We're underway at Turf Moor.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Burnley and Arsenal at Turf Moor.
It's the 20th anniversary of the start of Arsene Wenger's tenure at Arsenal. The Frenchman has enjoyed a distinguished career at the club which should be celebrated despite under their underachievement in the second half of his reign.
Man City's looming defeat to Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon will open up the top of the Premier League, meaning that the Gunners can close the gap to two points with a victory today. There is a lot of incentive for Arsenal to close the gap and force their way into the title race. Who would have thought that after the first game of the season?
Burnley have been battling well in the Premier League thus far and notched their second win of the campaign in their 2-0 victory over Watford on Monday. The Clarets won't make life easier for Arsenal, having defeated Liverpool at Turf Moor earlier in the term. Only Arsenal's best will suffice against Sean Dyche's men.
UPDATE: Spurs have inflicted the first Premier League defeat of the Pep Guardiola era at City, which will allow Arsenal and the rest of the title chasers to close the gap. It also proves that the Citizens are not infallible after their excellent start.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
ARSENAL SUBS: Ospina, Gibbs, Gabriel, Holding, Reine-Adelaide, Elneny, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Burnley are unchanged from their 2-0 win over Watford on Monday. Due to Andre Gray's suspension Sam Vokes continues to lead the line, while Steven Defour and Jeff Hendrick will be aiming to add support from deep. Reports suggest that Michael Keane could earn a spot in the England squad, and a good display today will only strengthen that claim.
Arsenal make just one change from their comfortable win over Basel in the Champions League as Petr Cech returns between the sticks to replace David Ospina. Alexis Sanchez spearheads the attack, while Theo Walcott will aim to continue his impressive form playing behind the Chilean.
The players are out on the pitch so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: BURNLEY 0-0 ARSENAL
A competitive first half at Turf Moor as both sides have enjoyed good spells. Arguably the best chance of the game has fallen the way of Burnley as Sam Vokes headed wide from 12 yards, while Arsenal have seenn two efforts from Alexis Sanches and Theo Walcott slide narrowly wide. Arsene Wenger will want to see more from his team, but Sean Dyche will be pleased heading into the interval.
The players are back out for the second half.
FULL-TIME: BURNLEY 0-1 ARSENAL
What a win that could be for Arsenal. They struggled in the final third for the majority of the match, but the goal in the dying seconds to secure the three points. Arsene Wenger will be elated with his team, while Sean Dyche will be feeling sick as his side did enough to earn a share of the spoils.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
