Lokomotiv get the first half underway.
Hello and welcome to live commentary of this Champions League clash between Lokomotiv Moscow and Juventus. The hosts enter this one tethered to the bottom of Group D having failed to record a point in their first three games. Juventus, however, find themselves sitting in a strong position at the top of the table with seven points. Nevertheless, this won’t be an easy game at all for the Italian side: in the first fixture between the two teams in October, Juventus needed a late double from Paulo Dybala to overturn Lokomotiv’s one-goal lead.
SUBS: Aleksandr Kolomeytsev, Stanislav Magkeev, Dmitry Zhivoglyadov, Anton Kochenkov, Murilo Cerqueira, Brian Idowu, Roman Tugarev.
JUVENTUS (4-3-1-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Daniele Rugani, Alex Sandro; Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic, Adrien Rabiot; Aaron Ramsey; Gonzalo Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
SUBS: Merih Demiral, Rodrigo Bentancur, Blaise Matuidi, Douglas Costa, Mattia De Sciglio, Paulo Dybala, Gianluigi Buffon.
Lokomotiv make just one change from their 3-0 defeat to Spartak Moscow last time out with Cerqueria dropping out for Rybus at the back. More importantly, though, they switch from a 5-3-2 to a more compact 4-4-1-1 formation. Meanwhile, Juventus keep retain the same shape from their victory over Torino while making seven changes: most notably, Dybala – despite his heroics on the last matchday – is replaced by Higuain up top.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
Looking ahead, Lokomotiv should have real belief that they can claim an unlikely win in the second period after that performance. However, Juventus - as they showed with that late Higuain chance - will be incredibly difficult to keep quiet.
As a result, Juventus qualify for the first knockout round of the tournament and they'll be thrilled to do so with games to spare. For Lokomotiv though, they'll look back ruefully after losing both games against Juventus through late goals. They now rely on Bayer Leverkusen to avoid defeat against Atletico Madrid in order to keep their hopes of qualification alive.
