We're into the final minute, no added time has been indicated as yet...
87'
It's taken a while but now the Bavarians inside the stadium have finally found their voice. The home crowd now in full voice as they can enjoy a job well done, a job that must have seemed a while away at the break.
85'
They may have scored four but Bayern aren't acting like a side that are quite finished. Robben is still closing down like a greyhound on a track in the Mainz half and Bayern's work-rate is still outstanding.
83'
Robben looked like he was stepping up to take that penalty for a minute before Muller told him otherwise. The Dutchman clearly wasn't happy about being relieved of the penalty taking duties but the toys remained in the pram, just.
82'
Penalty goal scored by T. Müller for Bayern Munich!
GOOAAALLL!!! MULLER FROM THE SPOT!!! Muller puts the gloss on an emphatic comeback, sending Wetklo the wrong way.
80'
PENALTY! Schweinsteiger goes down in the area under the challenge of Junior Diaz. It looks soft, but Bayern don't care.
79'
B. Saller enters the game and replaces S. Parker.
The free kick isn't the greatest of efforts as Neuer gets behind Gies' effort with ease. Just over ten minutes to go now.
77'
J. Kirchhoff gets yellow.
A free kick for for Mainz and a yellow card as Nicolai Muller's ramble through the Bayern half is prematurely curtailed by Kirchhoff.
74'
J. Kirchhoff enters the game and replaces M. Mandžukić.
A big moment for Jan Kirchhoff as he comes on for Bayern to face his former club. He replaces Mario Mandzukic, who will feel a little happier after a much more productive second half.
73'
It looked very rosy for Mainz at the break but with that barrage of goals comes the sinking realisation that this is a side without a win since August. The manner of their surrender today won't help the mood in the camp either.
Minute
Description
71'
ALMOST FOUR!!! A fantastic fingertip stop from Wetklo as Bastian Schweinsteiger volleys Robben's cross into the ground, the effort having to be tipped over the crossbar by the Mainz keeper.
69'
M. Mandžukić has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by M. Götze.
GOOAAALLL!!! MANDZUKIC ADDS A THIRD!!! The Croatian finally gets on the scoresheet but it's been all about the impact of Mario Gotze as he turns provider yet again, cutting the ball back from the bye-line for the no.9 to stroke home.
68'
CHANCES! Mainz have clearly been working on their set pieces on the training ground as they produce a couple of well worked moves that provide chances for Diaz and Choupo-Moting. Neither are taken though.
67'
C. Moritz enters the game and replaces J. Baumgartlinger.
66'
Good stop from Neuer! Nicolai Muller, the Bundesliga's top scorer so far this season, has been pretty quiet all afternoon but suddenly finds himself with a bit of space to run into on the right hand side of the box and his rasping drive has to be pushed behind by the German goalkeeper at his near post.
64'
Stefan Bell comes in with a fair challenge on Mandzukic this time, and it's an important one too as the Croatian threatens to burst into the box.
62'
It's Alaba who steps up to take it but he cracks his effort straight into the wall. A bit of waste that.
61'
Stefan Bell bundles Mandzukic over as both players go for the aerial ball. It's a free kick in a central position and there are a few in red who would fancy a shot from here.
59'
Mainz had been playing with three centre-backs before that change. Tuchel obviously feel things need to be shaken up if they're to cause the hosts any problems in this half.
57'
Park Joo-Ho enters the game and replaces B. Svensson.
The substitution is made as defender Bo Svensson makes way for the South Korean international.
56'
Can Mainz to anything to stem the tide here? Thomas Tuchel is lining up his side's first change of this afternoon with Joo-Ho Park ready to come on.
54'
That is as clinical a turnaround as you are likely to see in the Bundesliga. It almost gets worse for the visitors as Mandzukic forces Wetklo into a smart stop to deny Guardiola's men a quickfire third.
52'
T. Müller has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by A. Robben.
GOOAALL!!! MULLER FOR BAYERN!! Blink and you'll miss it. Die Roten have steamrollered Mainz in the opening minutes of this half and now have the lead to show for it. Contento's low cross is worked beautifully by, first Gotze and then Robben, into the path of Muller who takes one touch before finding the corner from 12-yards out.
