A spell of Brighton pressure comes to nothing as Duffy is unable to direct his header either goalward or to a teammate. United back in possession with a minute to play.
90' +2
Time is running out for Brighton. They have just over three minutes of injury time left to find an equaliser.
90' +1
The fourth official has indicatead five minutes of additional time.
90'
Excellent workrate from Lukaku. He loses the ball high up the pitch but chases Bruno all the way back towards the United penalty area before putting in a sliding challenge and put the ball out for a throw.
89'
Great interchange between Ibrahimovic and Pogba. The Swedish forward plays a quick one-two on the edge of the box with Pogba before firing a low shot first time, which flies just narrowly wide of the left post.
88'
I. Brown enters the game and replaces P. Groß.
Pascal Gross's afternoon is up after an impressive performance. Isaiah Brown replaces him.
87'
S. Duffy gets yellow.
Shane Duffy goes into the referees book for a late challenge on Ibrahimovic.
86'
Gross's delivery has plenty of whip and pace. Duffy rises highest to meet it but he is unable to get enough contact on the ball to direct it goalwards.
85'
Another opportunity for Brighton on the set-piece. Gross is over it...
83'
United are no longer risking sending too many men forward now as Brighton push for an equaliser. It looks like Mourinho's side are happy to hold onto their slender lead and play on the counter-attack.
Minute
Description
82'
The corner flies high towards the back post from the left. Smalling rises highest to get his head to it but he cannot get his header on the target, with the ball bouncing to the ground before rising over the crossbar.
81'
Ibrahimovic wins United a corner. He stands the ball up on the edge of the box and attempts to curl the ball towards the top left corner but it is blocked by Shane Duffy.
80'
M. Fellaini enters the game and replaces M. Rashford.
Marcus Rashford is off, seemingly with injury after another lively performance. Marouane Fellaini will play the final 10 minutes in his place.
78'
Another dangerous cross across the face of goal, this time by Bruno. All it requires is a toe to direct it goalwowards but there is no Brighton player to meet it, which has often been the case for many of Brighton's attacks this afternoon.
77'
Valencia shows his pace and strength on the right wing to muscle off Izquierdo and get a cross away. It is blocked at the first man though. The home side appeal for a handball but the referee is having none of it.
75'
J. Izquierdo enters the game and replaces S. March.
Solomon March is replaced by José Izquierdo.
74'
T. Hemed enters the game and replaces G. Murray.
Glenn Murray is replaced by Tomer Hemed.
73'
Gross tries to fire another low cross towards the edge of the six yard box but it is well cleared by United. Ibrahimovic then tries to start a counter for the home side but his chipped pass towards the right wing for Mkhitaryan has a little too much on it and it is out of play.
71'
H. Mkhitaryan enters the game and replaces A. Martial.
Anthony Martial makes way to be replaced by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who returns to the side after being dropped for the last two games against Newcastle and Basel.
68'
Young again the creative drive for United as he crosses in towards Lukaku on the edge of the six yard box. He is under pressure from his marker and can only head over the crossbar.
66'
L. Dunk is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOAL! A corner from the right is cleared at the near post but it can only fall as far as Ashley Young. He turns his marker and curls an effort on goal, which takes a wicked deflection off Lewis Dunk and dips into the top right corner. Very, very unfortunate for Brighton but United won't care. They have their lead.
65'
United have seen almost 70% of the ball this second half so far but they have still yet to create any real clear cut chances with it. Brighton continue to hold firm so far but United do have a habit of scoring late goals this season.
62'
Z. Ibrahimović enters the game and replaces Mata.
Juan Mata is off to be replaced by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Mourinho's first change of the afternoon. The Spaniard hasn't had much impact on the game this afternoon.
61'
Brighton are starting to look a little bit disjointed as they try to come forward when winning the ball in midfield. United are starting to gain a measure of control in the midfield area now.
59'
G. Murray gets yellow.
Glenn Murray is booked for dissent after complaining about the ball not being put out when Knockaert got injured.
57'
A slight delay as Knockaert receives a treatment after a challenge from Lindelof. He's limping off but looks ok to come back on.
55'
The break looks on for United but Brighton are back quickly to snuff out the space, with Valencia's cross from the right being blocked away at the first man. Knockaert is down injured.
