Into stoppage time now and this looks likely to be Liverpool's first win of pre-season after an excellent second-half showing.
88'
Almost a third for Liverpool as Peterson plays Coady in behind, but the former Sheffield United loanee can only slice his effort wide of the post.
87'
Just three minutes plus stoppage time for Liverpool to hold on, and they look like they have what it takes to see this one out.
85'
GOOD SAVE! Stuckmann is called into action again as Ibe curls in a cross from the left that is heading goalwards, only for the German to push it away from danger.
83'
A. Phillips enters the game and replaces K. Adorján.
Preston just haven't carried the same attacking threat in the second half, with few of the players on show at present suggesting they will trouble Grayson's first half side for a starting berth come the League One season in three weeks.
81'
Liverpool certainly look like they have plenty of talented youngsters coming through, and expect plenty to get opportunities either out on loan or at Anfield this season. The future after Luis Suarez might be bright after all.
79'
Preston now have it all to do to find an equaliser, but they haven been powerless to stop Ibe since he replaced Can in the first half. The winger is doing all he can to get into Rodgers' plans for the upcoming campaign.
78'
J. Hugill enters the game and replaces K. Davies.
J. Byrom enters the game and replaces P. Huntington.
77'
K. Peterson has scored a goal for Liverpool! Assist by J. Ibe.
GOAL!!! Ibe is again the architect as he skips away from defenders on the left-hand side before reaching the byline. From there he pulls the ball back into Peterson's path, and the young Swede finds the net via a deflection that takes it over Stuckmann.
76'
Liverpool have their tails up now and Adorjan is able to win a corner on the left-hand side. The visitors are probably the favourites heading into the final moments.
Minute
Description
74'
Suso has scored a goal for Liverpool! Assist by J. Ibe.
GOAL!!! Finally Liverpool find an equaliser and it's Suso who has found the net. Ibe breaks across the pitch from left to right before feeding the young Spaniard, who in turn cuts inside and curls a fine effort into the top corner.
72'
Suso and Ibe are going to be key for Liverpool you feel if they are going to find an equaliser here. At present though, Preston look fairly comfortable.
70'
José Enrique enters the game and replaces J. Robinson.
Liverpool make their eleventh change as Robinson is replaced by Enrique at left-back. Good reception for the Spanish full-back as he makes his first appearance since November.
69'
All those substitutions have caused the match to fall a little flat, with both teams still getting used to their various roles. Got to remember this is only pre-season though.
67'
There were, in fact, seven changes made by Rodgers a few moments ago, meaning only goalkeeper Jones remains from the line-up that started the match. Can the youngsters pull this back for the visitors?
65'
JUST WIDE! Suddenly Liverpool look less laboured and Ibe goes close as he cuts inside from the left before curling a deflected effort just wide of the post. The young midfielder has again impressed since replacing Can.
64'
J. Rossiter enters the game and replaces M. Škrtel.
L. Jones enters the game and replaces Philippe Coutinho.
K. Adorján enters the game and replaces F. Borini.
K. Stewart enters the game and replaces A. Wisdom.
C. Coady enters the game and replaces J. Allen.
K. Peterson enters the game and replaces J. Flanagan.
S. Coates enters the game and replaces Lucas Leiva.
63'
Here come the changes for Liverpool. In total, six men are coming on, with the likes of Borini, Skrtel and Coutinho replaced. In their place come a number of youth products as well as Coates.
61'
Suso, in comparison, continues to impress, and after again coming inside from the right, he hits a good low effort that Stuckmann has to get down to his left to hold onto.
60'
Preston are inviting pressure from the visitors but look well organised in defence. Borini has barely had a touch since the break as he looks to lead the line on his own.
58'
Liverpool win a corner on right-hand side as their second-half dominance continues, but Skrtel is penalised for pulling Huntington's shirt and again Preston can clear.
56'
Still very few spaces for Liverpool to take advantage of, but they almost get in behind as Suso plays in Coutinho, but the Brazilian cannot get away from Huntington and the chance is gone.
54'
Humphrey looks to get in behind with his pace down the right-hand side, but Skrtel is able to get across and play the ball back to Jones in the Liverpool goal.
52'
Preston haven't quite got going in the second half as yet, with their changed line-up taking some time to get up to speed with the match. Liverpool will be looking to take advantage sooner rather than later.
