Jurgen Klopp’s side have enjoyed a strong start to the 2019-20 season and are unbeaten in their last 10 games. The hosts, who are one of only three teams to score four goals or more in back-to-back Champions League games, currently sit second in Group E, one point behind Napoli. Genk, meanwhile, have won only one of their previous five matches in all competitions, and have conceded 10 goals thus far in Europe, which is the most of any team in the group.
The teams are out, and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Anfield.
Klopp will be pleased with his side’s overall performance thus far, but will be hoping for a far more ruthless display after the restart. Salah has almost got in behind on numerous occasions, and his pace could be crucial if the home side are to regain the lead in the second half. Genk, meanwhile, will look to continue in much the same fashion after the break, with Ito causing the Liverpool defence several problems throughout the opening 45 minutes.
Liverpool can secure qualification in their next European match when they host Napoli. Genk, meanwhile, welcome Red Bull Salzburg as they look to bounce back.
That brings an end to our coverage of the Champions League fixture between Liverpool and Genk at Anfield. Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
