Davies skirts down the right wing, looking to put one last cross in for Kane, but the referee blows before he can deliver.
90' +2
It's been a valiant display in defence by Brighton tonight who, for the most part, withstood an occasionally frantic if not particularly dangerous Spurs attack. The first goal they conceded was an absolute freak of nature; the second the result of a tired lapse in the closing minutes. Plenty for Chris Hughton to take away.
90'
B. Davies enters the game and replaces Son Heung-Min.
Indeed, Son is repalced by Ben Davies as the final change of the night. Three added minutes incoming.
89'

87'
Son Heung-Min has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by C. Eriksen.
Assist Christian Dannemann Eriksen
That's the game! Though they may have been stuck in third gear for much of the night, Spurs get a second through Son as he drifts beyond Propper to connect with Eriksen's square free-kick off the right flank and guide it in at the close post behind Ryan. 2-0 to Spurs to cap off an uninspiring night for the hosts.
85'
Off the woodwork! It's a rocket of a shot that slips through the hands of Ryan yet the keeper's minute touch is enough to push it onto the right-hand post and away to safety via Gross.
84'
Eriksen steers it in and Murray looks to whisk it away; before he clashes with Dier and the latter tumbles to the ground from his impromptu bodycheck. Free-kick, 22 yards out in front. Kane to take...
82'
Rose lets fly with his weaker right foot after opting not to cross within the box and it takes a deflection out for a corner.
80'
Dier feeds Son on the right wing, who blasts a solid cross in for Kane; the England man comes up shy by a second and Ryan claims in front of him.
78'
P. Groß enters the game and replaces B. Kayal.
Pascal Gross is the latest change, coming on for Kayal at Wembley.

G. Murray enters the game and replaces T. Hemed.
Hemed is now off for the Seagulls and Glenn Murray takes his place.
71'
March plays a ball in from the left wing, and Dier deflects it away from danger and back into open play, just before Hemed is pinged for a foul on the right flank in the opposition half.
69'
Hemed! Spurs fail to clear their box and the Brighton striker catches the loose ball with a snap shot that ricochets off Lloris and forces the keeper to have a secon attempt to defuse the danger.
67'
M. Dembélé enters the game and replaces H. Winks.
A change for Spurs now; Winks is off and Dembele takes his place.
66'
Now Winks looks to chance his arm, flicking a ball on from the wing to Rose who plays back in around Schelotto. His shot is skewed though; goal kick to Brighton.
64'
A poor finish from the corner by Brighton, with Hemed unable to collect the cross - and then down the other end, Son pushes a shot just wide on the left by inches from the edge of the box.
63'
It's a poor corner that blows out wide to the Brighton left flank to March, who tears off on a length-of-the-pitch run and eventually sees his attempted cross squeezed out for a corner by Aurier.
62'
S. March enters the game and replaces J. Izquierdo.

53'
Albion hold off a poor finish from Winks, only for Rose to earn another corner moments latter off Schelotto.
52'
Tottenham press forward again, with Lamela this time the man to push the ball against the woodwork, taking a deflection off Duffy on the way there. Corner to Spurs.

48'
Hemed blasts down the right wing after a long ball from Kayal and nearly pulls it back across to launch a shot; Lloris beats him however, and sweeps it away down the opposite flank.
46'
Back underway at Wembley. Brighton are currently four and a half games with just a goal to their name - a Murray penalty against Liverpool.
45' +2
After a moment for treatment, the game restarts with a long kick from Lloris downfield - and no sooner has it taken a header off Eriksen, the referee blows for half-time.
45'
D. Rose gets yellow.
Winks and then Schelotto both go down in different circumstances as the ball is shifted around the park at speed. Rose gets a booking for his effort on the latter; a violent, fast slide. One added minute incoming.
43'
Free kick now for Spurs, 30 yards out on the left wing. Eriksen twists it in and Duffy sees it off before it can cause too much damage at the back.
41'
A. Knockaert gets yellow.
What a weird goal that was. Knockaert is booked for the barge - and the fact of the matter is that had he not lent on Aurier in the tackle, the cross would likely have landed in the box rather than the net.
40'
S. Aurier has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by H. Winks.
Assist Harry Winks
Tottenham take the lead at Wembley in the strangest of circumstances. Aurier turns Knockaert around out on the wing after a Winks cross and the right back is fouled as he puts a cross into the box for Kane The flag goes up from the linesman - and Ryan lapses for a second, not following the ball as it doesn't follow the intended curve and instead slips in at the top far-left corner. What a fluke of a goal for Spurs.

34'
Bong tries to power Brighton downfield through a long throw, yet Sissoko muscles in on the play, swinging it long via Eriksen to Rose who puts a shot straight to Ryan from the left of the box.
32'
Eriksen, Son and Rose all combine in the box, with some nifty footwork around the Brighton back-four - only for Kayal to come up trumps as they try to feed Kane for the shot.
30'
Lamela almost gets the goal to break the deadlock, pushing it over the crossbar from just inside the box after pinching the ball from teammate Kane. The striker is less than impressed with the effort.
28'
Aurier cuts off a Izquierdo back-heel aimed at Hemed on the left wing and Spurs cut off the rumblings of a Brighton attack.
26'
Rose filches a ball off Schelotto in the back corner again; his touch is too cumbersome however and the ball slips away and out for a goal kick.

