It is straight into the wall though and Madrid immediately counter through Kaka and Ronaldo. The pair cannot decide who should shoot, and eventually fail to get a decent effort at goal.
76'

68'
It's been quiet a response from Madrid since they went behind in 16th minute, Deportivo have been chasing shadows since they took the lead!
66'
Pepe has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Xabi Alonso.
GOALLL!!! PEPE MAKES IT 4-1!! The Portugal international increases Madrid's winning margin with a glancing header from a deep curling free-kick from the left-hand side from the right boot of Xabi Alonso.
65'
K. Benzema enters the game and replaces G. Higuaín.
64'
Madrid make their last change of the evening, Jose Mourinho choosing to replace Gonzalo Higuain with Karim Benzema. Fairly predictable swap there to be honest!
63'
Marcelo bursts into the Deportivo penalty area but is adjudged to have fouled Marchena during his travels, with the referee awarding the away side a free-kick.
62'
Ronaldo is enjoying himself out there for Madrid. The 27-year-old has pulled out some flamboyant tricks in the opposition half in the last few minutes.
60'
Aguilar has hobbled off for the away side after taking a knock defending a Madrid corner. He should be okay to continue but we will wait and see!
59'
GREAT STRIKE FROM ALONSO!! The midfielder is teed up superbly by Kaka, before drilling a rising effort at goal that Aranzubia does well to tip round the post.
58'
Xabi Alonso enters the game and replaces L. Modrić.
57'
The game has lost its flow a bit as both sides make changes, Madrid now bringing on Xabi Alonso for Luka Modric.

Yellow card for Modric after he handles the ball on the halfway line.
49'
Modric wins a free-kick for Madrid on the left, but the set piece is wasted and nearly allows the away side a chance to counter attack. The ball is overrun by Gama though, and Marcelo is able to come across and steal the ball back.
47'
The home side immediately break down the left through Marcelo. The Brazilian dinks the ball back towards Modric from the byline but the Croatian cannot make contact with the cross and it runs away to safety.

Laure enters the game and replaces Manuel Pablo.
Madrid get us underway, Mesut Ozil makes way for Kaka.
45'
The referee blows his whistle to mark the end of the first half, Madrid are in control here.
44'
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Real Madrid!
GOALLL!!! CRISTIANO RONALDO MAKES IT 3-1!! Aranzubia does well to stop the initial shot from Higuain, but some static defending from the Deportivo backline allows Ronaldo to steal in and head home from close range.
41'
Madrid are having to play with the ball inside their own half at the moment as Deportivo pressure their opponents high up the pitch.

34'
M. Özil gets yellow.
Madrid win a corner on the left after Ronaldo plays the ball out off the legs of Pablo.
32'
Pablo has got to be careful for Deportivo!! The right-back comes across to put pressure on Ronaldo as he looks to shoot at goal from 12 yards out, and very nearly catches the Madrid man. He would have been off if he had, and the home side would have had another penalty.
31'
Some of Madrid's passing in the attacking third has been far too predictable in the opening half an hour here, with Di Maria in particular guilty of playing some obvious passes that Deportivo have been able to read and intercept.
30'
Gama is being pulled back in order to help Pablo defensively on the right-hand side for Deportivo as Di Maria and Marcelo continue to find large amounts of space down that flank.
28'
Marcelo lets fly with a shot from distance but a good block from Ze Castro stops the Brazilian's effort from reaching its intended target of the Deportivo goal.
27'
Strange behaviour from Ronaldo! Ozil brings the ball forward through the middle for Madrid and slides a pass to Ronaldo who is running into the Deportivo box but the attacker seems to have stopped his run just as his team-mate plays the pass, and the ball runs out for a goal-kick.
25'
Aranzubia slices the ball out for a Madrid throw-in deep in Deportivo's half under pressure from Di Maria. Madrid are well on top here, and look far more likely to score the game's next goal.
24'
Manuel Pablo got a yellow card for that foul on Di Maria that resulted in the penalty for Madrid. His clumsy challenge was right on the edge of the penalty area.
23'
Penalty goal scored by Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid!

