Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
England need only a point from their clash against San Marino on the road on Monday to book their place in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup in their final qualifying match. Albania sign off their campaign on the same day at home to Andorra.
Gareth Southgate will want to see the same intensity from his team after the break. Albania have been abject to say the least and have a major task on their hand to keep the scoreline at 5-0 in the second half.
ENGLAND SUBS: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sam Johnstone, Jack Grealish, Tyrone Mings, Conor Coady, Tammy Abraham, Jude Bellingham, Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale.
ENGLAND (3-4-3): Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire, John Stones; Reece James, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Ben Chilwell; Phil Foden, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling.
Albania also need the victory tonight as they trail Poland by two points in second place. If the Poles fail to beat Andorra and Albania pull off a shock win, it would leave an opportunity for the Eagles to push for a playoff berth by securing second place in the group. Edoardo Reja's men pulled off an impressive win over Hungary on the road in the last round of qualifying matches before being beaten by Poland by a 1-0 margin. Albania do have quality, but will need a flawless performance tonight.
England can qualify for the World Cup with a victory tonight and if Poland fail to beat Andorra in their contest. Gareth Southgate's men were off the boil last time out in qualifying, drawing at home against Hungary. Roland Sallai put the visitors ahead at Wembley, but John Stones was on point to earn a share of the spoils. The Three Lions will want to send out a statement that their draw was a minor blip to ensure that they qualify for the World Cup automatically as winners of Group I.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the World Cup qualifying Group I clash between England and Albania at Wembley Stadium.
