Booking for Rodriguez after he takes out Lewandowski.
90' +1
THREE minutes of added time have been allocated by the referee so opportunities are certainly running out for Wolfsburg to claim an unlikely equaliser. They only have themselves to blame, though, as they waited far too long to show some attacking ambition.
89'
K. Coman enters the game and replaces A. Robben.
Another swap in quick succession from the former Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Milan boss as the talented Frenchman, Kingsley Coman, is given a short run out just to help Bayern run down the clock.
88'
A small break in play now as Javi Martinez takes a hit to the groin from a throw-in. Bayern get the foul for an unrelated altercation, but the Spaniard wastes a few vital seconds.
87'
Renato Sanches enters the game and replaces Douglas Costa.
The first change from Bayern finally comes as Renato Sanches comes on for Costa in which is definitely a pragmatic move for Ancelotti.
86'
ANOTHER VITAL STOP FROM NEUER! This time, the Bayern defence fail to clear effectively which allows Didavi to collect possession around 25 yards out. The blistering strike is subsequently aimed towards the left corner, but the goalkeeper comes to the rescue AGAIN for Ancelotti's men!
84'
There is definite nerves filtering down on to the pitch from the Allianz Arena faithful here and no wonder, they have dominated this match so much in every way possible apart from the actual scoreline. As Wolfsburg begin to give things a go finally, there is a real threat they could concede late on!
82'
FANTASTIC SAVE FROM NEUER! Just as Bayern look to wind down the clock, Malli manages to get in behind the backline to fire a bouncing volley towards goal, only to be thwarted by the towering German goalkeeper who makes the solid block! IT SHOULD BE 1-1!
80'
Things just haven't been too precise from Bayern in this match which has been one of their biggest problems. The majority of passes in and around the Wolfsburg penalty area have just lacked that bit of care required in order to unlock the opposition defence.
78'
Alaba moves into space on the left flank and then cleverly flicks the ball into space for the overlapping Costa, who subsequently teases a cross to the back post. Lewandowski gets on the end of this one to recycle the ball back into the danger area with a cushioned header, but it is cleared before Thiago can get strike away.

Description
76'
D. Didavi enters the game and replaces R. Bazoer.
Last throw of the dice from Ismael as he makes his third and final substitution. Leaving the action is Bazoer from his debut and his replacement will be Daniel Didavi, who will go straight up top to play alongside Mario Gomez. A positive change from the Wolfsburg boss.
75'
Fifteen minutes to go in this DFB-Pokal clash and Wolfsburg are running out of time to keep their German Cup participation alive. With the scoreline on a knife-edge, they really should be showing some more attacking ambition in the last period of play, something which has been absent from their display for the first 75 minutes.
73'
J. Kimmich enters the game and replaces Xabi Alonso.
As the first Bayern booking comes, we now see the first Bayern substitution. Talented central midfielder, Joshua Kimmich, will enter the action for the last 20 minutes or so, with Xabi Alonso making his way to the dugout.
72'
A. Robben gets yellow.
71'
First Bayern booking of the match now and it goes to Robben for going in slightly late on Gerhardt after the Wolfsburg winger cleared possession up the flank. There didn't look to be too much in the challenge at all, but the Dutchman is forced to see yellow.
69'
Robben stands over a corner down the right and steps up to curl a beautiful cross into the centre of the box. Hummels and Lewandowski both actually manage to get their head on it, but neither with enough purchase to turn an attempt on target, which sees Wolfsburg survive with the goal-kick.
67'
With Wolfsburg moving slightly higher up the pitch, Costa is awarded too much room on the left wing which allows him to brilliantly skip beyond Vieirinha and make his way into a more central area. He goes to just slip a pass in behind the backline for the onrushing Lewandowski, but it is intercepted.
65'
Bayern's recent struggles in 2017 are not exactly absent from proceedings here tonight. They have struggled to create chances recently and the same can be said for this fixture, and as a result, incredibly, Wolfsburg are still in with a shout even though they have been dominated in just about every department.
63'
After Rodriguez's previous disappointment, Malli is tasked with the next Wolfsburg set-piece. This delivery from the substittute is much better and is whipped in ominously into the danger area, but Neuer commandingly comes off his line to clear with a powerful punch to send possession way away from danger.
61'
M. Gómez enters the game and replaces P. Ntep.
Second alteration of the match from Ismael, and it is an attacking one. Leaving the pitch is Ntep and he will be replaced by former Bayern Munich striker, Mario Gomez, who enjoyed a trophy-laiden period in his time at the Allianz.
