Wanyama tries his luck from range, but only draws jeers from the home crowd as he thumps his effort straight into the stands.
90' +1
There will be a minimum of five minutes stoppage time.
90'
That’s a great block by Hoedt, who just manages to hook clear Lamela’s header before it reaches Alli. Tottenham work it back into the area though, with Kane in acres of space at the back post but, this time, he can only drag his strike wide.
89'
CHANCE! Again, Tadic finds space in behind Tottenham’s defence and, again, he picks out the right pass - this time finding Boufal. The playmaker takes a good first touch to set himself, but hesitates too long before unleashing his shot, which is blocked before it can test Vorm.
87'
WHAT A CHANCE! That was the opportunity for Obafemi, who gets on the end of Tadic’s cross, but can’t direct his first-time effort on target from six yards out.
85'
V. Wanyama enters the game and replaces M. Dembélé.
A third and final change now for Tottenham. Mousa Dembele goes off to a chorus of boos from the home faithful, who then turn their attention to former Saint Victory Wanyama, who replaces the Belgian.
84'
How did that not go in!? A goal-mouth scramble results in Sissoko feeding Lamela three yards out, but a great challenge from Stephens forces the ball wide. Tottenham should have had a corner, but the officials award a goal-kick.
82'
M. Obafemi enters the game and replaces M. Gabbiadini.
Well, there will be no Redmond today for the hosts. Their final change sees Manolo Gabbiadini make way for 17-year-old Michael Obafemi, who makes his Premier League debut.
80'
S. Davis enters the game and replaces M. Lemina.
There will indeed be a substitution for Southampton, but it is not Nathan Redmond who comes on. Instead, Mario Lemina makes way for Steven Davis.
79'
A booking now for Trippier, who prevented Tadic getting free down the left.
Minute
Description
78'
K. Trippier gets yellow.
Southampton have switched to a 4-5-1 now, with Gabbiadini looking rather isolated up top. This is an occasion when the pace of Shane Long would be a real asset, but with the Irishman out with illness, perhaps Nathan Redmond will be the man brought on for the hosts…
76'
Ward-Prowse’s free-kick isn’t up to standard this time, though, and Tottenham break. Lamela leads the charge, only to be dragged back by Lamina. It should really have been a booking for the Saints man, but Kevin Friend lets him get away with a warning.
75'
M. Dembélé gets yellow.
And, finally, a booking for Dembele, who picks up a yellow card for a shove on Bertrand. That was his sixth foul today, and it has given the hosts a free-kick in a dangerous position down the left…
74'
Tottenham are having a lot of possession in Southampton’s half at the moment, but can’t find an opening in the hosts’ defence. Eriksen’s absence has really been felt in that department today.
72'
K. Trippier enters the game and replaces S. Aurier.
A second change in quick succession for the visitors - though this one is enforced. Serge Aurier has picked up a knock, so Kieran Trippier is on.
71'
Tottenham will make a change of their own, now. On comes Erik Lamela, in place of Hueng-Min Son.
70'
É. Lamela enters the game and replaces Son Heung-Min.
CHANCE! Alli flaps at an attempted volley, but the ball rebounds to Dembele on the edge of the area. His effort is a poor one though and, although Tottenham keep up the pressure, Vertonghen can only fire wide.
68'
That’s vital defending from Stephens, who manages to turn Kane’s goal-bound strike wide.
66'
A first substitution now, as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg makes way for Sofiane Boufal.
65'
S. Boufal enters the game and replaces P. Højbjerg.
CLOSE! Wonderful skill from Dembele in midfield as he gets past his markers with ease before laying it off to Alli. He doesn’t hesitate, turning and quickly unleashing a low strike that has McCarthy scrambling, but the ball slides just wide of the upright.
62'
Kane latches onto a corner from Davies, but this time the Tottenham star gets his effort horribly wrong, completely missing his attempted volley.
60'
Oriol Romeu gets yellow.
More frustration here for the Saints fans, as Romeu picks up a booking for a challenge on Alli.
59'
Great combination play between Alli and Davies down the left opens up Southampton’s defence, but Stephens gets across to make a vital block.
