What a moment that is for Van Quyet! Yes, it is less than a mere consolation but he took that absolutely expertly. The likes of Dzeko and Sergio Aguero would have been proud of that one!
90' +1
Nguyễn Văn Quyết has scored a goal for Vietnam! Assist by Trần Chí Công.
VIETNAM SCORE!!! And what a lovely goal it is, too, from Nguyen Van Quyet who holds off Horsfield to latch onto Chi Cong's cross and delightfully lob the ball over Caballero.
90'
We are going to have three additional minutes at the end of this game.
88'
Nguyễn Công Phượng enters the game and replaces Lê Công Vinh.
CHANCE FOR VIETNAM! The ball breaks kindly for Quang Hai at a tight angle in the box and his shot flashes right across the face of goal, but Caballero watches it all the way.
87'
More lovely play from City in and around the edge of the Vietnam area. Lopes is eventually caught offside but he has made a big statement to Pellegrini this evening since coming on.
84'
There are plenty of positives to be taken from this game for City. Yes, they won't find it so easy in the Premier League but their spells of possession and link-up play has been brilliant to watch.
82'
Vietnam have another rare sight on goal as they get a free kick on the right hand side. There is a free header in the box but it is off target and never troubling Caballero.
80'
Well, it is clear that there is some exceptionally bright young talent coming through at City. The question is whether they will even get the opportunity to prove themselves in the first team or not this season.
78'
José Pozo has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by Rony Lopes.
POZO MAKES IT EIGHT!!! Lopes is the architecht again as he lays the ball off for his fellow sub, who takes it away from the defence and coolly chips the keeper.

61'
Trần Chí Công enters the game and replaces Nguyễn Xuân Thành.
As we enter the last half an hour of this game, it is more a case of how many City will win by. While Vietnam have had a go, they haven't threatened their opponents in front of goal at all.
59'
Vietnam are awarded a free kick right on the edge of the box and are in a good position, but they waste the opportunity by hitting it into the wall and City clear.
57'
The game has lost a little bit of sting over the last few minutes. City may have got the job done but they should continue to search for more goals to boost their morale.
54'
Sterling will have been slightly disappointed in not being given the chance to complete his hat-trick, nevertheless, he should have a few more opportunities before the end of the game.
51'

GARCIA GETTING CLOSER! The Spaniard keeps trying but has had no luck as of yet. He gets into another good position in the box and his effort is, once again, just wide of the post.
39'
The combination play between Sterling and Silva is already evident. It is very similar to the kind of link-up play that the Spaniard built up alongside James Milner before his free transfer to Liverpool this month.
37'
Silva finds some space and tries his luck from just outside the area with a powerful shot that is always rising as it flies over the crossbar.
35'
With the outcome of the game well beyond them, Vietnam have had somewhat of a surge over the last couple of minutes - embarking on powerful forward runs that have the home fans excited.
33'
Hart has to be alert to deny Van Quyet from a tight angle. A follow-up shot comes in from Cong Vinh seconds later that flashes across the face of goal.
32'
There have been a lot of question marks surrounding the fee paid for Sterling and the entire situation surrounding his Liverpool exit, but if he can produce this sort of performance on a weekly basis then he will endear himself to the City fans.
31'
R. Sterling has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by K. Ịheanachọ.

28'
CLOSE FROM GARCIA! Sterling finds Silva who pulls the ball back to the edge of the box, where the youngster takes a touch and fires just wide of the target.
27'
The original fears are quickly dashed as the winger is soon back on his feet and doesn't appear to be feeling any after-effects of the knock he took.
25'
STERLING IS DOWN! This is a worrying sign for City as their £49 million man goes down holding his back and looks to be in some distress. He is now receiving attention from the physio.
23'
The home fans are still in good voice despite the scoreline. They have just raised the roof on the stadium as their side attempt to launch a counter attack that is well dealt with by Hart.
21'

SILVA MAKES IT THREE!!! He meets Kolarov's cross with a powerful header that is brilliantly tipped onto the bar by the keeper, but he is quick to respond and dispatch the rebound. City are cruising.

