Neymar is booked for kicking the ball away. It hasn't been the friendliest of encounters that's for sure.
90' +2
S. Prcić has scored a goal for Rennes!
A LIFELINE FOR RENNES! Could we have a grandstand finish?! Marquinhos fails to clear and Prcic's low drive flies into the bottom-right corner. What a comeback this would be!
90'
Impudent from Neymar who controls a long ball on his back before flicking the ball over a Rennes player. The hosts aren't too happy about that little exhibition. We'll have four minutes of added time.
89'
L. Diarra enters the game and replaces A. Rabiot.
Lassana Diarra comes on for a late cameo in place of Rabiot.
87'
J. Léa Siliki gets yellow.
Siliki receives a caution after elbowing Lo Celso in the chest straight from the restart.
85'
D. Sakho has scored a goal for Rennes! Assist by Ludovic Baal.
A very nice delivery from a free-kick from Baal, giving Rennes something to smile about.
A DEBUT GOAL FOR SAKHO!!! The Senegal striker glances a header from Baal's delivery beyond Trapp and into the bottom-right corner and Rennes have a consolation.
84'
Benjamin Andre has the ball in the net, but he's some way offside. That's twice Rennes have had goals chalked off tonight, but both were correct decisions.
83'
Great save by Trapp! He acrobatically dives to turn a swerving effort from Hunou over the bar.
82'
C. Nkunku enters the game and replaces Á. Di María.
A decent performance from Di Maria comes to an end as he is replaced by Christopher Nkunku.
81'
Sakho... Great save by Trapp! The German denies Sakho after the ball breaks to him at the near post. Trapp made himself big and makes the stop to preserve his clean sheet.
Minute
Description
80'
Hunou tries a curling shot from outside the box but that is easy work for Trapp. Rennes are running out of ideas.
78'
Sakho then curls over the bar with a first-time effort from Baal's lay-off. It's been better from Rennes in the last few minutes, though PSG have taken their foot off the gas somewhat.
76'
Nice build-up play from Rennes goes unrewarded as Siliki is unable to get the telling touch on a low ball into the box. You could argue Rennes deserve a goal tonight, but it doesn't look imminent.
74'
In three games between PSG and Rennes at Roazhon Park in the space of three weeks, Unai Emery's men hold a 13-2 aggregate lead, in case you were under any illusion as to the huge gap between these sides.
72'
A rapid break from Neymar sees him upended, but fairly, by the last defender. The ball goes behind but, much to Neymar's dismay, for a goal-kick rather than the corner he wanted.
70'
J. Léa Siliki enters the game and replaces W. Khazri.
Khazri's evening is done, as he is replaced by James Edward Lea Siliki, who has been likened to former PSG star Blaise Matuidi.
69'
W. Khazri gets yellow.
H. Traoré gets yellow.
The corner comes to nothing, PSG counter before Neymar is eventually fouled by Traore. He goes into an increasingly crowded referee's notebook.
68'
Prcic has a go from outside the box but it is deflected wide of the goal. Corner for Rennes, can they find a consolation?
67'
Not much to report in terms of actual chances at this point. The game has descended into the two teams fouling each other.
65'
S. Prcić gets yellow.
Tempers flare once more after Prcic hacks at Di Maria, who was already going to ground near the touchline. Frustration seems to be getting the better of both teams.
64'
A. Hunou enters the game and replaces I. Sarr.
Sarr, who looked in some discomfort after the foul, makes way for Adrien Hunou.
63'
K. Mbappé goes off after a red card!
IT'S RED FOR MBAPPE! PSG will play the last 27 minutes with 10 men after he is dismissed for raking his studs down the calf of Sarr.
62'
We've gone back to VAR, what card will Mbappe be shown?
60'
Mbappe could be in trouble here, as tempers flare following a nasty foul from behind on Sarr.
58'
G. Lo Celso has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by Á. Di María.
IT'S THREE! Tie over and what a howler for Diallo, who allows a relatively tame effort from Giovani Lo Celso to squirm under him. That's the substitute's first goal for PSG but you have to think he will score a better one.
It was Di Maria who fed Lo Celso, perhaps more by luck than judgement, but that goal was all about the error from Diallo.