59'
Speaking of Lewandowski, the Pole is looking increasingly frustrated at the lack of quality deliveries being sent into the box. On this occasion he slaps the side of his thighs with a grimace as Alaba's low cross to the front post is easily intercepted by Knoche before it can reach the centre-forward.
57'
Luiz Gustavo gets yellow.
First booking of the match now comes to Wolfsburg as Gustavo finally makes one foul too many on Lewandowski.
56'
SAVE FROM CASTEELS! Bayern are turning up the tempo a bit now, with the play once again being channeled through Costa. The former Shakhtar winger bursts to the byline and opts to go for goal himself from the tight angle, only for the Wolfsburg goalkeeper to make the stop with his feet. Perhaps a reversed pass back inside would have been the better choice?
54'
WHAT A MISS FROM THIAGO! The ball into the box from Costa is MUCH better this time as the cross flies to the edge of the six-yard box. The former Barcelona man meets it with authority, but Wolfsburg survive as his headed attempt goes at least a yard over the bar. If that was on target it would have been a goal!
52'
After Alaba goes in with a high boot on Vieirinha, Wolfsburg get the free-kick down the right-hand side. However, even the usually reliable Rodriguez sums up the performance of the visitors so far as his attempted cross into the box goes high and wide behind for the goal-kick. Pretty awful.
50'
Die Bayern have actually been relatively guilty of overhitting quite a majority of their crosses into the area. The worst perpetrators have been Costa, Alaba, and Lahm on this occasion, and the lack of service is meaning Lewandowski can't get into the game either.
48'
Positive start to the second period from Bayern, who have already won a couple of free-kicks in decent areas. However, both are wasted as the first going behind via a Hummels header and the second is popped behind for a goal-kick after a wayward cross from Thiago.
46'
Y. Mallı enters the game and replaces Borja Mayoral.
We are back under way in Munich.
A change to report at the break from Wolfsburg. The disappointing Borja Mayoral makes way for Yunus Malli.
43'
Gerhardt is easily robbed of possession by Robben on the right wing and the Dutchman takes advantage of the space to drive towards the byline. Wolfsburg recover well, though, as he is forced to play back inside, with the move eventually coming to nothing after Alaba sends a cross wayward.
41'
Costa hugs the left touchline and exchanges a couple of neat passes with Alaba before moving back inside. The Brazilian, instead of taking on the defender, plays into a more central area for Alonso as Bayern look to sustain possession just outside the Wolfsburg penalty area. The hosts probe for the second.
39'
The game is playing out like an exhibition match at the moment with Bayern more or less treating possession like a training exercise. They are making Wolfsburg work so hard to see fleeting moments of the ball, and even when those come they amount to very little.
37'
Wolfsburg are awarded a small bit of respite after Vidal concedes the cheap foul. However, Ismael is raging in the dugout as he witnesses Vieirinha criminally giving the ball away in an attempted pass to Ntep after receiving possession on the touchline from Knoche. Really, really poor.
35'
Ten minutes to go in the first half and Bayern are looking pretty comfortable within necessarily lighting up the Allianz with their attacking play. They have been below par since the turn of the year, so the home fans will be wanting to celebrate more than just the one early goal, especially with Wolfsburg lacking confidence.
33'
Bayern have just dropped off the pace ever-so-slightly within the past couple of minutes which has invited Wolfsburg to be better in possession. Ntep actually takes advantage of some poor possession by the home side to burst through the middle with the opposition defence on the ropes, but the resulting pass to Borja is intercepted by the retreating Alonso.
31'
Lewandowski has very much enjoyed playing against Wolfsburg over the years at has took them for quite a few goals, including two in December. However, the former Dortmund man doesn't quite look himself so far, especially after taking that knock from Gustavo. The Brazilian marshaling the Bayern centre-forward well at the moment.
29'
Wolfsburg really have been pretty awful when in possession so far. A relatively promising move down the right wing is broken down by Knoche, who fires a lobbed pass into space down the channel without a team-mate being within 20 yards of it.
27'
Poor Vieirinha. Not only does he have to deal with Costa bombing at him at every opportunity, but Alaba is now beginning to get in on the act with overlapping runs from left-back. Quite the task for a player whose qualities definitely lie going forward rather than in defending!
25'
Bazoer, who is making his debut for the visitors tonight, puts his new side into trouble with an awful clearance which falls straight to the feet of Hummels inside the area. The Wolfsburg new-boy does redeem himself slightly, though, as he blocks the subsequent shot from the German defender behind for the corner.
23'
We are just beyond the midway point of the first half now and thanks to that opener from Costa, Bayern are looking massively in control here. They were already dominating possession, but with the lead in place they can now try and put the game to bed as quickly as possible.