50'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by M. Götze.
GOOAAAALLL!!!! ROBBEN LEVELS!!! Very promising indeed. Substitute Gotze slices the Mainz defence in half with smart through-ball which finds Robben in acres of space. The Dutchman then has all the time in the world to set himself and place the ball beyond Wetklo.
48'
A cross from the left early in the half is met by the leap of Mandzukic but he can't divert his effort on goal. Bayern are looking a little more direct in the opening stages of this half. Promising for the hosts.
46'
M. Götze enters the game and replaces Rafinha.
Gotze comes on for Rafinha as Bayern look for more attacking options. We are back underway for the second half.
45' +2
We've had two minutes of added time and that will do us for the opening half!
45'
What an end to the half that is. Bayern Munich look desperately for a quick repsonse but Robben wastes a free kick after he is brought to ground by Noveski, the ball put behind for a corner.
44'
S. Parker has scored a goal for Mainz! Assist by J. Baumgartlinger.
GOOOAAALLLL!!! PARKER PUTS MAINZ AHEAD!!! Shock on? Well, well, Parker gives Mainz the lead after an awful mistake from Boateng. The German defender fails to cut out Baumgartlinger's long ball and that allows Parker to nip in, round Neuer and put Die Nullfunfer ahead.
43'
D. Alaba enters the game and replaces Dante.
Another corner for the hosts, another header wide as Philipp Lahm nods wide from a deep cross.
42'
The Brazilian has come off a lot worse. So much so that David Alaba is on to replace him. That's a blow ahead of a Champions League week for the European champions.
40'
Dante is limping after a heavy challenge with Pospech. Both refused to pull out of that tackle and it's the Brazilian that has come off worse.
38'
The majority of the Bayern Munich side were on international duty last weekend and no fewer than seven of them left to join the German national side. There does look to be a touch of fatigue in those Bayern legs at the moment, perhaps those beers to celebrate reaching the World Cup finals weren't such a great idea after all.
36'
If Mainz are to pose any sort of threat to their hosts this afternoon, they'll have to take advantage of any counter-attacking opportunity they get. They certainly don't make the most on this occasion as Shawn Parker breaks into acres of space, but gets his shot horribly wrong when he cuts back onto his right foot.
34'
Robben fires the first shot on goal as a cleared corner finds it's way to him on the edge of the area. He lets the ball sit up so he can catch it on the half-volley but he gets his connection all wrong and it sails wide.
32'
Munich have their second corner and Dante again is up from the back to meet it but he doesn't get much of a connection, the ball trickling wide of Wetklo's post.
30'
Die Roten are still looking to wear down their opponents by keeping the ball for long periods. It isn't working so far though, and perhaps a sliver of frustration creeping in as Schweinsteiger has a shot blocked from a good 30-yards-out. I don't think that's in the tika-taka coaching manual.
28'
There are a couple of Bayern Munich players who are being given a chance to shine by Guardiola today. One of them is Mario Mandzukic, who hasn't featured that heavily since the Spaniard took charge. The Croatian will be desperate to make his mark on today's encounter.
26'
Thomas Muller goes down in the area after a coming together with Baumgartlinger. Referee Thorsten Kinhofer, and Muller, to his credit, isn't making anything of it either.
24'
We're halfway through the opening period then and still no goals. In fact, goalmouth action has been pretty hard to come by so far. Tuchel will be very pleased with his side's defensive display so far.
22'
Dante and Boateng are up from the back for this one and the Brazilian rises highest to meet the set piece, but he heads just over Wetklo's crossbar.
21'
Free kick to Bayern as Junior Diaz bundles over Arjen Robben. The Dutch winger will sling this one into the area.
19'
Nicolai Muller gets down the right for Mainz as they break for the first time. He swings in a dangerous cross that Boateng has to knock behind for a corner at full-stretch. It's just as well he got there as Shawn Parker was lurking behind him completely unmarked.
17'
There is certainly an early reliance on the right flank from the hosts. It doesn't look like Muller fancies staying out on the wing today. That may limit his side's attacking options.
