14'
It has all been a bit tame so far and out of nothing Barcelona find gaps in this Valencia defence. Jordi Alba races onto a pass inside the left of the box and tries to beat Neto at his near post. Cutting the ball back probably would have been the better option.

9'
Barcelona have taken control of possession now and are holding onto the ball well. They move it around the final third with little pressure from the Valencia defenders but can't find any way through the sea of white shirts. All too easy defensively for the away side so far.

4'
Valencia turn their pressure into attack as Goncalo Guedes picks the ball up on the edge of the box before turning into space and curling an effort towards the far corner. Marc-Andre ter Stegen dives well to palm the ball clear but that was definitely sneaking in otherwise.

Valencia get the game underway, kicking right to left.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of today’s La Liga game between Barcelona and Valencia at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona go into today’s game with a comfortable 11 point lead at the top of La Liga. A victory against visitors Valencia this afternoon would see the Catalans surpass the 38 game unbeaten league record currently held by the Real Sociedad side of the 1979-1980 season.
Ernesto Valverde’s side will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing exit from the Champions’ League after Roma overturned a 4-1 deficit to progress on away goals. Ivan Rakitic is expected to miss out after picking up an injury in that game so Paulinho is expected to take his place.
Valencia are enjoying an eight game unbeaten run in La Liga, last losing to Atletico Madrid in February. They are on course to qualify for the Champions’ League as they sit 13 points clear of Real Betis in fifth with seven games left to play.
A win this afternoon for Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side could see them leapfrog Atletico Madrid into second place and further cement their top-four position, with Atletico playing tomorrow. Valencia will be without midfielder Francis Coquelin due to injury but have no other injury concerns coming into this game.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Barcelona XI (4-4-2): ter Stegen; Roberto, Pique, Umtiti, Alba; Coutinho, Busquets, Paulinho, Iniesta; Messi, Suarez.
Barcelona substitutes: Semedo, Suarez, Dembele, Cillessen, Alcacer, Gomes, Vermaelen.
Barcelona make two changes to the side that lost 3-0 to Roma during the week. Ivan Rakitic is replaced in midfield by Paulinho as expected, while Philippe Coutinho replaces Nelson Semedo.
Valencia make two changes to the side that beat Espanyol 1-0 last weekend. Simone Zaza drops to the bench in favour of Santi Mina, who will partner Rodrigo Moreno in a two man attack. Ruben Vezo replaces Martin Montoya at right-back in the other change.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: BARCELONA 1-0 VALENCIA.
Barcelona are a goal to the good at the break but it has been anything but a dominant performance from the league leaders. Valencia have caused plenty of problems themselves and could easily have been two or three goals up were it not for the fine form of ter Stegen. The away side have had the better chances throughout but Barca are ahead in the only stat that matters.
The players are making their way out onto the pitch, ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: BARCELONA 2-0 VALENCIA.
Barcelona break the record for the longest unbeaten run in La Liga history with 39 games and it was far from a convincing victory for the Catalans. Valencia put up a spirited fight throughout and had the better chances, testing ter Stegen on a number of occassions but being unable to find their way beyond the German international. Luis Suarez slotted in the opener from Coutinho's pass in a rare attack in the first half before Samuel Umtiti doubled their lead from a corner, also provided by Coutinho. Valencia looked down and out before Daniel Parejo squeezed a penalty under the body of ter Stegen to give Valencia a glimmer of hope, but they could not find a second. The result puts Barcelona 14 points clear of second placed Atletico Madrid. Valencia remain third.
