Juanpe has scored a goal for Girona! Assist by Álex Granell.
GOAL! Another for Girona! Once again, a well-executed corner results in a goal for the visitors, and this time it's Juanpe who rises high and beats Navas with a wonderfully placed downward header.
Not for the first time this evening, Granell sent a wonderful cross into the penalty area and right onto the head of one of his team-mates. Madrid should have done much better, mind, as once again their marking was poor.
87'
M. Olunga enters the game and replaces C. Stuani.
Girona have made their third and final change, with Stuani making way for Olunga up front.
Great chance for Portu! Olunga immediately gets himself involved in the thick of the action as he out-muscles Varane and pokes the ball back to Portu. The forward quickly shoots, but his thumping strike is sent straight at Navas.

G. Bale has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by L. Modrić.
Modric's pass was a wonderful one, and it perfectly found Bale inside the box, where he'd been left all alone by the sleeping Girona defence.
GOAL! Bale makes it 5-2! Madrid have looked slightly sloppy since going 4-1 up but they've all but wrapped up the three points thanks to Bale. The Welshman breaks into the box and latches onto a lovely pass from Modric, setting him up to chip a shot over Bounou and into the back of the net.

Description
80'
Almost a costly mistake by Varane! A terrible attempted back-pass from the defender can't quite find Navas, allowing Stuani to dart ahead of the goalkeeper. The Costa Rican does well to close down the angle, though, and he then pokes the ball behind for a corner before the Girona striker can shoot.
78'
Stuani almost wraps up his hat-trick! Mojica is fouled out wide by Carvajal once again, and the first Girona free-kick quickly results in a second. It's curled into the middle of the box and picks out Stuani, whose glancing header flies agonisingly wide of the post.
76'
Madrid immediately try to counter-attack after dealing with the set-piece, but Ronaldo's pass into the penalty area is slightly overhit and cut out by Boumou before it can pick out the onrushing Marcelo.
75'
Mojica is clumsily fouled by Carvajal, and once again Girona are presented with a free-kick in a promising position. They're unable to make it count, though, as the cross into the box is overhit and bounces straight into the hands of Navas.
74'
A strange header from Varane sends the ball bouncing behind for a corner. Granell's cross in is a poor one, however, and the ball flies comically far away from the Madrid penalty area.

L. Modrić enters the game and replaces M. Kovačić.
And the second is Modric, with Kovacic making way.
70'
G. Bale enters the game and replaces Marco Asensio.
With 20 minutes left to play, Madrid have decided to make a double switch. The first player to come on is Bale, who replaces Asensio.
A Madrid free-kick fails to result in a chance on goal, allowing Girona to quickly counter-attack. Portu flies deep into the hosts' half of the pitch and tries to set up Lozano on the edge of the box, but Kroos does brilliantly to rush back and beat the substitute to the ball at the vital moment.
69'
A. Lozano enters the game and replaces Borja García.
Girona have made their first substitution of the game, with Lozano coming on to replace Garcia.
67'
C. Stuani has scored a goal for Girona! Assist by Borja García.
That was a lovely cross from Garcia to set up Stuani for his second goal of the night, but once again Madrid were poor defensively and were made to pay. Could that goal prove costly come the end of the night?
GOAL! Is this the start of a fantastic comeback? Madrid are hit by another set-piece, and once again it's Stuani who gets the better of Carvajal before nodding the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.

GOAL! It's yet another hat-trick for Ronaldo! It looks as if Benzema is going to get on the scoresheet after being set up by Asensio, but Bounou gets down low to save his strike. 63'
Nacho hits the crossbar! An excellent Asensio cross loops into the heart of the Girona box and straight to Nacho, who rises high and smashes the woodwork with his towering header. So close to a fourth for Madrid!

Lucas Vázquez has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Cristiano Ronaldo.
GOAL! Vazquez makes it 3-1! A clever cross is fired into the middle of the Girona box and finds Ronaldo. The Portuguese quickly controls the ball and knocks it over to Vazquez, who then side-foots a lovely first-time strike straight into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
That was clever, selfless play from Ronaldo, who could have spun and shot himself but instead decided to set up Vazquez with a deft pass.
58'
It's been a really good start to the second half for Madrid, who are firmly on the front foot and causing all sorts of problems for their visitors. Girona are struggling to break out of their own half of the pitch at the moment.

The resulting set-piece is whipped over to Ronaldo, who immediately unleashes a thumping shot but can't quite test Bounou in the Girona goal.
55'

Dani Carvajal gets yellow.
Stuani is clumsily caught from behind by Carvajal, resulting in a yellow card for the Madrid full-back and a free-kick for Girona in a very dangerous position just outside of the box.
51'
Another decent Madrid move looks as if it's going to result in a chance on goal, but Asensio's first touch is a poor one and denies him the opportunity to shoot from the edge of the penalty area.
49'
Madrid immediately push forward from the restart and set up Benzema to shoot, but the striker can't quite get the better of Maffeo and has to settle for a corner after his shot is deflected behind.

Benzema has struggled in front of goal this season but that was a wonderful throughball. He perfectly picked out Ronaldo and put the ball on a plate for the Portuguese.
GOAL! Ronaldo strikes again! Vazquez and Benzema link up nicely just outside of the Girona box before the latter pokes a pass into the penalty area. It perfectly picks out Ronaldo, who then chips a lovely shot over Bounou and into the back of the net.