57'
M. Sissoko gets yellow.
Ironic cheers around St. Mary’s now, as a Tottenham player finally goes into the book. It is not Dembele, but Sissoko, who dived in late on Bertrand.
55'
A pause in play here, as Lemina receives some treatment. That gives Pellegrino a chance to reorganise his defence somewhat, instructing Cedric to tuck in slightly as to limit the impact Son and Alli are having in between the lines.
53'
This really is ridiculous from Kevin Friend, who - despite another late challenge from Dembele - decides not to book the Tottenham man. Considering how keen the referee was to book Stephens for his first offence a moment ago, Southampton’s frustration is certainly understandable.
52'
Tadic gets Southampton forward with a great run, before eventually finding Gabbiadini. The striker’s touch is poor, but he manages to poke the ball back to Tadic, whose looping cross towards Hojberg is well cut-out by Davies.
51'
Son appears to have taken up a role alongside Kane since the restart, with All drifting out more to the left, and that is pressing Southampton’s defence back further.
50'
Tottenham’s free-kick comes to nothing and Southampton counter through Ward-Prowse. The midfielder has to take his shot early, and in doing so can’t quite generate the power to beat Vorm.
49'
A first booking of the game now, and it does seem a harsh one considering how much Kevin Friend let Dembele get away with in the first half. Stephens is the man to get it as he tugged on the shirt of Kane, but the Tottenham captain was also pulling on the shirt of Southampton’s defender.
48'
J. Stephens gets yellow.
Half-a-chance for Tottenham, as Alli manages to prod the ball through to Son, who had drifted into a central position. Son’s touch under pressure is a poor one, though, and McCarthy is able to scramble it clear.
46'
We are back underway at St. Mary's. No changes for either side at the interval.
44'
It has been a rather stunted display so far from Tottenham, and Southampton have certainly caused some trouble for the visitors, though have just lacked that clinical edge so far.
41'
A vital tackle from Sanchez, who gets across in timely fashion to prevent Bertrand getting into the area at the culmination of another great overlapping run. Southampton quickly regain possession, however - Gabbiadini teeing up Lemina - but the midfielder's strike does not trouble Vorm too much.
39'
A talking-to now for Dembele, who has committed several fouls without picking up a booking - much to Southampton’s chagrin. Kevin Friend appears to have told the Belgian that he won’t be so fortunate next time, though.
37'
CHANCE! What a delivery from Ward-Prowse, who puts a wonderful cross into the danger area. Stephens had got free of Tottenham’s defenders, but the centre-back can’t turn his header into the top corner.
36'
A clumsy foul from Dembele provides Ward-Prowse with an opportunity to whip a ball in from a dangerous position…
35'
Bertrand and Tadic again combine well down Southampton’s left flank, but this time Sissoko is back to make a good interception. Tottenham break through Alli, who is eventually crowded out by Southampton’s retreating defence.
32'
Tottenham have won their last three away Premier League games on a Sunday by an aggregate score of 13-2 – this is their first such match since their opening weekend win against Newcastle.
30'
CHANCE! Tottenham keep up the pressure on Southampton’s defence, with Davies eventually hammering a cross-cum-shot across the face of goal. Sissoko is well-placed for a tap in, but the France midfielder can only deflect it wide from point-blank range.
28'
Kane is now on 99 Premier League goals, while he has scored six goals in his last four Premier League appearances against Southampton.
26'
A looping cross to the back post has Aurier struggling, with Tadic appealing for a handball. The referee waves play on as the ball bounces out to Lemina, but his shot flies wide.
24'
After that glut of action, Southampton seem to have recovered back into their shape, and a good tackle from Hojberg on Sanchez almost sees the hosts break clear, but Tadic doesn’t quite manage to connect with the loose ball.
21'
STAT - Davinson Sanchez's own goal was the first by a Spurs player since Kevin Wimmer against Arsenal back in November 2016.
20'
CLOSE! Kane could have been in for a second there, but Alli failed to find him after picking up possession in the area.
18'
H. Kane has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by B. Davies.
GOOOOOAAAAAALLLL!!! KANE EQUALISES! The warning signs were there just a moment ago for Southampton, and now they have been punished. Davies puts in a great cross from a corner, and Kane is on hand to power home with a brilliant header.