What I wrote in the last post? Well, Di Maria has now got the better of Pablo in the exact same position, he has won a penalty for Madrid!
21'
Pablo snuffs out the danger posed by Di Maria in Deportivo's right-back position with a well-timed challenge on the attacker as he looks to jinx his way into the penalty area.
20'
Deportivo have lost their last five matches at the Bernabeu, but they are in the lead tonight.
18'
DI MARIA SHOOTS JUST OVER!! The Argentine, played on by Evaldo, races on to a through-ball from Ozil before lifting a lob over both the goalkeeper Aranzubia and the crossbar. Real Madrid are looking to hit back immediately!
17'
That goal was completely out of nowhere! Deportivo had barely had the ball before Riki scored moments ago. Jose Mourinho looks furious on the sidelines!
16'
Riki has scored a goal for Deportivo La Coruña! Assist by Bruno Gama.
GOALL!!! DEPORTIVO HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD!! Riki notches his third goal of the season to give the away side a surprise lead at the Bernabeu after ghosting past the challenge of Pepe on his way into the area, and then poking a right-foot shot past Iker Casillas and into the bottom left-hand corner.
14'
Cristiano Ronaldo has a chance to test Aranzubia from 20 yards out but his effort at goal is wayward as he slices across the ball with his right foot and it flies out for a goal-kick to the visitors.
13'
Cheeky from Ronaldo! The Portuguese forward pulls off a nonchalant flick to knock the ball on to Marcelo, but the Brazilian full-back is not on the same wavelength as his team-mate sadly and fails to control the ball.
12'
Ze Castro and the experience Carlos Marchena are doing a decent job keeping Madrid's potent attack quiet at the moment. Both defender's positioning has been top notch so far.
10'
Ozil threads a neat ball through the Depor defence to Higuain inside the Deportivo box but the linesman has his flag up for offside and play is brought back.
8'
Di Maria goes racing down the right-hand side for Madrid and does well to get the wrong side of the left-back Evaldo and slide a cross into the penalty area but Ze Castro steps across to intercept the ball ahead of Higuain.
7'
That's a waste from Marcelo! The Madrid full-back has a throw-in just inside his own half, and rather than playing a short pass to a team-mate, he hurls it all the way through to Aranzubia in the Depor goal.
5'
Down goes Di Maria on the halfway line under a challenge from Bergantinos. I think we might see a bit of that tonight. The 27-year-old has got a task on his hands playing in that defensive midfield role against Madrid.
4'
Mesut Ozil has already seen a lot of the ball and we are only in the 4th minute. The Germany international was dropped for their last match against Rayo Vallecano, with Luka Modric chosen ahead of him by Mourinho. The Portuguese coach will be expecting a performance from Ozil are reinstating him this evening.
3'
Madrid are looking to work the ball down the right-hand side in the opening exchanges, but Evaldo has put in a couple of blocks to stop their progress so far.

The match has started here at the Bernabeu, with the ball being swapped between the two sides early on.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of tonight's Liga clash between Real Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna at the Santiago Bernabeu. My name is Charlie Scott, and I'm the lucky guy who will be providing you with comprehensive updates from the match as it unfolds.
Jose Mourinho's side are just the 11 (YES ELEVEN) points behind Barcelona at this point in the Liga season, having made a far from impressive start. They will be looking to cut that gap by three points with a victory over a 13th placed Deportivo team tonight, and have named an attacking line-up as they seek to get their season back on track.
I've teased you with that last comment, so I guess I better bring you the starting line-ups. Here we go...
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Casillas; Ramos, Varane, Pepe, Marcelo; Modric, Khedira; Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo; Higuain
Deportivo (4-2-3-1): Aranzubia; Manuel Pablo, Ze Castro, Marchena, Evaldo; Bergantinos, Dominguez; Pizzi, Aguilar, Gama; Riki
So, in summary for Madrid, Jose Mourinho makes four alterations to the side that beat Rayo Vallecano on Monday evening for tonight's game, with Xabi Alonso and Karim Benzema the highest-profile casualties. Alvaro Arbeloa and Michael Essien are the other two to miss out, with Luka Modric, Gonzalo Higuain, Raphael Varane and Sami Khedira handed starts.
Deportivo boss Jose Luis Oltra also makes changes to his side, with Ze Castro replacing Aythami at centre-back and Alex Bergantinos and Pizzi starting in midfield ahead of Jesus Vazquez and Juan Carlos Valeron.
A slight shame that Valeron is on the bench for the away side, but with Deportivo unlikely to see much of the ball tonight it is fair enough, the 37-year-old isn't as spritely as he used to be!
The teams are out on the pitch here, and after some whistling and applauding for a female Spanish Olympian in the middle of the pitch, we are close to getting underway.
HALF-TIME: REAL MADRID 3-1 DEPORTIVO. Despite going behind to a 16th minute goal from Riki, Madrid are in front here at the Bernabeu, thanks to a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo and a well-taken finish from Angel Di Maria. Deportivo's defence started well but have looked increasingly shaky as the game has gone on, so don't be surprised if there are more goals here! Join me in 10 minutes for the second half of this match.
Madrid look set to make changes here at half-time, with Kaka one of the players about to come on for the home side.
FULL-TIME: REAL MADRID 5-1 DEPORTIVO. Cristiano Ronaldo netted a hat-trick this evening for Madrid, after they went behind to a 16th minute goal from Deportivo's Riki. Di Maria and Pepe were also on the scoresheet for the home side, as they cut the gap between them and Barcelona from 11 points to eight with an accomplished performance tonight.
That's all from me for tonight guys. Thanks for joining me! Good night!
