Depor are not showing the same desire to get a goal now, with the game clearly beyond them despite the hosts being forced to play the remainder with just 10 men.
90' +2
Marcelo has taken both of his boots off, so it doesn't appear as though he is going to be coming back onto the pitch.
90' +1
We are into the first of an additional five minutes. Marcelo remains off the field receiving treatment.
89'
Laure gets yellow.
Marcelo has gone down now, with the left-back looking to be in some pain after a tackle from Laure which earns the right-back a yellow card. Ancelotti will hope it's nothing too serious with Coentrao out due to injury and the Champions League approaching.
87'
SO CLOSE! Jese does brilliantly to knock the ball past Lopo and provide a cross from the byline. Despite sliding to connect with it, he manages to pick out Ronaldo who narrowly misses the target with an acrobatic volley! That would have been a special goal.
86'
Jesé enters the game and replaces K. Benzema.
Ancelotti now makes his final substitution, introducing Jese in place of the scorer of the second goal, Benzema.
85'
Juan Domínguez enters the game and replaces C. Borges.
Another change from Depor, with Borges making way for Juan Dominguez.
84'
Bale gets the set-piece over the wall, but it is aimed straight down the centre of the goal. There must be some swerve on it as Fabricio dives out and punches it clear, just to be sure.
83'
Lopo gets yellow.
Lopo is caught short by Ronaldo, with the Portuguese knocking the ball beyond him and looking to drive to the byline. The centre-back sticks out a leg to stop him in his track, resulting in a yellow card and a free kick in a dangerous area for the hosts.
Minute
Description
81'
Casillas kicks the ball straight to Medunjanin, and as Depor catch Madrid short Arbeola concedes a free kick for diving in on Helder Costa. The set-piece is struck by the Bosnian, who fails to beat the wall.
80'
Dani Carvajal enters the game and replaces Isco.
Medunjanin quickly heads towards the set-piece but Cavaleiro is the man to take it on. The Portuguese's effort is woeful and flies high above the target. The break in play is used by Ancelotti to replace Isco with Dani Carvajal.
79'
H. Medunjanin enters the game and replaces Lucas Pérez.
Before the free kick is taken, Haris Medunjanin comes on in place of Lucas Perez.
78'
Arbeloa gets yellow.
The hosts break at pace but Ronaldo's attempt to find Benzema at the top of the box is intercepted. Depor then quickly push up the other end, and Cuenca draws a foul from Arbeloa just outside the area. The referee deems the challenge worthy of a yellow card.
77'
Depor are remaining positive despite that second goal for the hosts. They need to be careful not to overcommit or they could well see the gap between the two sides open up.
75'
Cavaleiro has been on the deck for a short while after a collision with Varane. After some attention from the medical staff he is able to walk off to the sidelines. He doesn't look seriously injured, fortunately for the visitors.
73'
K. Benzema has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Cristiano Ronaldo.
GOOOOOOAL! IT'S 2-0 TO REAL MADRID! Arbeloa scoops a pass over the defence which Ronaldo spins onto. The Portuguese helps it across the box for Benzema, who dinks a finish over the onrushing keeper and in off the post! That should be enough for los Blancos.
71'
Lucas Silva enters the game and replaces Illarramendi.
Lucas Silva, signed from Cruzeiro in Brazil last month, comes on for his Real Madrid debut, replacing Illarra.
70'
Time is running out for Depor to get an equaliser, here. Borges has started hobbling in midifeld, though, which isn't a good sign for the visitors. Bergantinos opts to do the running for both of them, chasing Illarra back towards his own half before conceding a free kick.
68'
The Galicians are awarded a free kick on the near side so they pack bodies into the box. However, Cavaleiro decides to take it short, with a cross never coming in as Marcelo repels Helder Costa in the wide area.
66'
Marcelo ignites another Madrid attacking, racing in off the left flank and receiving the ball back inside the box. He manages to knock the ball past Manuel Pablo but can only stab a tame shot straight at Fabricio.
65'
Hélder Costa enters the game and replaces Oriol Riera.
The first change of the game is made, and it's for the visitors. Helder Costa comes on in place of Oriol Riera, who did what he could with the service received.
63'
Kroos launches an exquisite pass in behind the defence which Bale controls on his chest. However, the Welshman is unable to stop the ball from bouncing out of play after his initial touch.