Davies - taking corners in the absence of Eriksen - has been putting in some superb deliveries, and Southampton simply haven’t been able to cope.
17'
POST! Almost an immediate response from the visitors, as Dier rattles the woodwork after Vertonghen had done well to nod the ball back into the danger area.
15'
D. Sánchez is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOOOOAAAALLLL!! SOUTHAMPTON TAKE THE LEAD! Well, a huge slice of luck for the Saints, but they have got the goal that their positive start has deserved. Tadic and Bertrand combined brilliantly down the left - the latter thumping in a low cross that Sanchez could only prod into his own net.
12'
Jack Stephens must have had his heart in his mouth, there, as he slices a header towards his own goal. Fortunately for Southampton, it sails just wide.
11'
A well-worked move from Southampton results in Ward-Prowse finding space down the right before delivering a great cross that has Tottenham’s defence scrambling. Tadic picks up the scraps, but Gabbiadini can’t turn his effort on target.
8'
Southampton are winless in five home Premier League matches against Spurs since re-entering the top-flight in 2012 (D1 L4) – this after winning five in a row between 2000 and 2005. As I write, Ward-Prowse tries his luck from range, but slices his effort well wide.
6'
It appears that Lemina will in fact play in a deeper role in midfield, with Hojberg pushed forward into a number 10 role.
4'
Sharp play from Ward-Prowse, who lofts a raking pass over the top of Tottenham’s defence, setting Tadic free. The Serbian drives a first-time cross into the area, but Gabbiadini can’t latch onto it. Hojberg looks to chase down the loose ball, but Vorm gets there first.
2'
A bright start from the Saints, as Gabbiadini - who has struggled in front of goal this term - takes a snapshot at Tottenham's goal, forcing Vorm into an early save on his return to action.
1'
KICK-OFF! After a moment of appreciation for the late, great Cyrille Regis, we are up and running at St. Mary’s!
Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage of today’s Premier League action, as struggling Southampton host high-flying Tottenham at St. Mary’s Stadium.
A win for Stoke City in Paul Lambert’s first game in charge has piled the pressure on Southampton, who find themselves in the bottom three as they go up against former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is yet to lose a Premier League game at St. Mary’s since he left the Saints at the end of the 2013-14 season.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are in fine form, having won four of their last five league games. Last week, Harry Kane became their leading Premier League goalscorer with a brace in the 4-0 thumping of Everton at Wembley.
Tottenham substitutes: Trippier, Lamela, Wanyama, Llorente, Foyth, Gazzaniga, Walker-Peters.
James Ward-Prowse has scored each of Southampton’s last three goals in all competitions (one vs Fulham, two vs Watford), and you feel the playmaker will have to play an important role from his position out on the right if the Saints are to get anything today.
Tottenham, meanwhile, will have to function without their creator-in-chief Eriksen. Not that the visitors are lacking for attacking options - with Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and of course, Kane, all in scintillating form.
Two changes in total for Southampton, as Shane Long and Steven Davis drop out, with Manolo Gabbiadini and Mario Lemina coming in. Pochettino, on the other hand, makes two alterations to the side that bettered Everton - Christian Eriksen, who isn’t in the squad at all, makes way for Moussa Sissoko, while Michel Vorm is in for Hugo Lloris.
It's half time at St. Mary’s, with the score level at 1-1. Southampton deservedly took the lead through Davinson Sanchez’s own-goal, only for Harry Kane to level proceedings 197 seconds later.
It has been a strong display from the hosts, and that will buoy Mauricio Pellegrino. Tottenham, on the other hand, haven’t really got out of first gear, but week defending from Southampton at set-pieces will give the visitors encouragement.
Well, that’s all we’ve got time for today. Until next time, goodbye!
It is a bit of a blow for Tottenham, who could have snatched the win themselves had Harry Kane followed up his equaliser with a second in stoppage time. As it is, though, the visitors have given fourth-placed Liverpool the chance to move five points clear in the race for the top four should the Reds beat lowly Swansea City tomorrow.
So, the points are shared at St. Mary’s, and it is certainly a deserved result for Southampton, who had two great opportunities to win it late on. The Saints remain in the bottom three, though.