34'
Patient build-up play by the home side presents Ronaldo with a chance to shoot from 25 yards out, but he ends up firing his strike straight into the hands of Bounou in the middle of the goal.
32'
It looks as if Girona are going to hit Madrid on another good counter-attack after winning back possession on the halfway line, but Pons is quickly closed down by a white shirts and can't find a way through to the penalty area.
30'

Mojica and Carvajal immediately tangle after the restart, and the Colombian ends up receiving the first booking of the game after catching the Madrid defender in the face with a flailing arm.

GOAL! Girona have equalised! A poor foul from Carvajal results in a free-kick for the visitors deep down the left flank. It's swung in by Granell and finds Stuani, who immediately beats Navas with an excellent bullet header.
That was an excellent delivery by Granell, who perfectly picked out Stuani, but Carvajal was both at fault for giving away the free-kick and failing to track the run of the goalscorer.
28'
What a chance for Portu to equalise! A burst of speed from the forward sees him skip into the Madrid box and shoot, but he can't quite find the back of the net after poking a strike past the onrushing Navas.

23'
Vazquez scores, but it won't count! Kroos looks as if he's going to shoot but instead pokes a lovely pass into the penalty area and towards Vazquez. The forward quickly spins and blasts a shot past Bounou, but the linesman's flag is raised as soon as the Madrid players start to celebrate. That certainly was a close call!
21'
Girona have responded well to going behind, but Madrid still look the most likely to score tonight's second goal. Space is being left open by the visitors, which the home side are slowly but surely starting to take advantage of.
19'
Asensio makes a clever run into the left-hand side of the Girona penalty area and quickly shoots, but his low effort is a tame one and rolls straight into the hands of Bounou in the middle of the goal.

That was good vision from Kroos, but the goal was all about Ronaldo. The Portuguese showcased wonderful movement to skip away from two defenders and into a pocket of space.

We're off! Girona get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live coverage of today’s LaLiga game between Real Madrid and Girona at the Bernabeu.
It’s proving to be a decent run for Madrid, who head into tonight’s game with the opportunity to extend their winning streak to four games. They successfully booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with an impressive 2-1 victory away to Paris Saint-Germain last week and then beat Eibar by the same scoreline, presenting them with a chance to move back above Valencia and up to third place.
All isn’t quite right at the club, though, and even a positive end to the campaign won’t paper over the many cracks that emerged this season. The league title has been out of Los Blancos’ reach for quite some time now, and while they still have the possibility of winning the Champions League crown, domestically all they can realistically hope for is a third-place finish as they battle tooth and nail with Valencia.
Madrid just about managed to get the better of Eibar last Saturday, and today they’re taking on another Europa League-chasing side in Girona. The Catalan club, featuring in LaLiga for the first time in their history, have been absolutely excellent this season, and they head into tonight’s tie with five wins from their last seven league games.
Not only are Girona on a fantastic run during which they’ve failed to concede a single goal in three matches, they also managed to get the better of Madrid the last time the two sides met. Goals from Cristhian Stuani and Portu handed them all three points back in October, and they’ll certainly be feeling confident about their chances of beating Zinedine Zidane's men once again tonight.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Girona XI (3-4-2-1): Yassine Bounou; Jonas Ramalho, Bernardo, Juanpe; Pablo Maffeo, Pere Pons, Alex Granell, Johan Mojica; Portu, Borja Garcia; Cristhian Stuani.
Real Madrid substitutes: Kiko Casilla, Jesus Vallejo, Theo Hernandez, Casemiro, Luka Modric, Isco, Gareth Bale.
Real Madrid XI (4-4-2): Keylor Navas; Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Nacho, Marcelo; Lucas Vazquez, Mateo Kovacic, Toni Kroos, Marco Asensio; Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Girona substitutes: Gorka Iraizoz, Aday Benitez, Michael Olunga, David Timor, Antony Lozano, Marc Muniesa, Aleix Garcia.
Zinedine Zidane has decided to make five changes to the Madrid side that started the win against Eibar last weekend, with Nacho, Vazquez, Kovacic, Asensio and Benzema coming into the starting line-up to replace Sergio Ramos, Modric, Casemiro, Isco and Bale, respectively.
Meanwhile, Girona boss Pablo Machin has named an unchanged side to the one that featured in their last outing, with in-form Stuani, who has scored 15 league goals this season, once again leading the line.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: REAL MADRID 1-1 GIRONA
It's been a thoroughly entertaining game so far, with both sides doing well to carve out excellent chances on goal. Madrid took an 11th-minute lead through a lovely Ronaldo finish and looked to be in control, but Girona have impressed since then and are deservedly level at the break. With 45 minutes remaining, this game is still in the balance.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: REAL MADRID 6-3 GIRONA
Well, that was a lot of fun, wasn't it? Madrid took the lead early on but were pegged back by Girona for the remainder of the first half. They came out fighting at the start of the second, though, and, bar a few momentary blips, they were on top from then onwards. A third consecutive LaLiga win has sent them back above Valencia and to within four points of second-place Atletico Madrid.
