13'
D. Calvert-Lewin has scored a goal for Everton!
GOAL! 1-0 EVERTON! Everton's early assault on Newcastle's goal pays off. Sigurdsson gets two bites of the cherry from the free-kick as both his shots are blocked. However, the second lands to Calvert-Lewin who slots the ball nicely into the bottom left corner!
11'
Everton keep pressuring Newcastle. This time, Sigurdsson's corner from the left is met by Keane and blocked by Carroll for yet another Everton corner. Walcott's shot from the right fizzes wide and Newcastle can only half-clear, with Almiron barging over Baines on the edge of the box. Everton free-kick.
9'
Everton's long-serving captain Baines fires in a cross from the left that's blocked. Everton get their first corner of the game.
7'
Newcastle seem quite content to let Everton come at them with the aim of picking their visitors off on the counter-attack. Yedlin wins possession and fires a direct pass forward for Joelinton but Holgate is there to intercept.

And we're off here in Newcastle!
Hello and welcome to our live text commentay of this Premier League fixture between Newcastle United and Everton at St James' Park, Newcastle.
After their 4-1 Boxing Day battering away to Manchester United, Newcastle will be looking to avoid losing back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since August. Steve Bruce's side did surprisingly well in the first half of the season but, with tricky games coming up, an extra cushion here wouldn't hurt.
Everton started life under new boss Carlo Ancelotti brightly with a 1-0 victory over Burnley two days ago. Only two former Everton bosses - Joe Royle and David Moyes - have won their first two Premier League games in charge of the Toffees. Can the Carlo effect keep Everton surging up the table?
NEWCASTLE UNITED (3-5-2): Martin Dubravka; Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Florian Lejeune; DeAndre Yedlin, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey (c), Miguel Almiron, Jetro Willems; Andy Carroll, Joelinton.
SUBS: Karl Darlow, Dwight Gayle, Christian Atsu, Matthew Longstaff, Javier Manquillo, Sean Longstaff, Emil Krafth.
EVERTON (4-4-2): Jordan Pickford; Djibril Sidibe, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Leighton Baines (c); Theo Walcott, Tom Davies, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Richarlison; Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean.
The two sides are out on the St James' Park pitch - Newcastle will wear their iconic black and white home strip, while Everton are also wearing their traditional blue and white. No clashes here!
Everton's win lifts them to 10th in the table, above Newcastle in 11th on goal difference. Crisis? What crisis? Newcastle have lost three of their last four league games now. They're safe for the time being but need to stop the rot quickly.
That's that for these sides in 2019 then. Everton travel to Man City on New Year's Day while Newcastle host Leicester. On this evidence, both sides - especially Everton - have little to fear in 2020. That's all for now. Goodbye!
