We're under way at the Vitality Stadium.
Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth are in deep trouble at the bottom of the Premier League, sitting in 19th place with only one win in their last 12 matches. Gary O'Neil's men have not won since November and pressure is growing on the Cherries boss amid his side's slide towards the Championship. Kaoru Mitoma's late strike condemned them to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion last week. High-flying Newcastle will present a huge challenge for the hosts today.
Newcastle's charge towards the Champions League has been blunted slightly after drawing four of their last five matches. However, Eddie Howe's men remain unbeaten in their last 16 Premier League games, their longest run in the competition. They were held to a 1-1 draw last time out by West Ham and have had problems finding the net. Playing the Cherries may allow them to regain their scoring touch.
BOURNEMOUTH SUBS: Mark Travers, Ryan Fredericks, Chris Mepham, Ryan Christie, Joe Rothwell, Marcus Tavernier, Matias Vina, Kieffer Moore, Antoine Semenyo.
NEWCASTLE UNITED (4-3-3): Nick Pope; Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman, Dan Burn; Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff, Joelinton; Miguel Almiron, Alexander Isak, Allan Saint-Maximin.
NEWCASTLE UNITED SUBS: Martin Dubravka, Paul Dummett, Anthony Gordon, Matt Ritchie, Jamal Lewis, Ryan Fraser, Jacob Murphy, Elliot Anderson, Lewis Miley.
BOURNEMOUTH (4-4-1-1): Neto; Adam Smith, Jack Stephens, Marcos Senesi, Jordan Zemura; Dango Ouattara, Jefferson Lerma, Philip Billing, Jaidon Anthony; Hamed Traore; Dominic Solanke.
Eddie Howe will be delighted to enter the break with the scores level. Newcastle have been off the pace in the contest and were lacking a spark in the final third before Almiron's leveller. The Magpies have a huge chance to open up a lead from Tottenham in fifth place with a victory today, which could be huge in the race for the Champions League.
Thanks for joining our commentary today. Until next time, goodbye.
Bournemouth are next in action against Wolves next Saturday at Molineux in their Premier League clash. Newcastle host Liverpool in their next outing also next Saturday.