53'
Young finds space for a shot on the edge of the box but it curls away from goal and wide of the left-hand post.
50'
Good work from Lukaku on the edge of the Brighton box. He improvises a flick for the run of Rashford in the box but it is cut out at the last second by Lewis Dunk.
49'
United come forward and are once again up against a sea of yellow shirts. They do finally find a way behind through Rashford but his pullback for Lukaku is again cleared away.
47'
Excellent skill from Gross to turn Smalling on the edge of the United box. He fizzes the ball across the penalty box but there is no Brighton shirt to get on the end of it.
46'
Brighton get us back underway.
45' +1
The fourth official has indicated one minute of additional time.
45'
Unbelievable! The initial corner is cleared but Rashford swings it back in towards the far post. Lukaku heads it down but Ryan does brilliantly to save. Pogba tries to toe-poke it into the back of the net from barely two yards out but Ryan somehow keeps it out again. Great work from the Brighton keeper.
44'
United with their second of the corner after Rashford's pacy cross from the right wing is cleared away.
42'
Great work from Young but the cross is once again cleared away after the left-back managed to wriggle his way between both Knockaert and Gross on the left of the box.
40'
Five minutes left to play of this first-half and Mourinho will surely be the more frustrated of the two managers going in at the break. Brighton have dealt with the threat and pace of the home side in excellent fashion and have looked the better of the sides in attack as well.
39'
Close! a Brighton free-kick is swung in from the left wing. It is flicked on at the edge of the box by Murray and Bruno is very close to getting his head to it. It is just out of reach though.
35'
Better from United. Valencia uses his pace to beat March and swing in a cross towards the back post. Lukaku gets his head to it once again but this time he can only head it wide.
33'
A let off for United. The ball is played up towards Murray who is adjudged by the referee to have shoved Young as he won the ball. If he had got that cleanly Brighton were in a three-v-one situation.
31'
Brighton break again through Knockaert, who has been brilliant so far. The winger turns inside but cannot find space to shoot. He opts to slide a pass through for Davy Propper to chase but it is shepherded out of play by Smalling.
30'
Knockaert holds off Young well on the left of the Brighton box and earns himself a free-kick for his troubles. United struggling to break down this very well organised Chris Hughton side so far.
28'
It is swung in with plenty of pace but it can only find the head of a Brighton player and it is well cleared away.
27'
United with a free-kick of their own, parrallel to the position Brighton just had theirs. Rashford is over it...
26'
Gross steps away from the ball at the last minute and Knockaert swings it in towards the back post. Lukaku is there to clear and the break is on for Rashford down the right wing. Brighton, once again, are quickly back in numbers to prevent the counter.
25'
Smalling brings down Murray on the right of the United box. Gross with another opportunity to test the home sides defence from a set piece.
23'
Mata with a good cross from the left wing. Lukaku gets his head to it but his shot lack any real power to trouble Ryan in the Brighton goal. Smalling was lurking behind the striker who was in a better position, unmarked, to score.
21'
When these United players do manage to link up in attack they look dangerous. The problem is getting beyond the two lines of yellow preventing them from doing that. Brighton on top in these opening exchanges and arguably should have the lead with the chances they have had.
19'
Gaetan Bong earns his side a free-kick on the halfway line as he tries to wriggle away from Valencia.
17'
Brighton moving the ball around patiently and with confidence at the moment. Knockaert does well on the right wing to retain possession despite slipping, playing it back for Glenn Murray to cross. It is too close to the goalkeeper though and de Gea catches comfortably.
15'
Young shows a nice a bit of skill to turn his defender on the left wing but his cross is headed away at the near post. Better from United.
14'
Pogba with a hopeful shot from nearly 40 yards out but it is never troubling Mat Ryan. United looking frustrated at the moment as Brighton have started brightly.
11'
Brighton creating another chance but de Gea dives low to save Gross's shot from the right of the box.
9'
Gross with a free-kick on the left of the United box. Good delivery, swinging in dangerously towards the back post. Matic is on hand to powerfully head it clear though. United try to counter through Rashford but Brighton fly back in numbers to quickly quell the danger.
