CLOSE! Campbell goes close to scoring his second goal of the game! Matarrita crosses the ball into the box, which Campbell meets at the far post, but his volley goes narrowly wide of the Northern Ireland goal.
88'
Costa Rica are passing the ball between themselves now at a walking pace. There is still plenty of noise being made by the home fans though, as they enjoy this performance by their team.
85'
J. Thompson enters the game and replaces C. Evans.
Corry Evans heads off the pitch and he has been replaced by Jordan Thompson late on.
83'
Northern Ireland are missing a couple of key players during this tour, with Steven Davis, Ollie Norwood and Kyle Lafferty all noticeable absentees. However, it won't dampen the spirits of the Northern Ireland players, as they always seem to perform on the competitive international stage.
81'
Northern Ireland will be eager to hear the final whistle now, they look exhausted out there. Not the game that Michael O'Neill would've expected, as they have chased the game from start to finish and the hosts quality has really shone through, especially in the second half.
75'
Not long left to play now and the pace of the game has dropped dramatically in the last five minutes or so, with the flurry substitutes taking away any momentum. The Northern Ireland players have barely touched the ball in the Costa Rica half during this second period, but they have been second best in every area of the pitch today.
73'
L. McCullough enters the game and replaces C. Cathcart.

Description
68'
The home supporters are loving this performance for their side, the perfect way to see their side off to the World Cup. Costa Rica should face a stronger test against England on Thursday, before facing Belgium in their final warm-up game before heading to Russia.
66'
F. Calvo has scored a goal for Costa Rica! Assist by J. Campbell.
Campbell took the corner, putting a lot of pace on the ball and it was perfect for Calvo who got away from his marker and made it 3-0.
IT'S THREE! Calvo scores number three for Costa Rica and the second goal from a corner. It's more terrible defending by Northern Ireland. The corner is whipped into the box with great pace and Calvo rose highest in the box, losing his marker and powering his header past Carson, who had no chance of saving that. Northern Ireland have look vulnerable at set pieces today and they've been caught out.
64'
Y. Tejeda enters the game and replaces C. Borges.
I. Smith enters the game and replaces C. Gamboa.
Gamboa is the latest man to leave the pitch, he has been replaced by Ian Smith.
Another Costa Rica substitution, with Borges replaced by Tejeda.
62'
There are now two sets of brothers on the pitch for Northern Ireland, Jonny and Corry Evans, who both started the game. Whilst Conor and Ryan McLaughlin are the other siblings to take their place in the team.
60'
R. McLaughlin enters the game and replaces J. Magennis.
C. McLaughlin enters the game and replaces L. Hodson.
The other change sees Lee Hodson head off the pitch and he has been replaced by Conor McLaughlin.

