Hegazi clatters into Suarez and picks up a deserved yellow card.
90' +4
Trezeguet receives treatment on the touchline after running himself into the ground. He's been everywhere and looks like a player to watch out for in the tournament.
90' +3
Sam Morsy gets yellow.
The major question that will linger around Egypt now is whether they should have rolled the dice with Salah. They've impressed for the majority of the game but have lacked flair in the final third, which the Liverpool star would have provided.
Indiscipline beginning to creep into Egypt's game now as Morsy is cautioned.
90' +1
Egypt were within touching distance from securing what may have been a crucial point but their performance in the latter stages had dropped, inviting the pressure from Uruguay. Against players like Gimenez and Cavani, you will be punished. Egypt have found that out the hard way.
90'
Sanchez has impressed since his introduction and his cross invited the pressure from the Atletico Madrid defender, who dispatched the chance expertly.
GOAL! 1-0 URUGUAY! Sanchez delivers a free-kick from the right and Gimenez rises highest in the area to head into the right-hand corner of the net. Heartbreak for Egypt!
89'
J. Giménez has scored a goal for Uruguay! Assist by C. Sánchez.
88'
OFF THE POST! Inches away from a winning goal! Cavani curls a free-kick that has El-Shenawy beaten but it bounces back off the frame of the goal, with Sanchez then blocking the rebound from his own team-mate.
87'
L. Torreira enters the game and replaces M. Vecino.
Third and final change from Uruguay, as Vecino is replaced by reportedly Arsenal-bound Torreira.
This could be a key moment in the match as Fathy fouls Cavani, giving Uruguay a superb position to strike at goal.
85'
A draw is a fair result given the reflection of the match and host nation Russia will be delighted if it stays like this, as it would put them in a commanding position at the top of Group A.

Description
83'
WHAT A SAVE! El-Shenawy has really shone today and he's made a decisive save. Suarez knocks the ball into the path of Cavani, who unleashes a powerful volley that looks destined to fly into the back of the net but the stopper is equal to the attempt.
82'
Ramadan Sobhi enters the game and replaces Amr Warda.
Final change for Egypt and confirmation that we won't see Salah today. Warda makes way, with his spot taken by new Huddersfield signing Sobhi.
81'
OVER! Egypt attack again but can't find room for a shot, with Elneny attempting to chip Muslera from the edge of the box but seeing his attempt sail over the top of the goal.
79'
The break is on for Egypt but the final ball into the middle towards Warda is hooked away. The tempo of the game looks to be shifting back into the favour of the African side.
77'
Godin again charges forward with intent but the ball through to him from Sanchez is too heavy. Another chance to test Egypt wasted from Uruguay.
76'
Edging into the latter stages of the game and Uruguay remain on the front foot, with Egypt starting to show signs of tiredness.
74'
El-Shenawy is only earning his sixth cap for Egypt tonight and was selected ahead of veteran El-Hadary for the game. He may be less experienced but he's really impressed, making crucial interventions when called upon.
73'
BIG CHANCE! Uruguay immediately hit on the counter and Cavani pokes a ball through to Suarez, who tries to dribble around El-Shenawy but the Egypt goalkeeper dives to the striker's feet to snatch the ball.
72'
SAVE! Fathy strikes a blistering shot towards goal that Muslera clutches onto well and the referee deserves credit for playing the advantage after Warda was fouled in the build-up.
70'
Sanchez is the man to deliver, finding the feet of Cavani at the near post, but he strikes the arm of Caceres with his attempt and it's a defensive free-kick for Egypt.
69'
Uruguay are back in the driving seat and have an opportunity after winning a corner off Trezeguet.
67'
Tired legs are emerging, which is leading to splace for attackers to exploit, but both goalkeepers have enjoyed a relatively comfortable match. It only takes one moment for things to change though.
65'
Uruguay have looked better since making their two changes but chances remain limited. El-Shenawy's close-range save to deny Suarez moments into the second period could be decisive.
63'
Kahraba enters the game and replaces Marwan Mohsen.
Egypt do make a change in attack but it's not Salah entering the frame. Instead, Kahraba replaces Mohsen.
61'
Egypt will fancy their chance of snatching a win from the game and fans are desperate to see Salah introduced. You have to wonder whether it's worth the risk though.