7'
Brighton give the ball away in a dangerous area on the right wing to Valencia. He pulls it back for Pogba who's low cross towards the penalty area is cut out by Bruno.
6'
Brighton starting the better of the two sides so far. They are working hard off the ball as well as on it, closing down the home side very quickly and in numbers.
4'
Chance! close as well. Pascal Gross links up well with Anthony Knockaert, sliding in a brilliant pass behind the United defence for Knockaert. He's in on goal but opts to pass across the face of goal instead of shooting and it is straight out of play for a goal kick.
3'
United with an attack of their own and Romelu Lukaku arguably should have done much better. He links up well with Paul Pogba before turning the defender on the edge of the box to open up space for the shot. It is wild and high over the bar from the Belgian.
2'
Brighton showing their attacking intent early on, whipping in a pacy cross from the right wing. A little too much on it though. They get a second attempt from the other side but it is straight out over the crossbar.

Manchester United get us underway! kicking left to right.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Premier League game between Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.
Manchester United were boosted by the return of Paul Pogba last weekend, who was influential as they came from a goal down to beat Newcastle United 4-1. Jose Mourinho’s side have still found ways to win games without their star midfielder but they have lacked a creative influence without him or Michael Carrick in the side and will be happy to have the Frenchman back at their disposal.
The Red Devils are unbeaten at home in 38 games across all competitions, winning 27 and drawing 11 of those fixtures. They last tasted defeat at home to Manchester City in September 2016 and they will be many peoples favourites to continue that run this afternoon. Mourinho will be without injured defenders Phil Jones and Eric Bailly and midfielder Michael Carrick, although Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahomivic may feature, with the former returning from a long-term knee injury against Basel in the midweek.
Brighton have made an impressive start to their Premier League campaign under Chris Hughton, picking up 16 points in their opening 12 games to sit ninth in the table. The Seagulls put in a brilliant battling display to come twice from behind to snatch a point against Stoke City last weekend and they will need to find that fighting spirit once again if they are to take anything from Old Trafford.
Today’s game marks the first top-flight meeting between these two since March 1983, when Brighton drew 1-1 at Old Trafford. They have won only once in 16 games against United, with that sole victory coming in November 1982. Chris Hughton has no fresh injury concerns ahead of today’s trip to Manchester. Midfielder Beram Kayal has returned to the squad after being out with a broken leg but it is unlikely he will be risked for today’s game.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Manchester United XI (4-2-3-1): de Gea; Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Young; Pogba, Matic; Rashford, Mata, Martial; Lukaku.
Manchester United Substitutes: Ibrahimovic, McTominay, Fellaini, Romero, Mkhitaryan, Rojo, Herrera.
Jose Mourinho makes seven changes from the side that were beaten 1-0 by Basel in their midweek Champion’s League group game. Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata line up in attack, while Nemanja Matic replaces Marouane Fellaini in the holding midfield role. Antonio Valencia, Victor Lindelof and Ashley Young will line up with Chris Smalling in defence and David de Gea returns to the side in goal, replacing Sergio Romero.
Chris Hughton makes only one change from the Brighton side that drew 2-2 with Stoke City last weekend. Solly March comes into the side, replacing Jose Izquierdo on the left of the midfield.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION.
Chris Hughton will be very happy with his side after that impressive display both defensively and offensively in the first half. Brighton had two good chances in the opening 20 minutes to take the lead, with Gross's shot being saved by de Gea and Knockaert deciding to pass rather than shoot when through on goal. United regained a measure of control as the game wore on but could not find that elusive final pass to create the chance on goal. They came very close in the dying minutes but Ryan did brilliantly to save first from Lukaku and then Pogba. All square at the break.
The players are back out on the pitch, ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION.
Manchester United find a way to continue their impressive home record after Lewis Dunk's own goal after he deflected Ashley Young's shot deciding the game. Brighton had the better of the first half and missed a few through Gross and Knockaert to take the lead. United started to take control of the game in the second half without really threatening the Brighton defenders, who held on admirably. There will be suggestions that the corner leading to the decisive goal should have been a goal kick, or that Lukaku comitted a foul in the box shortly before Young's strike, but Mourinho's side ground out the win that keeps them in touch with leaders Manchester City and that will be all that matters to the Old Trafford faithful.