58'
Gamboa whips a superb cross into the box from the byline, which Colindres meets with his head, but he fails to get enough power on the ball and it goes well wide of the target.
55'
Northern Ireland are really struggling to get out of their own half right now, as Costa Rica are pressing high up the pitch and they look very strong in all departments, winning the possession back far too easily for the visitors' liking.
53'
SAVE! Carson is forced to make a good save to deny Campbell another goal! The winger cut inside and tried to curl the ball into the top corner, but it's slightly too close to the goalkeeper who he makes a strong stop, pushing the ball away to safety.
49'
It could be a very long second half now for Northern Ireland, as the hosts continue to press forward and they look eager to score more goals. The visitors need to settle down and start to string a few passes together, as they are just chasing shadows at the moment.
46'
J. Campbell has scored a goal for Costa Rica! Assist by D. Colindres.
F. Calvo enters the game and replaces Ó. Duarte.
The second half is underway!
Costa Rica have made a change ahead of the second half, with Duarte replaced by Francisco Calvo.
The hosts start the second half in terrific fashion. Colindres is the architect of the goal, he rolls the ball off to Campbell on the edge of the area and he then makes the finish look easy.
COSTA RICA DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! Dreadful start by Northern Ireland and Campbell takes advantage of some poor defending to make it 2-0. Colindres gets into an excellent position just inside the box, he then pulls the ball back to Campbell, who slots it past a couple of Northern Ireland defenders and into the back of the net.
45' +2
That's the half-time whistle!
45'
There will be a minimum of two minutes added time played at the end of the first half.
44'
CLOSE! Campbell with a terrific effort. The Arsenal man cut inside from the right wing and gets past Hughes, he then tries to place the ball in the far corner of the net. However, his shot goes just wide of the post, much to the relief of Carson in the Northern Ireland goal. Almost 2-0 to Costa Rica.
40'
The Northern Ireland players must be looking forward to half time now, they look tired and drained after a first half which has mostly seen them defend in their own half as Costa Rica have controlled the game.
39'
S. McCartan enters the game and replaces L. Boyce.
Northern Ireland are forced into making an early change as Liam Boyce appears to have picked up a knock, he has been replaced by Shay McCartan.
36'
Another Costa Rica corner coming up! Venegas powers an effort at goal from the edge of the box, but Corry Evans manages to get an important block and send it away from goal. The resulting corner comes to nothing.
35'
L. Moreira enters the game and replaces K. Navas.
Costa Rica have made an early substitution here, with Keylor Navas replaced by Leonel Moreira.
32'
GOOD SAVE! Carson is called into action and has to made a strong stop to prevent Costa Rica from doubling their lead. Venegas sprinted through on goal and fires an effort at goal from 25 yards out, but it's straight at Carson.
30'
J. Venegas has scored a goal for Costa Rica! Assist by G. González.
It was poor marking from Northern Ireland, with González getting his head to the ball far too easily, setting up Venegas perfectly at the far post.
COSTA RICA LEAD! The hosts have looked dangerous at corners today and this time they take advantage, with Venegas heading the ball home. Gonzalez wins the initial header from the set piece, flicking the ball towards the far post where Venegas had made a good run, he sprinted past Jonny Evans and powered the ball into the back of the net from a couple of yards out.
29'
Play has resumed here, with Costa Rica regaining possession and looking to play out from the back, hopefully the water break will inject more enthusiasm and intent into both teams play.
27'
We've got a brief stoppage in play here as both teams enjoy a water break, in order for the players to get refreshed in these hot and difficult conditions.
24'
CHANCE! Another Costa Rica opportunity here, this time it falls to Colindres. Gamboa whipped a superb ball into the box from the right wing and Colindres met it at the back post, however he drills his effort just wide. Once again it's not great goalkeeping by Carson, who was caught out by the flight of the ball and didn't look comfortable making the decision whether to come and gather the ball or leave it. Thankfully Costa Rica don't take advantage.
20'
The pace of the game is very slow at the moment, neither team are showing any urgency to get forward and take the initiative. It must be difficult for the Northern Ireland players out there, they faced similar conditions in Panama a few days ago, in a game that ended 0-0.
18'
HE SHOULD'VE SCORED! Duarte with a header from close range after a corner was whipped into the box. Carson came off his line and got nowhere near the ball, with Duarte having an empty goal to aim at. However he somehow manages to power his header wide of the post. Great chance!
16'
Magennis launched a long throw into the penalty area, in search of McAuley and Jonny Evans who had made their way forward from the back. However, the two players are well marked and a Costa Rica head gets the ball away.
11'
Costa Rica are certainly the team on top at the moment, they are playing the ball nicely around the pitch, making the Northern Ireland players chase the ball, which is not ideal in these conditions.
9'
COSTA RICA CHANCE! Venegas manages to beat the offside trap as a long and hopeful ball catches out the Northern Ireland defence. The striker races through, but has to cut inside and play it back to Campbell on the edge of the box after being crowded out by the visitors' defence. Campbell races onto the ball and tries to curl his effort into the top corner, but he gets too much on the ball and it flies high and wide of the goal.
8'
There is a terrific atmosphere here, with the home supporters really getting behind their team early on, hoping that their side will secure victory today in their final home game ahead of the World Cup.
5'
CHANCE! Northern Ireland with a decent opportunity to take the lead early on here! Boyce races through on goal after a long ball came over the top of the Costa Rica defence, he had two defenders for company and tried to chip Navas in the Costa Rica goal. However, he doesn't get the correct direction on the ball and it goes narrowly wide.
4'
Costa Rica are seeing much more of the ball early on here, they've won a corner which they take short, taking advantage of the Northern Ireland defence who were slow to react. However, the visitors defend it well and comfortably clear the danger.
3'
It's 11am in Costa Rica and it's already very hot, so we may see the conditions play a big part in the game, especially for the Northern Ireland players who won't be used to these kind of conditions.
1'
We're finally underway! Keylor Navas was honoured before kick-off for his Champions League triumph with Real Madrid last weekend, so we've kicked off slightly later then planned.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE match commentary of the international friendly between Costa Rica and Northern Ireland.
Michael O'Neill is likely to give the younger members of his squad opportunities to impress today, as his side face Costa Rica in a friendly. There are a few first-team regulars missing from the squad, which led to O'Neill giving three players their international debuts in a 0-0 draw against Panama during the week. Five players traveled to Panama without a first international cap and three of them - Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Shayne Lavery and Jordan Thompson, all received their first senior cap.
Northern Ireland's next competitive fixture is not until September 8 when they face Bosnia and Herzegovina in their UEFA Nations League opener. Meanwhile their opponents are preparing for the World Cup.
Costa Rica reached the last eight of the 2014 World Cup, impressively topping a group which featured England, Italy and Uruguay. They qualified for the 2018 World Cup by finishing runners-up to Mexico in the final group stage and they will face Brazil, Switzerland and Serbia in Group E. Prior to the tournament, they will continue their preparations with a friendly against England at Elland Road on Thursday.

HALF-TIME: COSTA RICA 1-0 NORTHERN IRELAND
The hosts deservedly lead here through Venegas' header and it there could and should've been a few more goals for Costa Rica. Campbell and Duarte both went close to scoring, whilst Northern Ireland have offered nothing going forward themselves and have been second best throughout the first half. It will be very difficult for them to get back into the game, as Costa Rica stepped up the tempo after taking the lead and look extremely comfortable.
FULL-TIME: COSTA RICA 3-0 NORTHERN IRELAND
That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
Costa Rica put on a great performance in front of their home fans, the perfect send-off ahead of the World Cup. They will now travel to Europe, where they will face England and Belgium, which will surely be much tougher games for them. Meanwhile Northern Ireland offered nothing today, they really struggled to get a grip of the game, and they were second best in every department and the hosts deservedly came out on top.
