Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the LaLiga clash between Barcelona and Girona at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona come into the game following their 1-1 draw with Chelsea during the week in the Champions League. Lionel Messi scored a vital away goal for the Catalan club to give them an advantage heading into the second leg. Ernesto Valverde's men now turn their attention back to LaLiga where they will look to extend their lead at the top.
Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba scored to hand the Catalan club a 2-0 victory over Eibar last week, extending their unbeaten run in the league this season. They've been imperious this term, but Valverde will be wary of fatigue after a tough battle at Stamford Bridge.
Girona are safe in mid-table and come into the match fresh off an impressive victory over Leganes last week. Cristhian Stuani, Portu and Juanpe all found the net in the win, distancing themselves from the relegation zone. Pablo Machin's men are five points off the pace of Sevilla in fifth place and may have greater ambitions on their mind this term.

We're back underway at the Camp Nou.
FULL-TIME: BARCELONA 6-1 GIRONA
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Barcelona break their club record for most games unbeaten in a row in LaLiga, notching their 32nd performance without a defeat this evening. Their previous best of 31 under Pep Guardiola was ended in 2011, but there's a new record in place. It was under threat in the early stages of the game as Portu put Girona ahead. However, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi prevented that notion, with the Uruguayan notching a hat-trick, while the Argentine scored a brace. Philippe Coutinho got his first LaLiga goal to cement the compounding victory.