55'
Berchice almost makes it three! Neymar plays in the left-back but his effort is this time kept out by Diallo, whose goal may well come under siege in the final half-hour.
53'
Marquinhos has scored a goal for PSG!
AND THERE IS THE SECOND! Verratti plays a stunning cross-field pass for Neymar, who controls it brilliantly and lays the ball off for Di Maria. His shot is parried by Diallo but only as far as Marquinhos, who has an easy tap-in to make it 2-0.
52'
So a let-off for Rennes but PSG are continuing to press for a second and win a corner.
50'
We've got another VAR decision incoming. Mbappe looked level...
The decision stands, Mbappe - who latched on to a shot-turned-pass from Adrien Rabiot - will feel hard done by but PSG's lead remains 1-0.
49'
Mbappe has the ball in the net, but the offside flag is raised!
46'
D. Sakho enters the game and replaces Y. Gourcuff.
G. Lo Celso enters the game and replaces J. Pastore.
Substitution Yoann Gourcuff Diafra Sakho
Substitution Javier Matías Pastore Giovani Lo Celso
Rennes, who have brought Diafra Sakho on for the second half for his debut, get proceedings back under way.
Appeals for handball! A Rennes corner proves awkward for Meunier to deal with but referee Mikael Lesage waves away the protests.
45' +2
Fingertip save from Diallo! The Rennes goalkeeper diverts an acrobatic Di Maria volley over the bar. The Argentine's effort looked to be going over anyway but still an impressive stop.
44'
Whistles all around Roazhon Park! Neymar breaks and has an effort from outside the box blocked by Prcic. Rennes quickly counter and Sarr pulls the ball back for Khazri, who controls the ball partially with his hand and slots the ball into the bottom-left corner. The stadium erupts but their joy is short-lived as the goal is speedily and correctly ruled out by VAR.
41'
Khazri collects the ball down the left-hand side of the PSG box but, after working it past Presnel Kimpembe, runs out of options. The play in the final third remains lacking from the hosts.
40'
Neymar and Traore go down in the box off the ball and the free-kick goes the way of Rennes, who have five minutes to find a leveller before the break.
38'
It wasn't much of a storm after the PSG opener, but Rennes appear to have weathered it nonetheless. Now it's a question of whether they can find some way back into the contest.
36'
A wasteful corner from Di Maria misses everyone in the box and goes out for a goal-kick. An opportunity to double the lead goes begging.
34'
A loud rendition of "Paris est magique" booms from the section of away supporters. Magic is a pretty good way to sum up that Meunier goal.
32'
If Rennes are to find a way back into this game, it may come through Sarr, who embarks on another run down the left before eventually being crowded out. He has been one of their most impressive players in the first half.
30'
Credit to the Rennes' supporters, their volume hasn't lowered in the wake of PSG's opener, but the visitors appear to have found their groove and are probing in search of a second that would surely put the tie to bed.
28'
I. Sarr gets yellow.
That won't improve the home fans' mood! Sarr goes down under a sliding challenge from Meunier in the box but no penalty is given, with the Rennes' winger instead booked for simulation.
26'
The encouragement from the home fans has turned to boos as Neymar is fouled. Rennes haven't created much despite a strong first-half showing and what already looked a tall order now appears a mammoth one.
24'
T. Meunier has scored a goal for PSG!
GOALLLLLLL!!!! AND WHAT A GOAL IT IS! PSG take the lead in utterly magnificent fashion. Meunier embarks on a determined run and the ball deflects off Sanjin Prcic, sitting up perfectly hit a superb volley that loops beyond a helpless Diallo. All Rennes' hard work has been undone.
23'
The home fans raise the volume after that opening for Rennes. They have to be buoyed by what they have seen to this point.
21'
That was a chance! Sarr plays in Baal down the left-hand side of the box but the full-back, with Yoann Gourcuff unmarked, decides to flash the ball across the face of goal to nobody in particular. Rennes waste a big opportunity.
20'
Mbappe has had just four touches so far in this game. A stat that illustrates just how little Rennes have allowed PSG to do so far.
18'
Wahbi Khazri is robbed of possession deep in his own half but PSG cannot take advantage as a cross for Neymar is cut out by Jeremy Gelin. Another scare that threatened to undermine Rennes' good play to this point.