21'
A second corner now after Kane sees two attempts from the flat cross in tipped away and then out by Ryan.
20'
Vertonghen blows a long, looping pass out wide to the right for Aurier, who reads it nicely and forces Ryan to push his tight shot from the edge of the box out. Corner.
19'
Slow across the park at the moment from Spurs. The crowd are getting a touch restless with their inactivity; an eye on Manchester City on Saturday perhaps?
17'
A long ball is pushed through by Propper, looking for Hemed, but too much weight sees it outstrip the striker and land at the feet of Lloris.
15'

14'
Free kick for the Seagulls deep in their own half after Eriksen misjudges a tap-tackle on Duffy.

10'
Eriksen floats it in and the ball beats Kane to go straight to Ryan the keeper.
9'
Free kick to Spurs just out on the right edge now, 25 yards from goal after Lamela is fouled by Bong.
8'
Brighton have set up their formation in the same way they have all season and that early move shows they can trouble Spurs round the back. It's still a big ask but they can more than hold their own here.
6'
Back down the other end, Lamela goes for goal as Son trips and falls. Cries for a penalty are waved off and Duffy gets the ball out of danger with a free-kick a moment later.
5'
Swift move off a Seagulls break that allows the visitors to cut downfield via Knockaert and Propper, with the last touch from Izquierdo nipping over the crossbar from a poorly executed chip.
4'
It's a poor inswinger of an effort, yet Brighton can only get it as far away as their own 35 yard mark in their half before being pinned back.
3'
Schelotto is bullied out of possession by Son in Brighton's back right corner and he cuts back inside to launch a shot that deflects out for a corner.
2'
Knockaert clips a pass down the right wing looking for Hemed; Rose instead finds it and begins a counter for Spurs.
1'
Kane taps to Winks and we are underway at Wembley!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2017-18 Premier League as Tottenham Hotspur host Brighton and Hove Albion for the first time outside of cup matches since 34 years. Spurs have prevailed twice since, 2-1 in the 04-05 FA Cup and 2-0 in the 14-15 League Cup – but can the Seagulls pick up their second ever away win against Mauricio Pochettino’s men? Kick-off is just around the corner.
It’s been a tough run of form for the visitors recently, with just one point in the last four games. They have also registered the least amount of shots in the Premier League this season, with only 135 to their name. Against a Tottenham side perched in the upper echelons of the table, Chris Hughton has his work cut out if he wishes to make his side’s visit a success this evening.
Brighton have failed to win on their three previous trips to Wembley Stadium – losing the FA Cup final to Manchester United 4-0 in a replay after a 2-2 draw, and losing the 1991 second tier play-off final 3-1 against Notts County. They did however win the last league meeting between the two, prevailing 2-1 in a home match in April 1983.
Harry Kane is once again enjoying a vintage year, with 50 goals scored in 2017 for Tottenham and England, an average of one every 81 minutes. His league tally stands at 33 in 32 appearances; only three shy of equalling the record set by Alan Shearer in 1995. If he scores at Wembley, it will be the 26th team he has netted against of 27 played; the only side he has got a goal against is Cardiff City.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (4-5-1): Lloris, Vertonghen, Aurier, Dier, Rose, Sissoko, Lamela, Eriksen, Son, Winks, Kane
Team news in now as we await kick-off at Wembley...
Subs: Dembele, Vorm, Trippier, Alli, Davies, Llorente, Foyth
Subs: Gross, Krul, Goldson, Bruno, Murray, Brown, March
You have to feel for Brighton there; they've had a rather sterling first half in defence if not attack, yet trail at Wembley after a freak of a Aurier goal intended as a cross. Spurs will be happy to have the breakthrough; Chris Hughton now has to inspire his men to fight back for a point at least. Half time, it's Tottenham Hotspure 1-0 Brighton and Hove Albion.
Tottenham record back to back wins against teams from the lower half of the table, in relatively uninspiring fashion against a spirited Brighton showing that just couldn't click seriously in attack. It feels an apt result to summarise the form-book for the Seagulls; their hunt for a win goes on, with one point from the last five games now. As for Spurs, it gives them another three points - and helps them keep up the chase for European places as Christmas approaches. Full-time at Wembley, it finishes Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Brighton and Hove Albion.
It doesn't get easier for either side now though; after this evening's midweek matches, Albion must prepare to tangle with high-flying Burnley, the surprise package of the season, whilst Spurs face Manchester City, fresh on the back of securing a new record of 15 consecutive top flight victories against Swansea earlier today. Can either of them produce an upset and walk away with an early Christmas present? Until then, thank you and have a good week!