62'
OVER THE TOP! The crowd wait in anticipation as Ronaldo stands over the ball, but his free kick is thumped far above the roof of the goal! That's a real disappointment.
61'
Manuel Pablo gets yellow.
The referee awards los Blancos a free kick in a central position, 20 yards from goal. It appears to be for a handball decision against Manuel Pablo, who talks himself into the book following the whistle.
60'
Isco makes a vital interception, plucking down Luisinho's cross from the left with Cavaleiro lurking at the back post! He's had an impressive evening so far.
59'
There are whistles for Ronaldo as he slows the play down out on the left, but they retain possession well inside the Galician side's half. Isco eventually fires a pass to the Portuguese, who fails in his attempt to flick it on to Benzema.
57'
The game is becoming quite stretched now, with Depor still attacking in numbers and Real Madrid eager to add to their tally and gain some breathing room. The next goal is going to be vital in this match.
55'
Bergantinos runs through the middle after Kroos is caught in possession, and, although he has options to either side, he shoots from 25 yards. His effort is delfected to the feet of Cuenca, who has a man over to his left in the form of Lucas Perez. His pass is poor, though, and the Madrid defence nip in to diffuse the attack.
54'
Real Madrid could do with slowing down the tempo now and playing a bit of keep-ball among their defenders. Depor are fighting for every ball and have looked dangerous in this second half.
52'
Depor are piling on the pressure! Cavaleiro's cross from the left falls to unmarked Lucas Perez at the back post, and he snatches a volley across goal. It ricochets off Lopo and flies over the top, and the centre-back was in an offside position.
51'
Fabricio is down and receiving treatment following a collision with Benzema inside the box. The keeper dove in at the Frenchman's feet to claim the ball off his toes, though the offside flag was raised just seconds later. After a bit of attention, the Depor custodian is back to his feet and restarts play with a free kick.
49'
BORGES HITS THE POST! Cavaleiro crosses from the byline and his delivery falls at the feet of the Costa Rican. He rifles a shot which cannons back off the upright, and Madrid fail to get it clear. Luisinho then whips another ball in, this time from the left, and Oriol Riera forces Casillas into a diving save with his header! So close to an equaliser for Depor!
48'
Nacho gets yellow.
Nacho is the first Real Madrid man to go into the book, with the referee showing him a yellow card for leading with his elbow when challenging Oriol Riera to an aerial ball inside the hosts' half.
46'
We are back underway!
45' +1
There is the half-time whistle!
45'
C. Borges gets yellow.
Borges shows his strength to hold off Kroos and head the ball on for Oriol Riera. The striker is hounded by the German midfielder, who he feels fouls him in the process. The referee allows play to continue and the former Bayern Munich man is hauled back by his Costa Rican counterpart as he looks to stride forward, resulting in a yellow card for Borges.
43'
Brilliant from Ronaldo! The Portuguese is set in behind by Benzema, but the ball runs wide so he has to take touch before shooting. He is closed down by Manuel Pablo but pulls off a sublime elastico to put the ball through the centre-back's legs. The cutback that follows it is blocked, though, resulting in a corner.
41'
Madrid attempt a quick break, with Bale leading the charge through the middle. He lays the ball off to Benzema who fails in his attempts to feed Ronaldo on the right side of the box. The Welshman stays down after a collision with Lopo, but Deportivo refuse to put the ball out of play and he quickly returns to his feet.
39'
A rather tame claim for a penalty from Ronaldo, who goes to ground after knocking the ball aside of Luisinho on the edge of the box. The referee clearly indicates he won't be awarding anything for that, so the Blancos forward is quickly back to his feet.
38'
Benzema closes down Lopo on the near side, just outside the box, getting a touch to the ball as the defender attempts to turn him. The pair grapple as they chase the subsequently loose ball, with the referee awarding the visitors the free kick despite both players having a chunk of the other's shirt.
36'
A Cruyff turn from Bale sees him spin away from Luisinho, and he follows it up by turning on the jets and flying to the byline. He stands up a cross for Ronaldo, but the Portuguese sends his header high of the target! Depor can't afford to concede another goal before the break.
34'
Kroos is first to a loose ball and he spreads it out to Marcelo on the left. The Brazilian then angles a fantastic cross towards the back post, which is brought down by Ronaldo. By taking a touch he allows Lopo the time to close him down, though, and he ends up lofting a deep cross far from any team-mates.