16'
Rennes are going to need to be slicker in possession if they want to win this one. They quickly counter from a PSG corner but the play in the final third is too laboured and falls to nothing. For all their endeavour, Rennes have failed to trouble Trapp.
14'
Neymar tries to feed Mbappe in the box after PSG win the ball back quickly from a Rennes goal-kick. Mbappe's first touch is a poor one, however, and Rennes are able to clear their lines.
13'
Or a goalkeeping error! Diallo almost presents the ball on a plate to Mbappe but is just about able to clear. A heart-in-the-mouth moment for the hosts.
12'
PSG aren't finding a lot of space in attack when they do have the ball at the moment. It may take something special for them to break down Rennes on this occasion.
10'
Traore lashes over after Berchice only half clears a cross from the left. Rennes coach Sabri Lamouchi has to be very encouraged by what he has seen so far.
9'
What a waste from Bourigeaud! He nicks the ball off Neymar and Rennes have a three-on-three in attack. Bourigeaud tries an audacious shot and it is nowhere near the PSG goal. A bewildering decision.
8'
A brief moment of worry for Rennes as Hamari Traore is down injured. He appears well enough to be able to continue for now, however.
7'
PSG's corner comes to nothing and Rennes break but Javier Pastore does the dirty work tracking back and eventually wins a foul deep inside his own half.
Ismaila Sarr tries his luck with a long-range effort but Kevin Trapp watches the shot drift harmlessly wide of his right-hand post. Promising from Rennes, though.
6'
PSG are just settling into their rhythm. Yuri Berchice's left-wing cross is a good one but it is cleared behind by Ludovic Baal for a corner.
3'
A good start for Rennes, who are pressing PSG well. The visitors appear uncharacteristically uncomfortable on the ball in the early going.
Angel Di Maria has a dangerous cross cleared but the ball works its way back to the Argentine, who tries another delivery that is claimed by Rennes goalkeeper Abdoulaye Diallo.
1'
PSG get the game up and running!
Some boisterous backing for Rennes, who win an early free-kick as Ismaila Sarr is fouled by Thomas Meunier.
Hello and welcome to live text commentary of the Coupe de la Ligue semi-final between Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain.
Holders PSG are once again the heavy favourites to lift the trophy and victory will see them set up a final with either Monaco or Montpellier. Rennes are looking to return to the final for the first time since 2013, when they were beaten by Saint-Etienne.
Rennes are enjoying a decent season in Ligue 1 and are looking at a top-half finish. They are eighth in the table, seven points clear of the relegation play-off place, however, the gap between themselves and PSG was illustrated in the Coupe de France this month, the capital club claiming a 6-1 away win.
So what approach have the two managers gone far as they bid to reach the final. Let's go through the two team line-ups...
Substitutes: Areola, Cavani, Kurzawa, Lo Celso, N'Soki, Nkunku, Diarra.
The big news for PSG is that Kylian Mbappe is back in the team after missing the wins over Guingamp and Montpellier following a collision with Anthony Lopes in the league defeat to Lyon.
Lassana Diarra is also in the squad for PSG, their new signing named on the bench by Unai Emery. Rennes striker Diafra Sakho is also among the subs after his move to Brittany from Premier League side West Ham.
The teams are in the tunnel at Roazhon Park, we're almost ready for action!
An enthusiastic home crowd welcomes the teams to the pitch. This is a far bigger game for Rennes than it is for PSG. Can they upset the odds?
Half-time in Brittany and PSG are on course for a fifth successive Coupe de la Ligue final. They have not lost in this competition since 2012 and do not look like doing so tonight. Rennes have played well and have had the ball in the net but it is Thomas Meunier's stunning volley that is the difference between the two teams.
Full-time and PSG are into the final of the Coupe de la Ligue! It's a fifth successive final in this competition for the capital club, who have not lost in this tournament since 2012. It was more difficult than it should have been for the holders, with Sanjin Prcic's late goal giving Rennes hope of a remarkable fightback, but it's PSG who will head to Bordeaux on March 31 to face either Montpellier or Monaco.
Hope you enjoyed our live text commentary. That's all for tonight. For now, it's goodbye!