21'
Costa is causing all kinds of problems for Wolfsburg, and Vieirinha in particular at the moment. The Brazilian opens up his stride with such tremendous speed every time he receives the ball to feet on the left flank, but on this occasion it is his final delivery which lets him down, leaving Robben and Lewandowski frustrated.
19'
With the attacking talent out there for Bayern, an extremely fortunate deflection was probably not the way you would have predicted them taking the lead. However, you can't win the raffle without buying a ticket, so the plaudits go to Costa for going for the long-range attempt.
18'
Douglas Costa has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by Thiago Alcântara.
17'
GOOOOAAAAAALLLL FOR BAYERN! The hosts take the lead, and in fortuitous fashion! Costa comes into a more central position from his usual place at left wing and goes to try his luck with a 25-yard strike. It takes a massive deflection off Gustavo on the route through which leaves Casteels stranded. One-nil! Unlucky Wolfsburg...
Neat assist from Thiago for the opener.
15'
Ntep is working really had up top at the moment but is struggling to make it across all four of the Bayern defenders to press high up the pitch. Certainly a thankless task, especially when Hummels leaves you for dead after a cracking bit of skill.
13'
Bayern dominated proceedings early on but Wolfsburg can take slight confidence from their play in the past couple of minutes. However, Robben in particular is desperate for room down the right-hand side so the visitors can't be flooding too many men forward with the score still at 0-0.
11'
A bit more promising now from Wolfsburg as Rodriguez takes a quick free-kick to Ntep who bursts down the left wing before earning a corner out of Lahm. The Switzerland defender takes the subsequent set-piece, but the delivery on this occasion is disappointing as Hummels clears with the header.
9'
From looking at the line-ups it is clear that Ismael is perhaps prioritising the league of the German Cup as he has made quite a few changes, with the likes of Benaglio and Mario Gomez only featuring on the bench. You can't blame the Wolfsburg boss as they do need to climb up the table quickly.
7'
Costa is becoming increasingly prominent on this left wing and basically every time Alonso gains the ball in midfield he is looking to pop a diagonal out to the speedy Brazilian. On this occasion, he gets the better of his marker before firing a cross bouncing into the box, but Casteels does really well to come off his line and claim.
5'
As probably expected, the opening stages have been met with plenty of passing and moving from Bayern in midfield. The possession is actually at quite a high tempo, though, so perhaps Ancelotti had advised his charges to get the fans up and cheering quickly after the disappointing 1-1 draw against Schalke at the weekend.
3'
A small break in play early on here as Lewandowski goes down clutching his knee after being caught in a late tackle by Gustavo down the left wing. The Poland international receives some treatment for the knock, but it looks like he should be okay to continue. He scored two goals against Wolfsburg in December.

We are under way at the Allianz Arena!
Good evening football fans! Welcome to LIVE coverage of the DFB-Pokal Round of 16 encounter between Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg from the Allianz Arena.
Wolfsburg, meanwhile, have endured a pretty shocking season and have won just five matches in the Bundesliga so far, with their form seeing them just four points clear of the relegation zone. Dieter Hecking lost his job in October for the team's performances, and things do not look to have greatly improved under new boss, Valerien Ismael. The Cup will have been a pleasant distraction, but now they have to get a result at the Allianz.
Bayern made it to the last-16 of the competition thanks to relatively comfortable victories over FC Carl Zeiss Jena in August and FC Augsburg at the end of October. With only three months or so left of the football season in Germany, we are certainly at the business-end of the DFB-Pokal now, with the quarter-finals coming up next.
Under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti, things have not gone necessarily swimmingly for Bayern in the Bundesliga as for the first time in a long time neutrals seem primed to actually be entertained by a tight title race. The astonishing emergence of RB Leipzig in the German top-flight has meant that Die Bayern may just have to battle longer for the league trophy this campaign, but tonight they must turn their attentions to the German Cup.
The last time Wolfsburg travelled to face Bayern it was not a particularly happy trip. In December, the teams faced each other in the Bundesliga and Ancelotti's men ran out comprehensive 5-0 winners, with goals from Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa, Thomas Muller and a double from Robert Lewandowski sealing the win.
Half-time at the Allianz. Bayern are on course to reach the quarter-finals of the DFB-Pokal as they head into the break with a 1-0 lead over Wolfsburg. The sheer domination of the hosts should have generated more goals, but the solitary scorer at the moment remains Douglas Costa with a deflected strike from 25 yards. Second period to come.
Full-time at the Allianz Arena. It has not been a vintage performance from Bayern, but they progress in the DFB-Pokal all the same thank to a very narrow 1-0 win over Wolfsburg at home, with Douglas Costa grabbing the solitary strike early on. Thanks for joining us, see you next time!
