo_jonathan thinks Inter will win this 3-1. What do you reckon? Give me your thoughts @alexjmott on Twitter.
24'
This game has just gone absolutely manic! Possession is going from one team to the other; from one end of the pitch to the other. It's not particularly pretty, but blimey it's exciting.
22'
Again the corner is taken short, but this time Sneijder bullets the ball in after the return pass from Casano. The defenders are equal to it though, and Burdisso clears the ball away.
21'
Roma are playing the classic Zeman high-line, and it almost cost them there. A simple ball over the top from Guarin caught everyone out, and Milito was free on the left-hand touchline. The Argentina international tried to bare down on goal, but Castan got back, and blocked a shot out for a corner.
19'
More commanding possession play from Totti there. On the left-hand side of the box, he swivels past Ranocchia, and slips a pass into Osvaldo. The Italy international though, is deemed to have fouled Nagatomo when holding him off, and the referee gives Inter a free kick.
17'
M. Destro gets yellow.
And almost immediately from kick off, Inter ask for a penalty. Cassano, in the centre of the pitch, slices a ball through to Milito, who goes around the on-rushing Stekelenburg, and falls to the floor. The referee waves play on, and San Siro errupts.
15'
A. Florenzi has scored a goal for Roma! Assist by F. Totti.
Well, well, well. GOAL ROMA! A superb cross from Totti on the left-hand side picked out Alessandro Florenzi, who headed it past Castelazzi from 12 yards out, into the far-hand corner. Wonderful stuff from the youngster.
14'
I have to say, Alvaro Pereira has been excellent so far. He's not afraid to get on the ball, and is really dictating play here. That time, he played a one-two with Sneijder dowm the left, and put in a cross for Milito. Stekelenburg got there though, and pushed it away.
13'
Don't forget, I'm @alexjmott on Twitter, and I want to know what you're making of this game so far?
11'
The corner goes short and is wasted by Inter. Is that the most frustrating thing in football? The poorly executed short corner.
10'
Some nice stuff from Inter there. Pereira tackled Florenzi on the halfway line, and then gave it straight to Sneijder. The Dutch midfielder then slipped it into the path of Cassano, who laid it back to Milito. The Argentine international waited for the on-rushing Pereira, who tried a first time cross. The ball though, was blocked by Piris, and went out for a corner.
8'
I can't believe I'm typing this.....but Javier Zanetti has just given the ball away. CHEAPLY. The Argentine defender takes a poor touch on the halfway line, and gets the ball nicked off of his foot by De Rossi. The Italy international then pushes past the veteran, who concedes a free kick.
7'
A first show of class from Totti there. The veteran No. 10 takes a touch 35 yards from the Inter goal, and slips a delicious angled pass to Destro. The youngster though, pushes Nagatomo, and the Japan international wins a free kick.
6'
Pereira has it again now for the Nerazzurri. The former Porto man beats Piris down the left-hand side, and gets a cross in from the byline. The ball though, is overhit, and it goes out for a throw in on the far side.
5'
Roma have the ball again now after a poor goal kick from Castellazzi. Balzaretti comes down the left, and whips a cross into the box, but it goes all the way out the other side, and Pereira has his first touch as an Inter player. The Uruguayan plays it down the line to Milito, but his touch is poor and the ball goes for a throw in.
3'
It's a nothing free kick, and after some to-ing and fro-ing in possession, De Rossi comes away with the ball, 30 yards from the Inter goal. He takes a touch, and unleashes a shot, but the effort goes about a mile over the bar.
2'
The ball's pumped forward immediately, and Silvestre heads clear. It falls to Guarin in the centre circle, who concedes a free kick for a foul on Florenzi.
1'
And we're underway. Roma kick us off, going from left-to-right in their changed all-white strip.
Good evening everyone, and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE, play-by-play coverage, of Inter vs Roma from San Siro. I'm Alex Mott and I'll be your commentator for what's sure to be an eventful Serie A clash.
It's Zdenek Zeman's first away game as Roma boss, and he'll be looking to secure his first three points of the season against an Inter side bouyed by an excellent summer spending spree. Walter Gargano, Samir Handanovic, Antonio Cassano and Rodrigo Palacio are just some of the names that have joined the Nerazzurri during pre-season, and they'll be hoping to mark their first home game with a win.
The history of this fixture suggests that Inter are slight favourites, with Andrea Stramaccioni's side leading with 69 wins to Roma's 44. The Nerazzurri have also won more games against the capital club than any other in Italy. The Giallorossi though, have scored (199) and conceded (260) more goals against Inter than any other side. This game is sure to produce goals.
And if that wasn't enough to convince you that there will be goals this evening, then how about this: the last time Zeman was in charge of Roma for a game against Inter, the Nerazzurri won the game 5-4! Woof!
TEAM NEWS: Alvaro Pereira and Mattia Destro will make their debuts for Inter and Roma, respectively. Elswhere, Panagiotis Tachtsidis and Alessandro Florenzi will start for the Giallorossi in midfield. Inter (4-3-1-2): Castellazzi; Zanetti, Silvestre, Ranocchia, Nagatomo; Guarin, Gargano, Pereira; Sneijder; Cassano, Milito.
Roma (4-3-3): Stekelenburg; Piris, Burdisso, Castan, Balzaretti; Tachtsidis, De Rossi, Florenzi; Destro, Osvaldo, Totti.
As always, I want to hear your views on this game. Are you excited about the introduction of Pereira? How good is Destro going to be? Will it be another 5-4? Please message me @alexjmott on Twitter.
In case you didn't know, Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni was at Roma as youth coach a few years ago! Sub-plots ahoy.
You can forget Real Madrid - Granada, say goodbye to Barca - Valencia, this is the game of the night, and it'll be with you in exactly 10 minutes. Do not go anywhere!
Here we go then everyone. San Siro is buzzing, the players are entering the pitch, and we're just minutes from what I'm sure will be the best game of Serie A football this season. I promise.
And that's it. The referee blows for half time, and with virtually the last kick of the half, Inter have drawn level.
An early Florenzi header had given Roma the lead, but Cassano there, with a somewhat lucky strike, has pegged the Nerazzurri back. I'll be back in 15 minutes for the second half, but in the meantime I want to hear your views on the game via Twitter, @alexjmott
@RabeaMakhoul sums up the atmosphere on my Twitter feed nicely: "AC Milan decision to sell Cassano was stupid, what a player!"
@kamakazoi is foolish enough to second guess the madman that is Zdenek Zeman: "Miralem Pjanic will come next, his speed and accuracy is essential".
Roma have been brilliant here. Goals from Florenzi, Osvaldo and Marquinho have seen them come away with a marvellous 3-1 win, and that performance will please Zeman no end. I've been Alex Mott, you've been brilliant, See you next time.