15'
Bayern are quite content to knock the ball about the back four at the moment. Dante and Boateng exchange passes on the halfway line as just about every other player on the pitch waits in the Mainz half for the next Bayern attack.
13'
Bayern have their first corner of the game and the cross finds Dante in the centre. He can't get any real purchase on it and has to head the ball back into the mix instead of goalwards, where it's cleared by the Mainz defence.
11'
It's been a slow start by the champions, who we've been used to seeing fly out of the traps this season. Mainz, as you'd expect, are quite happy to sit back for the moment and soak up the early pressure. Not conceding early is key for any away side at the Allianz Arena.
9'
Muller takes the ball down in the box and suddenly Bayern are in! The excitement is short-lived though as the linesman's flag prevents any chance materializing. To say Muller isn't best pleased with that decision would be an understatement.
7'
As you'd expect, Guardiola's side are enjoying the majority of possession early on. The early passes have been concentrated through the middle, but no joy yet for the hosts.
5'
You can't help but wonder if Munich will miss Ribery this afternoon. Robben still gives them natural width down the right, but it will be interesting to see if Muller sticks to his wide berth on the left hand side. That could force the home side to concentrate their play through the middle.
3'
Mainz are in their change kit for their visit to the Allianz Arena this afternoon. Their last victory came here back in 2011 as they romped to seven victories in their opening seven games in the Bundesliga. Their form hasn't been quite as scintillating this season however.
1'
We are underway in Munich! Guardiola's men get back to winning ways then after their draw with Leverkusen last time out?
Good afternoon and welcome to coverage from the Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Mainz. I'm Harry Slavin and I'll be here to take you through all the action from the Allianz Arena.
After the international break it's back to domestic duties in the Bundesliga. Pep Guardiola's side will be looking to climb back to the summit of the German League with a victory over Mainz today. They're currently second in the table after Bayer Leverkusen seized top spot last night with a hugely controversial win over Hoffenheim.
Yes it's been a pretty eventful weekend in German football already after last night's match and 'that' ghost goal from Stefan Kiessling. Bayern themselves are no strangers to the concept of goals that weren't. They replayed a match against Nuremburg in 1994 after Thomas Helmer was awarded a goal that never found the net in a 2-1 victory. They subsequently went on to romp that replay 5-0. No word yet if last night's game will be replayed but watch this space.
Anyway, back to this afternoon's action and hopefully there's still plenty of drama to come. We are only about ten minutes away from kick off so let's get some team news up.
No Franck Ribery for the champions then, not even on the bench, so the Frenchman will have to wait to overtake Holger Hieronymus as the player with the most consecutive appearances without losing in the Bundesliga.
Meanwhile there is a huge boost for Thomas Tuchel's men as Nicolai Muller overcoming an ankle knock to start for Die Nullfunfer.
HALF-TIME: BAYERN 0-1 MAINZ. Now there's a half-time scoreline that few people would have predicted. Mainz have been efficient in defence, restricting the hosts to long-range efforts and off-target headers and it's a piece of sloppy defence at the other end that allowed Parker in to give Thomas Tuchel's side a shock lead at the break.
There are currently three survivors in the Mainz side today from the squad that last won against Bayern at the Allianz. Goalkeeper Wetklo and defensive duo Svensson and Noveski all started in a 2-1 victory back in 2010. The trio are halfway to replicating that famous victory.
FOOTBALL FACT-ORY: In the Bundesliga, 51.94% of all players are home grown, with 228 Germans playing in the league. Of all the teams, Mainz have 17 Germans in their squad who have played in the top flight, that's more than any other team.
The teams are just about ready to get back underway, and it looks as though Pep is ready to make his second change of the game already. It's unsurprising after that lacklustre opening half.
FULL-TIME: BAYERN 4-1 MAINZ. There is no added time as Thorsten Kinhofer calls a halt to proceedings bang on 90 minutes. An emphatic second-half blitz from the champions sees them leapfrog Leverkusen back to the top of the Bundesliga, largely thanks to the impact of substitute Mario Gotze.
That's it from the Allianz Arena. Thanks for joining me, Harry Slavin, and until next time, goodbye!