32'
This is a good spell from the Galician side, who have responded positively to going behind. Luisinho pushes forward on the left only to have his cross headed away by Varane. Still, the visitors quickly regain possession and attack their opponents once more.
30'
WIDE OF THE TARGET! The corner is headed wide by the hosts, and Depor manage to mount some pressure from the resultant goal kick. Again it is Cuenca looking to probe the Real Madrid defence, but this time his strike from just outside the box swerves miles from Casillas' net.
29'
Ronaldo is released down the right, with the space opening up after Luisinho dives in to try and intervene but misses the ball. He is stood up by Lopo as he looks to enter the box from the wing, but the hosts have a corner.
27'
Cavaleiro comes out to the right and attempts to get the better of Marcelo and whip a cross into the box. His delivery is easily dealt with by the hosts' defence, but Benzema cedes possession inside his own half after coming back to help out.
25'
Los Blancos are awarded a free kick just outside the box in a wide-left position. Ronaldo decides he will go for goal despite the acute angle, but he fires his attempt straight into the arms of Fabricio.
24'
Ancelotti will be delighted to see his side go ahead given the start that Depor have had to this game. Will their confidence crumble or can they maintain their impressive, aggressive opening?
22'
Isco has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Arbeloa.
GOOOOOOAAAL!! ISCO OPENS THE SCORING! Bale whips in a cross from the right with the outside of his boot, and Benzema sends it back across the face of goal with a delicate touch. Ronaldo somehow fails to add a simple finish from no more than two yards out, but Arbeloa manages to cut the ball back to Isco at the top of the box. The midfielder then takes a touch before bending a majestic shot inside the far post!
21'
A tremendous scooped pass from Isco is brought down by Bale inside the area, but he has to take another touch to get the ball out from underneath his feet. It means his cross for Ronaldo comes from a more acute angle and Fabricio is able to intervene and claim it.
20'
JUST WIDE! Again Marcelo opens up the play with a diagonal pass from the left, finding Bale in space. The Welshman rolls a square ball into the path of Benzema, whose first-time strike is defelcted off Manuel Pablo and rolls agonisingly wide of the far upright.
19'
OFF THE BAR! Real Madrid hit the frame of the goal for the second time this afternoon! The referee opts to play the advantage after Benzema is felled by Lopo, and Bale pounces on the loose ball. He lets fly from 20 yards and the slightest of touches from Fabricio turns the effort onto the woodwork, and his follow-up header rolls wide.
18'
Benzema comes out to the right, where he receives the ball in space from Ronaldo. He rolls a pass to the byline for the overlapping Arbeloa but the right-back is unable to get his cross in as he is matched stride for stride by Luisinho.
16'
It's been an electric opening to this game, with both sides looking dangerous when venturing forward. Depor have been fairly aggressive so far and look like a hugely different team following their two consecutive wins.
14'
Another chance for the hosts as Isco stands a cross up at the back post which Bale attacks. He is beaten to the ball by Luisinho, who nods the ball behind for a corner.
13'
OFF THE WOODWORK! Marcelo's driven cross-field pass picks out Bale on the far side of the box, and the Welshman takes a touch before laying it off to Ronaldo. The Portuguese then cracks a thunderous effort which comes back off the frame of the goal, and Benzema is unable to convert from the follow-up!
11'
Depor certainly aren't scared to get forward, and they are very direct and quick to get the ball into dangerous areas. Lucas Perez tries his luck with a shot from 25 yards which clips Varane and bobbles comfortably into Casillas' grasp.
10'
Marcelo strides forward down the left, sending a pass inside for Benzema and continuing his run into the box. The Frenchman offloads to Isco, who attempts to roll the ball back into the Brazilian's path. It's slightly overhit, though, and the left-back goes down claiming contact from Laure, though the referee sees nothing in it.
9'
Isco clips a pass forward for Arbeloa to chase, and the right-back lofts a cross into the box which Ronaldo sends over the top with an excellent overhead kick. However, the flag is up on the far side as the official signals that the former Liverpool man failed to keep the ball in play ahead of his delivery.
7'
JUST OVER! Cuenca is the danger man again, curling an en excellent effort from 20 yards the flies narrowly high of the target! Casillas was at full stretch there.