50'
Suso has looked bright in the opening stages of the second period, and he creates the first chance of the second period as he cuts inside from the right, only to drag his effort wide of the post.
48'
Flanagan immediately looks more comfortable on the right-hand side, and with Suso offering some width this could prove a tough test for Preston's second-string side.
46'
K. Keane enters the game and replaces A. Browne.
P. Huntington enters the game and replaces B. Wright.
J. Welsh enters the game and replaces J. Brownhill.
A. Little enters the game and replaces J. Garner.
T. Stuckmann enters the game and replaces J. Jones.
K. Davies enters the game and replaces P. Gallagher.
C. Humphrey enters the game and replaces N. Kilkenny.
J. King enters the game and replaces T. Clarke.
J. Robinson enters the game and replaces M. Kelly.
B. Davies enters the game and replaces D. Buchanan.
Suso enters the game and replaces R. Lambert.
S. Laird enters the game and replaces W. Hayhurst.
S. Wiseman enters the game and replaces C. Woods.
Liverpool get the second half underway as they look to get back into the game...
45' +1
J. Brownhill has scored a goal for Preston North End!
GOAL!!! Preston take the lead and it's a comedy of errors from Liverpool. Hayhurst's corner from the right is a good one, but Lucas' header can only find Garner at the back post. His volley is parried by Jones but Brownhill cannot miss from two yards to put the hosts in the lead.
44'
Other than one effort straight at Jones, Lambert has struggled to get going on his Reds debut. After starting training early after the World Cup, there is a chance he is still recovering from what was a long 2013-14 season for the former Southampton man.
42'
With the conditions pretty humid, there has been little in the way of free-flowing attacking play, and with just three minutes until half-time both sides are beginning to wind down to the break.
40'
Flanagan finally gets involved down the left-hand side but his touch is heavy as he looks to go around Woods. Preston will be happy enough with a goal kick from that position.
38'
Liverpool have been inhibited by a lack of width from Kelly and Flanagan, with the full-backs having little impact on the game thus far. Rodgers' side are preferring to play through midfield at present.
36'
Allen and Ibe are looking to find Borini and Lambert but neither striker has really managed to get into the game as yet. Preston proving a difficult nut to crack.
34'
BIG CHANCE! Now Liverpool have their chance to take the lead as a delicate touch from Lambert finds Ibe, but after taking a touch the youngster can only blaze his effort over the bar.
33'
GOOD SAVE! Coutinho loses the ball in midfield and Garner is able to break into the Liverpool box. The striker opts to hit his effort across Jones but the Australian goalkeeper does well to parry away to his right.
32'
Preston have certainly come to terms with the slight change of shape from Liverpool after Ibe's introduction, with Kilkenny and Browne getting close to the youngster and Coutinho in the middle of the park.
30'
There is certainly a pre-season feeling to this game, but there is still plenty of quality on show. As the game wears on Liverpool will hope their overall ability will prove to be the difference.
28'
Lambert finally comes into life inside the box as, after Ibe breaks into the box, the England striker hits a powerful first-time effort that Jones needs two chances to keep hold of.
27'
An error of judgement from stand-in Liverpool skipper Skrtel hands Preston a corner on the left, but the visitors can clear Gallagher's poor ball into the box.
25'
Some concern for Preston now as Buchanan has gone down clutching his knee as he looked to challenge Coutinho. He is up after treatment from the physio, but he doesn't look comfortable.
23'
Ibe has certainly been bright with his pace since being introduced, and he certainly brings something different to the Liverpool team with his direct running.
21'
J. Ibe enters the game and replaces E. Can.
Big blow here for Liverpool as Can is forced to limp off on his Reds debut, with Ibe on in his place. Not the start the new signing from Bayer Leverkusen would have wanted.
19'
From the resulting corner, Browne is able to lose his marker and head goalwards. His effort, though, is just off-target and Jones can watch it bounce wide of his left-hand post.
18'
GOOD SAVE! Brownhill is the latest to try his luck from distance for the hosts and Jones has to get across quickly to his right to tip it around the post.
17'
Coutinho hasn't been able to have much of an impact on proceedings as yet while Lambert has also been quiet on his Reds debut. Preston manager Grayson will certainly be pleased with the way his side have defended.
15'
Preston are able to win a corner on the left-hand side through Brown but Liverpool are able to clear their lines. Certainly a bright start from Preston against their illustrious opposition.