59'
C. Rodríguez enters the game and replaces G. de Arrascaeta.
A second change in quick succession for Uruguay, who introduce Rodriguez in place of De Arrascaeta.
58'
C. Sánchez enters the game and replaces N. Nández.
Uruguay make their first change of the game, replacing Nandez with Sanchez.
56'
Trezeguet takes the ball out of the air with a touch and tries an attempt from distance but it's well wide of the target.
54'
Suarez still cuts a frustrated figure as he continues not to go his way, with Uruguay still poor when they get into the final third. Oscar Tabarez needs something to change for his side.
52'
Egypt continue to look bright in the wide areas but the final ball is still lacking. Trezeguet's pace is proving to be a real asset and he's certainly one to watch for the remainder of the match.
50'
Sam Morsy enters the game and replaces Tarek Hamed.
Confirmation of Egypt's change, with Wolverhamptoon-born Morsy taking the place of Hamed.
49'
Hamed was down in the latter stages of the first half and is on the floor again. A signal to the bench has been made and it looks like we'll see the game's first substitution.
47'
SAVE! Another huge opportunity for Suarez after Cavani flicks a ball over the defence to the striker, who smashes a shot at goal but sees his attempt superbly kept out by El-Shenawy.
46'
Egypt get us back underway. Hopefully the second half is more entertaining.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: EGYPT 0-0 URUGUAY
43'
Egypt again finding room in wide areas, with Fathy having two opportunities to whip the ball into the middle, but the first is cleared away and his second soars above the heads of his team-mates.
40'
Warda is down in a heap after failing with an acrobatic attempt to play the ball but is quickly back to his feet.
38'
A surging run forward from the back by Godin sees the defender ease past Elneny and he feeds a pass through to De Arrascaeta, whose touch is poor and the ball trickles behind for a goal kick.
36'
Better from Uruguay as they move the ball around to find space but, like Egypt at the other end, the final ball hasn't been up to standard.
34'
Egypt look threatening down the left, where Trezeguet has the better of former Manchester United man Varela, but the delivery into the middle so far has been poor.
32'
A chance for Uruguay from a free-kick quite a way from goal and Suarez smashes his attempt into Trezeguet in the wall.
30'
Egypt will be very pleased with the opening half hour but Cuper will want his side to be more creative in attack. Without the exceptional flair of Salah, the Pharaohs look rather flat.
28'
Suarez has had a very poor game so far, sloppily conceding possession once again. Uruguay need him to be at his best but he hasn't managed to get going.
26'
Brilliant play from Warda to get past Caceres, then feeding the ball to Mohsen but, on the turn, he doesn't connect properly with his effort and it's another comfortable save for Muslera.
25'
Suarez doesn't miss opportunities like that very often so it can be seen as a huge warning sign to Egypt.
23'
WIDE! Suarez has a golden opportunity to open the scoring for Uruguay as a corner fell to the Barcelona star at the far post but he slices his effort into the side netting.
21'
Bentancur looks to be the key for Uruguay creatively but he's often electing to play the ball sidewards or back to a defender rather than crafting an attack.
19'
Elneny is playing a different sort of role in the middle of the park to his position with Arsenal, where he's mainly used as an enforcer in front of defence. For Egypt, he's been given a licence to roam forward.
17'
Uruguay continue to find themselves on the back foot as El Said skips past Bentancur and takes a dramatic tumble, earning himself a telling off from the referee but avoiding a yellow card.
15'
Egypt now emerging as the more impressive of the two sides but Muslera, who's likely to win his 100th cap at the World Cup, hasn't been tested significantly.
13'
A very cagey affair so far, with no side really dominating, and we haven't seen much of Suarez as of yet.
11'
SAVE! Egypt now force Muslera into action for the first time, as Trezeguet chests the ball down to create some room just inside the box but doesn't connect with his shot properly.
10'
Hector Cuper will he happy with the start his Egypt side have made, as they've kept Uruguay quiet and are finding their rhythm in attack.
8'
SAVE! Cavani has the first attempt of the match, firing a low shot from outside the box that El-Shenawy managed to keep out comfortably.
7'
Egypt are starting to be more involved in the game after coping with Uruguay's early pressure but neither side is yet to threaten in the final third.
5'
Warda puts Caceres under pressure defensively but can't keep the ball in play after his tackle, though it shows Egypt's intent to limit the time Uruguay have on the ball.