6'
CUENCA! Almost the opener for Depor! The former Barcelona man plays a one-two with Lucas Perez, and the latter's pass puts him in behind the defence close to the byline. He tries to sneak a shot inside the near post but Casillas reacts quickly to keep it out of the net!
5'
A header from Laure bounces kindly for Oriol Riera, and he is not closed down as it drops for a volley just outside the corner of the box. He lashes a volley towards the far side of the goal but fails to hit the target.
4'
Los Blancos are doing a good job of battling for the ball in midfield, regaining possession quickly after they lose out higher up the pitch.
2'
Bale plays a give-and-go out on the right and gets to the byline, from where he drills a cross into the box. It takes a touch off a Depor shirt and goes out for a corner, which is quickly cleared away by the visitors.

We are underway at the Bernabeu!
Hello and welcome to this afternoon's LIVE commentary as La Liga leaders Real Madrid host Deportivo La Coruna at the Santiago Bernabeu. With fellow title-challengers Barcelona not playing until tomorrow, los Blancos could open up a temporary four-point gap at the summit of the table. Their opponents tonight, though, have recently hit some form and will hope to be a difficult proposition for Carlo Ancelotti's side. My name is Tom Webber, and I will be guiding you through all the action.
Real Madrid suffered a humbling 4-0 defeat at city rivals Atletico Madrid last weekend which, combined with Barcelona’s 5-2 triumph at Athletic Club, leaves them with just a one-point lead at the top. Depor, meanwhile, come into the game off the back of two consecutive victories in La Liga, the first time they've achieved the feat since April 2013, with wins over Rayo Vallecano and Eibar easing their relegation worries. However, the reverse of this fixture earlier this season resulted in a resounding 8-2 victory for los Blancos, so their feelings may be mixed going into this match.
REAL MADRID TEAM NEWS: Marcelo returns form suspension and replaces the injured Fabio Coentrao at left-back, while Dani Carvajal drops to the bench with Alvaro Arebloa replacing him as Nacho and Raphael Varane continue their partnership in the heart of defence. Sami Khedira is also unavailable so Asier Illarramendi comes into the midfield trio, and, despite drawing criticism for celebrating his birthday after the defeat to Atleti, Cristiano Ronaldo stars in attack alongside Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.
DEPORTIVO TEAM NEWS: With Pablo Insua suspended and Sidnei out injured, Manuel Pablo starts in the centre of defence for the visitors. Juanfran is another player in the treatment room for Depor, and he is replaced by Laure at right-back. Helder Postiga remains sidelined so Oriol Riera, who joined on loan from Wigan Athletic last month, continues his run up top.
Real Madrid (4-3-3): Casillas; Arbeloa, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo; Kroos, Illarra, Isco; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.
Real Madrid substitutes: Navas, Carvajal, Derik, Lucas Silva, Medran, Jese, Chicharito.
Deportivo (4-2-3-1): Fabricio; Laure, Manuel Pablo, Lopo, Luisinho; Bergantinos, Borges; Cuenca, Lucas Perez, Cavaleiro; Oriol Riera.
Deportivo have conceded 14 goals in their last three visits to the Santiago Bernabeu, and they could be in store for another difficult match tonight as Real Madrid look to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Atleti. Los Blancos have been formidable at home recently, though, winning all of their last eight league games at home and scoring 30 goals in the process.
Furthermore, the Galician side have scored just six goals away from home so far this season. The tally is the joint-lowest in La Liga along with Real Sociedad.
We are just a couple of minutes away from kick off in Madrid, so be sure to stay tuned for all the action!
HALF TIME - Real Madrid 1-0 Deportivo: The visitors started brightly, with Cuenca causing a few problems for the Blancos defence, but it was Ancelotti's men who took the lead with Isco curling home a lovely shot for the opener. Ronaldo and Bale had already rattled the frame of the goal for the hosts, who are deserving of their lead. The Galician side have battled well, though, and cannot be ruled out while there's just one goal in it. Be sure to stay tuned for the second half!
The teams are heading back out onto the pitch, so the second half will begin momentarily.
FULL TIME - Real Madrid 2-0 Deportivo: It wasn't a wholly convincing performance from the hosts, but they worked hard to secure the win and restore their four-point advantage over Barcelona, temporarily at least. Isco's first-half strike put them on the route to victory, but it was not until 73rd minute that it was secured thanks to a clever finish from Benzema.
That is all from me, Tom Webber, for this evening. Thanks a lot for joining me!