R. Sterling has scored a goal for Manchester City!
DELICIOUS GOAL FROM STERLING!!! Silva shows quick feet to skip over a couple of challenges and the ball breaks to the new signing, who bends it beautifully right into the far corner.
17'
Granted they are not being particularly challenged, but City are looking very comfortable on the ball inside the opening 17 minutes here. Some of the fringe players will want to make a statement to their manager.
15'
GOOD RUN BY GARCIA! The Spaniard embarks on a dangerous burst into the Vietnam area, before his shot from a tight angle hits the side netting.
13'
Playing opportunities didn't fall as freely for Kolarov last season as they did when he joined the club back in 2010. He won't have done his chances any harm with that effort, though.
11'
A. Kolarov has scored a goal for Manchester City!
BEAUTIFULLY DONE BY KOLAROV!!! City take the lead and the Serbian shows his supreme accuracy with a dead ball once again, curling a free kick around the wall and into the corner past a flat-footed Vinh Lo'i.
10'
Nguyễn Xuân Thành gets yellow.
8'
Hart is wearing the captain's armband for City this evening, with both Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure absent for Pellegrini as his side's pre-season preparations draw to a close.
6'
GOOD SAVE BY VINH LO'I! Navas arrives in the area unmarked and looks to steer the ball home, but the Vietnam keeper is alert and reacts quickly to keep it out.
4'
Some nice link-up play between Sterling and Silva in the penalty area results in Ngoc Hai having to make an important interception to clear the danger.
3'
There is a very good atmosphere in the stadium here. The locals very excited to see their national team up against one of the world's richest teams.
1'

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to LIVE text commentary of Manchester City's friendly against Vietnam. I'm Jonathan Davies and I'll be guiding you through the action.
Manuel Pellegrini will be looking for City to bounce back following their heavy 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid at the weekend, and restore some confidence ahead of the new season.
Vietnam are without a win in three matches and will have their work cut out here at the My Dinh National Stadium. Captain and all-time leading scorer Le Cong Vinh will be hoping to cause City plenty of defensive problems.
The teams are coming out and kick off is just moments away!
VIETNAM: Vinh Lo'i, Xuan Thanh, D. Tien Thanh, Ngoc Hai, M. Tien Thanh, Thanh Lu'o'ng, Hoang Thinh, Huy Hung, Huy Toan, Cong Vinh, Van Quyet.
VIETNAM SUBS: Hong Quan, Cong Phu'o'ng, Quang Hai, Thanh Diep, Thanh Hien, Manh Hung, Chi Cong, Phi So'n, Duy Manh, Tien Dung.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Barker, Zuculini, Humphreys, Dzeko, Unal, Horsfield, Pozo, Lopes, Roberts, Wright, Caballero.

HALF TIME: VIETNAM 0-4 MANCHESTER CITY
So far, so good for Pellegrini and City. They are looking comfortable and enjoying some very nice spells of possession. More of the same is exactly what they'll be aiming for in the second half.
Vietnam were always going to be the underdogs for this game but the fans are still getting behind them every time they go forward. In all fairness, too, there wasn't much they could have done about any of the goals.
The teams are back out on the pitch and the second half is fast approaching.
FULL TIME: VIETNAM 1-8 MANCHESTER CITY
Apart from the late goal, a very convincing performance from City. Raheem Sterling, Aleksandar Kolarov and David Silva all got braces, while youngsters Marcos Lopes and Jose Pozo were also on target. Hats off to Vietnam, though, who kept going and enjoyed a wonderful consolation effort from Nguyen Van Quyet.
And that's it from Vietnam! Thank you for following the LIVE action - hope you've enjoyed it. I've been Jonathan Davies and until next time, have a very good afternoon!