3'
Uruguay have dominated possession in the opening exchanges, with Egypt seeing little of the ball, as Cavani rolls around in pain after being caught by Hamed.

Uruguay get us started at the Central Stadium in Ekaterinburg.
Hello and welcome to live text commentary of the Group A match between Egypt and Uruguay at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
After Russia got us started in some style yesterday, Egypt and Uruguay will be looking to follow in the footsteps of the host nation by beginning their campaigns with three points - especially as Russia's goal difference was boosted significantly against Saudi Arabia.
Egypt XI: Mohamed El-Shenawy; Ahmed Fathy, Ahmed Hegazi, Ali Gabr, Mohamed Shafy; Mohamed Elneny, Tarek Hamed; Amr Warda, Abdallah El Said, Trezeguet; Marwan Mohsen.
Uruguay XI: Fernando Muslera; Guillermo Varela, Jose Gimenez, Diego Godin, Martin Caceres; Nahitan Nandez, Rodrigo Bentancur, Matias Vecino, Giorgian de Arrascaeta; Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez.
Egypt subs: Essam El Hadary, Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed El Mohamady, Omar Gaber, Sam Morsy, Mohamed Salah, Kahraba, Ayman Ashraf, Ramadan Sobhi, Mahmoud Hamdi, Shikabala, Saad Samir.
Uruguay subs: Martin Campana, Martin Silva, Cristhian Stuani, Sebastian Coates, Diego Laxalt, Jonathan Urretaviscaya, Gaston Silva, Carlos Sanchez, Maxi Gomez, Lucas Torreira, Maxi Pereira, Cristian Rodriguez.
Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez names a strong line-up and the one that many would expect to see, with experienced strikers Cavani and Suarez leading the line. Arsenal fans should keep an eye on substitute Torreira, who's widely linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium from Sampdoria.
After losing to South American rivals Colombia in Brazil four years ago, Uruguay are looking for success this time around. 68 years after La Celeste last won the World Cup, it would be a major surprise to see Suarez and company go all the way in Russia but they're expected to be present in the latter stages of the competition.
Uruguay only played one warm up game ahead of the World Cup, a routine victory over Uzbekistan, but enter the tournament on the back of a five-match unbeaten run. However, they won just one of their last seven qualiying matches.
Egypt don't enter the World Cup in the best of form, as Cuper's side have not won any of their six games since the win over Congo that sealed their spot in Russia. In their warm up games, the Pharaohs drew 0-0 with Colombia and were defeated 3-0 by Belgium - an improvement on those results in needed.
The big news from Egypt's perspective is that, despite being tipped as almost certain to start, Hector Cuper only names Salah on the bench as the Liverpool star pushes for a return from injury. In his absence, the Pharaohs will look towards Al Ahly's Mohsen to get the goals but he's scored just four for his nation prior to the World Cup.
Egypt expects ahead of the Pharaoh's first World Cup match in 28 years but the absence of Salah, who scored five of Egypt's eight goals in the third-round of qualifying for the tournament, will hit Cuper's side hard. However, it's a chance to show that they're not all about one player in what is on paper their hardest game in Group A.
Goalless at the break and Egypt will be the happier of the two sides. Neither side has been incisive in the final third and Uruguay in particular have struggled to get their strikers involved in the game. Suarez had the best opportunity of the half but wasted it, slicing an effort into the side netting.
The game is crying out for a star to take the game by the scruff of the neck but, with Suarez sub-par and Salah on the bench, both sides have lacked inspiration. It's poised for someone to grab the headlines in the second half, although it's difficult to see where a winner would come from at this stage.
Pressure on Egypt will now increase ahead of their clash with Russia, where defeat could result in a premature end of their World Cup campaign. Meanwhile, Uruguay will fancy their chances of securing their spot in the knock-out stages when they tackle Saudi Arabia.
The goal was very late and the performance wasn't great from Uruguay but Oscar Tabarez's side have a crucial three points, with Jose Gimenez's goal ending a 48-year wait for La Celeste to win their opening game of a World Cup. Egypt impressed for the majority of the game, with Trezeguet and Mohamed El-Shenawy shining, but fell short at the end.
Thanks for joining our commentary today. Until next time, goodbye.