13'
JUST OVER! Preston are certainly having a go and Kilkenny goes close with a rasping drive from 25 yards that flies just over the crossbar. Replays suggest there was a deflection off Wisdom, but the referee awards a goal kick.
12'
Borini again gets in behind Wright but Preston captain Clarke is able to get across this time to make a tackle and concede a corner. The resulting set-piece is eventually cleared by the hosts.
10'
Borini's movement is causing Preston problems, and he is almost in on goal again as Allen plays an excellent through ball into the path of the former Chelsea man, but Jones is off his line quickly to neutralise the danger.
8'
Almost a chance for Borini as a poor ball from Buchanan across the edge of his own area is latched onto by the Italian, but his first-time shot is weak and bobbles harmlessly wide.
6'
GOOD SAVE! First real chance for either side as Garner finds space on the edge of the box, and his curling effort is a good one, only for Jones to get across to his left and parry the shot away.
5'
Lucas and Can are seeing plenty of the ball at the heart of the Liverpool midfield, though they haven't quite been able to set a fast tempo as yet. Preston happy to let the visitors have the ball around the centre circle.
3'
Liverpool begin with some neat interplay in the centre of the field, though after a loose pass from Lucas, Preston are able to launch an attack that ends with Garner's shot being blocked on the edge of the box.

Preston kick-off and we are underway in Lancashire...
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Liverpool's latest pre-season friendly against Preston North End. Brendan Rodgers' side were defeated by Brondby on Wednesday and will be keen to get a win under their belts as their preparations for the 2014-15 campaign continue. I'm Tom Maston and I'll be bringing you all the action from Deepdale.
League One's Preston missed out on promotion after losing to Rotherham in the play-offs, and they should provide tough opposition for the Reds with just three weeks until they get their own season underway. Simon Grayson has chosen to play two seperate line-ups this afternoon.
Before we go any further, the two teams for the first half have been announced ahead of kick-off...
Summer signings Emre Can and Rickie Lambert make their first appearances for Liverpool, with boyhood Reds supporter Lambert handed the iconic No. 9 shirt. Fabio Borini is also included despite reportedly being close to a £14 million move to Sunderland.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed to BT Sport prior to kick-off that an agreement has been reached with Sunderland for the transfer of Borini, but with no personal terms discussed the striker will take his place in the Liverpool side today. His departure could pave the way for Loic Remy, who is widely reported to be a close to a move to Anfield, to join the Reds from QPR.
There are now just five minutes until kick-off, with both sets of suppoorters set to celebrate the life of Bill Shankly, who played for Preston before going onto being a legendary manager for the Anfield outfit. There are plenty of banners baring his image around the ground, with a crowd of 15,000 expected in Lancashire.
The teams are making their way into the tunnel, with Martin Skrtel at the front of the Liverpool queue as captain this afternoon. He will be partnered by Andre Wisdom at the heart of the Reds' defence.
The two teams make their way out onto the pitch and we are just moments away from kick-off at Deepdale. Can Liverpool pick up a first win of pre-season or can Preston pick up a notable scalp? We're about to find out...
And with that the half-time whistle goes, and Rodgers will be hoping his side can lift themselves for the second period after a disappointing showing thus far. Preston, meanwhile, will make 11 changes at the break. I'll be back in 10 minutes for the restart.
Just a quick reminder that Preston are going to make 11 changes for the second half. Their line-up will be as follows: Stuckmann, Wiseman, King, Huntington, Davies, Humphrey, Welsh, Keane, Laird, Davies, Little
The two teams are making their way back out onto the field. Liverpool have made two changes, with Lambert and Kelly replaced by Suso and Robinson.
A number of Liverpool players, including Daniel Sturridge, Steven Gerrard and Mamadou Sakho are still on their post-World Cup holidays while Lazar Markovic only arrived in midweek so isn't included. Jose Enrique, though, is on the bench as he continues his recovery from injury that ruled him out of much of the 2013-14 season.
Just a minute of added time before the final whistle blows, and Liverpool have secured a first win of pre-season thanks to second half goals from Suso and Peterson. Ibe was mightily impressive, but their first half showing was further evidence as to how much they are missing their World Cup stars.
Brendan Rodgers' side now jet off to the USA to take on the likes of Manchester City and AC Milan in the States, and it will be interesting to see whether Can makes the trip after limping off today. For now, though, I've been Tom Maston, and thanks for joining me.
